Search will help you out quite a bit, but to quick answer your question, there are plenty of people jumping the Baby Death/Opteka .3 on a side mount. If you ok jumping a .5 then the Century one is good. very low profile. Otherwise the Raynox lenses are a popular choice but they are quite a bit longer than the others. Sky Canyon Wingsuiters

just have the rider steer by giving the flyer directions either by taps on the shoulder or moving the flyers head. Another option would be to have the rider ride on the front of the first flyer and just have their legs wrapped around the flyer. Then the first flyer positions on top of the second one and then the rider drops from the first to the second. Once on the second flyers back they roll over to the usual rodeo position. How hard could it be? Sky Canyon Wingsuiters

I have a plan. What you do is have a person flying on their back. Then the rodeo positions themselves underneath the backflyer and eases up to them. The rider rolls over and lays facing the backflyer. The rider then grabs the yolk of the backflyer. Taa Daa! After the bottom person quickly flies away the backflyer flips on to belly with rider attached. Seriously people how hard could it be! Sky Canyon Wingsuiters

Unless their first rig was designed to hold a 210 and it already had a 170 in it. Also it depends if it is a rig with a closing loop attached to the tray or a flap. Also what if you decide to go from a 190 nine cell to a 150 seven cell? Just some things that throw a kink into it. Sky Canyon Wingsuiters

Article on landing wingsuit w/o parachute

Perhaps writing an article on how impossible it is to write an article on the joy and beauty of wingsuit flight unless you have taken part in it. Sky Canyon Wingsuiters -

How tight do tandem instructor's harness their student?
mnskydiver688 replied to TALONSKY's topic in Tandem Skydiving
I adjust the harness exactly the same way for both men and women so if the boyfriend is watching he can see that there has been no change in the process between me and her. Same goes for when the girlfriend is watching. Sometimes I will bring up my girlfriend and the fact that she hasn't jumped. Just making conversation seems to make the process go more smoothly. Oh and I only touch harness during the adjustment process. Sky Canyon Wingsuiters -
Should US television show this PSA on texting while driving?
mnskydiver688 replied to kallend's topic in Speakers Corner
While 25 dead is 25 too many. Let's try putting the proper weight behind the problem of texting. 25. Now lets consider driver fatigue. Do all of us pull off the road if we are tired? Driver fatigue has proven to be much more deadly than texting. Now lets consider no texting or non-hands free phone use laws. Would the driver be required to pull onto an on ramp to use the phone or would people be pulling over on the side of the road? If it is the latter then how is that safer? We have all seen the videos of traffic stops going horribly wrong when another driver drifts onto the shoulder. In regards to the former, some states only allow for emergency stopping on the ramps. In addition to this, how would emergency calls be handled? While I think texting is a dangerous activity while driving it is a small part of a much bigger problem. General driver distraction. Drinking the morning coffee. Reaching for something on the backseat. Trying to control kids. Putzing with the radio. I watched a woman search her backseat for at least a few miles in absolute awe as every once and a while she would look at the road. Also how about GPS units. Ever seen someone slam across 4 lanes of traffic because "Daniel" told them they needed to "exit right"? I have seen more poor driving related to GPS usage than texting. When someone is driving erratically all I do is look on the dash and sure as shit there sits a GPS. So lets not get fixated on a small part of the problem. Sky Canyon Wingsuiters -

Yeah it is the first time I saw someone tossing a suit of the plane with no one in it. Ha. Sky Canyon Wingsuiters

I would assume so. It would be appreciated if they provided a series of photos of the suits. I haven't seen the new stuff and so I would be interested to see them. Maybe update the Tonysuits site! Sky Canyon Wingsuiters

Although the banter between Robi and Tony at FnD was entertaining. As skydivers we know what we want and when we are going to spend the kind of money required to purchase a wingsuit whatever we feel most comfortable in and what connects the most with our style, personality, and penis/vag size, whatever the case may be, is the one we are going to buy. Being as I am from a upper midwest dropzone where wingsuit flyers are few and far between, I just want people to fly with so ultimately I don't care what suit it is. As long as we are flying together that is good enough for me. Sky Canyon Wingsuiters

Jarno prefers to push all the wrong buttons. Why do you think his slogan is "Pony not Pussy!" Sky Canyon Wingsuiters

