  1. Do I sense some sarcasm? My post was meant to be sarcastic too. Sky Canyon Wingsuiters
  2. I take an mp3 and open it in a WAV editor and take the portion of the song I want, save it as a .wav file and put it on my memory card. Works like a charm and you can pick the part of the song you want. I use wavepad. You can get it at download.com for free. Sky Canyon Wingsuiters
  3. Maybe after all the suggestions for him to get retrained or consider forgoing jumping out of airplanes, maybe he should consider BASE. You don't have to worry about pulling two emergency handles. I would also think that it is tough to toggle whip a BASE canopy. Or maybe I am way off base here. Sky Canyon Wingsuiters
  4. Hey what is wrong with being over narcissistic! If you can't love yourself then who can ya love? I mean really! Sky Canyon Wingsuiters
  5. Oh I am sure. I have to learn to fly one though first! I'm sure it's one of those few times in skydiving where you do feel your stomach in your throat. Sky Canyon Wingsuiters
  6. How does not taking the money away help the kids? I don't think a drugged up parent will put their meth addiction aside to get necessary stuff for their kids. I think drug testing for welfare is an excellent idea. If you are self sufficient then I don't give a shit what you do with your paycheck, but when J.Q. Taxpayer is covering your ass you better be spending it on NEEDS and finding a job. Sky Canyon Wingsuiters
  7. That video is where my question originates. The other jumper didn't believe that ~500ft was possible on a high speed pass and that the wide angle lens was throwing me off. At what speed would you have to worry about blowing apart you or the suit? Sky Canyon Wingsuiters
  8. For those who have done a high speed pass out of a tail exit, how high above the plane do you think you got? I was having a discussion with another jumper about this. Sky Canyon Wingsuiters
  9. Ssshhhhh.... you weren't supposed to say anything! Sky Canyon Wingsuiters
  10. You sure you want a flat tire?....... Ohhhh you mean the plane! Someone else decided to risk there life with it... Sky Canyon Wingsuiters
  11. No, I want a new one even if it got only a flat tire! Sky Canyon Wingsuiters
  12. Sabre1's stopped being manufactured in '01 so I wouldn't say "so old". I know that getting the larger slider helped with mine. Also packing is a issue with the sabre's. Learn how to pack 'em and it isn't too bad. Now just like every other canopy lemon's are out there and possibly this is one of them. Sky Canyon Wingsuiters
  13. Hey don't talk about our alfalfa field like that! Sky Canyon Wingsuiters
  14. Just like a Cessna is a safe airplane, but you wouldn't do (competition) aerobatics with it. Sky Canyon Wingsuiters
  15. Yeah hopefully he is still around when I get there. I might be just outside the 3 week window. Fingers are crossed. Sky Canyon Wingsuiters
  16. Glad to hear your first 2008 jump went well! I am headed to Eloy in Feb to get my first '08 jumps in. Jumping in winter isn't an option up here in the winter. Woke up to -15F this morning. Have fun with the new rig and try not to get it dirty. Blue skies! Sky Canyon Wingsuiters
  17. Too bad man... Yeah when I lived in the dorms I wouldn't leave anything of significant value over break even it is was locked down. Sky Canyon Wingsuiters
  18. I have had this suit for a little over 200 jumps and so far I have been impressed with its performance. The construction is top notch. The color fastness of the fabric is good. I have put it through a few washes and no real fading or bleeding of colors, (my suit is white, navy, and yellow). The booties could be more secure as they can come off while launching from the crotch in a Cessna. If you don't jump out of those then no worries. Good suit!
  19. Geez, you must get going quick after the first handshake if he is supposed to know how you want it by the end of the first day. Do you take breaks? Sky Canyon Wingsuiters
  20. Show off... Haha Although, Wade kind of eclipsed your sheet metal screw trick so you will have figure something new out. Lol Good luck on the next 7000. Sky Canyon Wingsuiters
  21. I was able to get a used rig for 1200 with out a cypres. The container was a Flexon, Raven Reserve, PD Sabre1 170 with about 1000 jumps. Throw in a used cypres and you are under 2000. Was the rig free-fly friendly? No, but I progressed in RW and by 140 jumps I was doing well on 12 to 14 ways. The sport can be as expensive as you want it to be, just like anything else. Instead of buying a new high end helmet buy a Pro-tec. Buy a used Alti from an up jumper. You are taught to jump safely without a audible, one less thing to buy. See if someone around the DZ has an old jumpsuit they want to get rid of. You might not be the most fashionable person around but when you are spending the money on jumps you develop your skills and when you get good they don't care what your rig looks like in the middle of a jump. Later on get an instructor rating, pass your wisdom on to new people and make a little on the side. On the lighter side if you are jumping all the time you don't have time to waste money on other unimportant stuff. Sky Canyon Wingsuiters
  22. Yeah, then I have another excuse to spend excessive amounts of money on jumping. I have to get a suit! Oh then convince others at my DZ to get one. Sky Canyon Wingsuiters
  23. I guess I will just have to play it by ear then and ask around when I get there. If not I guess it will have to wait. Sky Canyon Wingsuiters
  24. Pretty short list: 0-30ish Student gear (220-280sqft) 30-50ish PD210 .9 W/L 50-200 Sabre1 170 1.1 W/L 200-Present Sabre1 150 1.3 W/L With the prospect of getting into WS I might stick with the 150 for a while. Although I wouldn't pass up the opportunity to jump a Velo 89 if given the chance. Sky Canyon Wingsuiters
