  1. the 2 hour season premire of Grey's Anatomy.
  2. I used to wear mine 24/7 until it broke a little over a month ago. I've been meaning to get a new one. This thread has me scowering the internet.
  3. Conratulations. Looks like it was absolutly beautiful.
  4. It's all the trees changing colors. It's such a pretty time of year it just puts people in the mood.
  5. thank you...that's what i needed to hear. Tough love is real love.
  6. I know this is related to my other thread. And I know that I'm comming off a bit whiney. But I've got serious guilt about looking for a new job. I have an interview set up for Monday. I took the day off work so I could go. That was no big deal. However, I have not told my current boss that I'm looking for the new job. Today I was joking around with him about something and he said, "You better watch yourself." He was joking of course but my one supervisor overheard this and not knowing the context she was worried that I was getting in trouble. She then said, "Well I'm glad he was only joking we need you around here." I have serious issues with guilt. I think it comes from growing up with a mother who guilted me into doing everything she wanted me to do. Yet along with this guilt I know that I really should go for the new job. Especially because I just got my schedule for next week and I'm just barely getting 40 hours for the week. (Note: I need at least 10 to 15 hours of overtime each week to be able to pay my bills.) How do I go about getting over this guilt? Ok...whinning session over.
  7. The only single brother I have is extremely intellectually challenged and no where near as attractive as he thinks he is. Sorry, I couldn’t do that to ANYONE. Kinda like a defective Barbie Doll that really wasnt that cute to begin with. But he does provide alot of entertainment.
  8. I'm guilty of doing it. Most of the time I don't even realize that I'm doing it until someone says something too me. It's actualy kinda uncomfortable for me when I try to force myself to stop. I tend to be a figety person in general though. I can't sit still in the same position for a long time.
  9. But we took it out of the environment there's only water and fish and birds there.
  10. I wish I could do that. However I work with a bunch of back-stabbers who will do anything to make you look bad so that they look good. I can't even tell people when I'm going out of town for the weekend because then rumors start flying about BS crap. I've attempted to trust my fellow employees but have been stabbed in the back so many times I just don't talk to anyone unless it's work related.
  11. Your roommate needs to grow a set of balls. Everyone has different tastes and different opinions. If everyone liked the same thing the world would be really boring.
  12. ahh, money, I gotcha Yes money is an issue. But I'm not trying to become a millionare. I just did the math and realized that once the dz closes for the season and I don't have money comming in from packing then after all my basic bills (not including gas and groceries) I'll have $30 a month to live off of. I dunno about you but that doesn't work for me.
  13. I can tell you from seeing it happen to other people that if I do that my boss will show me where the door is.
  14. Actually the new job is in a completely different field. As much as I love EMS I don't think it's gonna let me do the things I want to do in life.
  15. Yo feel guilty for wanting to find a job that pays more than $8/hour. and it takes them 3 months to train someone to do the $8/hr job The responsibility and knowledge it takes for this job is not reflected in the pay or respect you get from the boss. If it was I don't think I'd have as many problems with the job as I do.
  16. I think part of the reason I feel guilty is I know how short handed they are already. Also knowing that it takes 3 months to train someone new for a dispatch position.
  17. But if I use them for a reference won't the new job call them up and start asking questions about me as an employee? And wouldn't that kinda clue them in that I'm looking for a new job? That's how I thought it worked. Though I could be wrong. I've had very few jobs (they all lasted several years each) and most of those jobs I got because I already knew the people there.
  18. In prior situations I've always told my bosses when I was looking for a new job so that I could use them for references.
  19. So I'm in a situation that I've never had to deal with before. I'm planning on looking for a new job starting today. I've never left a job just because I didn't like it. I always had a reason such as moving away to college or graduating college and moving away from there. And as much as I love my job, there is no way that I can live off of $8 an hour and do the things I want to do in life. Not to mention that talking to people that have been here since this place opened in 1996 and realizing that there is absolutly no retirement plan, no chance for promotion (all promotions go to family members of the owners), no pay raises except when minimum wage goes up and I will only ever get 1 week of vacation time a year with no sick or personal days. Here's my dilema. I always feel that honesty is the best policy when it comes to this kind of stuff. But I have seen it first hand that when someone even mentions that they're thinking about looking for a new job they get black listed. They get taken off of the call-in sheet, they get absolutly no over-time and they get the shittiest shifts possible. I'm afraid of putting myself in that position then not getting a job and being stuck being black listed. I don't like being dishonest with my boss but I feel as if I have no choice. What would you do?
  20. I saw that last night. I loved it. I thought about posting it but it seems like anytime someone posts a Foams rant it gets deleted.