I will throw in my hopefully non-bias opinion. Currently I fly an S-6, but am looking at a Ghost 2. As far as Tonysuits are concerned, they are effortless to fly, and the ergonomics are very well thought out. They are durable due to the use of Parapc. Inflation is very solid. Good manufacturer backing them up. As far as Phoenix-Fly is concerned, they are very intuitive to fly, and their design is very well thought out. They feel very light in the air and the performance is very good. Inflation is solid, but not overdone. Good manufacturer backing them up. As far as Bird-man is concerned, well the S-6 is the left overs of what Robi built so it is a good suit. It is mostly intuitive to fly. Feels light in the air and has very good forward speed. Slow flocking takes some practice, but can be done. Inflation is good, but no back-fly vents. BIAS opinion - After demoing some Tony-suits and Phoenix-Fly suits I have decided I more completely align with Phoenix-fly suits. That is not to say I didn't like aspects of Tonysuits. However, I liked how the Ghost 2 felt. It felt lighter in the air and more connected to my entire body. I didn't prefer how the all Parapac felt as though it weighed me down. I prefer the level of inflation of the Phoenix-Fly suits as the Tonysuits seemed a bit much for me. While the Tonysuits were less work to fly, I don't mind having to put forth a little physical effort in order to better fit my flying style. Ultimately do as others have said and demo as much as you can. Good Luck Sky Canyon Wingsuiters

I fart in your general direction! Honestly, I would skip from the Prodigy to the Stealth. Just a thought. Sky Canyon Wingsuiters

So your saying that if first jump students such as AFF or S/L are taught well they won't feel like they are required to remember anything? Also, I am fairly certain that if you asked a tandem student what they enjoyed from the jump they will tell you everything no matter if they ended up puking at the end of it. But what do I know. New Tandem Instructor - "Warning" I think there should be some clarification made in regards to an exit with intentional flips and one with a "gainer". Out of a plane such as a PAC-750 where the pair is seated on the edge of the door a gainer exit affords a very quick drogue throw. Now intentionally doing flips that are not stable and control can only be established by radically changing your body position should not be done. Personally I do tandems out of 182, so just lovely dives out the door, but my first 16 or so paid tandems were from a PAC. Flame on. Sky Canyon Wingsuiters

If anyone wants to donate funds I would be happy to attend and represent the upper midwest. Otherwise I will be doing tandems to pay the rent. In any case have a great time guys! make sure there are plenty of pictures and video so I can live vicariously. Sky Canyon Wingsuiters

Nope, my first tandem I had was the grumpy old tandem instructor that I learned couldn't care less if students ever came back after their first jump. I asked how I could become a skydiver, I was not "sold" on it. I will tell my students about what is out there as far as the sport is concerned, but I am in no means going to "sell" them on the sport. With a sport that requires such a large personal commitment it is a very personal decision and therefore no one should feel as though they are at a used car lot being sold a bill of goods. I bet if you told them the whole truth about the sport, (tons of money, lost friends, etc.) they would very seriously reconsider. If they are truly interested then they will make it happen. Tony Suits puts the 'WIN' in Wingsuit!
mnskydiver688 replied to Tony_Suits's topic in Wing Suit Flying
Well Justin doesn't smile on his jumps so that improves his glide. You know Mike if you didn't give all those cheesy grins you could probably get to something like 4.5. Just a thought. Sky Canyon Wingsuiters -
After reading the numerous threads that have elicited heated arguments I decided to think about what got me to wingsuiting. Today on the way to a DZ that I haven't been to in over month, (due to throwing drogues at another) I was greeted with huge puffy white clouds that made the drive very difficult. Even though the puffy's decided to break apart I still had some very fun jumps with Butters aka Tony and it was funny just how far the WSI, Tandem Fly-By's and other stuff was from my mind. So..... the point of this thread is for people to discuss flights that were out of body experiences or close to. Which, also made you forget everything other than the moment you were in.... Let's here it! Sky Canyon Wingsuiters

TIs do you give your students altimeters?
mnskydiver688 replied to WatchYourStep's topic in Tandem Skydiving
This is how it should read or at least how I was taught from day one. I looked over and saw that my alti wasn't moving, I waved off and pulled accordingly. I got a different altimeter for the next jump. Sky Canyon Wingsuiters -
For future reference, go find an old R.I. rig maybe a Flexon with the Amptron fabric. My first rig had it. Worked like a charm. I think they may have even used in their marketing approach. Sky Canyon Wingsuiters
