I don't have the RSX, but it's basically the same as my Honda Prelude, only that Honda discontinued the Prelude but Acura kept on the the RSX. I also took an RSX for a test drive a few monthes ago. When I test drive cars, I REALLY TEST DRIVE CARS. The RSX got great pickup, it has gobs of power. It corners like i'ts on rails. If the reliability of the RSX is anything like my prelude, it will go forever. My prelude has 120,000 miles and is still on it's first set of brakes. Literally nothing has broken. I love my prelude. I've done nothing except scheduled maintenance to it. _Am ICQ: 5578907 MSN Messenger: andrewdmetcalfe at hotmail dot com AIM: andrewdmetcalfe Yahoo IM: ametcalf_1999

It depends where you are. I did my hop and pop from 2500. Most of the turbine DZ's from around chicago do it from 4500. It doesn't really matter, you're falling so slowly when you're sub-terimal you've still got lots of altitude. I had an 18 second freefall from the chopper at quincy from 4500 Getting out at 2,5 is really no harder then getting out at 13,5 - you've got OODLES of altitude to deal with any malfunction. You should be in the saddle right around 2000, which will again give you tons of altitude to land, considering you should have a perfect spot. _Am ICQ: 5578907 MSN Messenger: andrewdmetcalfe at hotmail dot com AIM: andrewdmetcalfe Yahoo IM: ametcalf_1999

Not that people can't participate in it - hell, people don't participate in formula one racing, but people still watch it. I think the problem is that people can't relate to it, especially they can't relate to the scoring system. Just look at what was big in the x-games: skyboarding and freeflying - did people understand the scoring system? Did joe average sit at home and yell at the TV that the judges were wrong? I watched the x-games with some of my whuffo friends, and they couldn't get over the idea in freeflying that the camera man was being judged. They thought it was absurd that there was a camera man filming another camera man, filming a skydiver. In hindsight, I don't disagree. While those camera flyers had a skill that I will never posess, it doesn't make it right for prime time. X-games freeflying was 50% a contest of who was the better cameraman. Can you think of any other mainstream sport that pits cameramen against each other? I think blade swopping could get a good folowing... Especially the downhill slalom courses. It's quantifiable. I like things that can be measure: Tests of distance and time. That will work so much better then tests of camera work. _Am ICQ: 5578907 MSN Messenger: andrewdmetcalfe at hotmail dot com AIM: andrewdmetcalfe Yahoo IM: ametcalf_1999

My uncle went on to get his PHD in philosophy, he's now a very succesful accountant. I have a liberal arts degree, I'm a (hopefully succesful) Internet entrepreneur. People who chose to focus on a traditional education rather then training can go in which ever direction they choose. They just have to work a bit harder when they get there. _Am ICQ: 5578907 MSN Messenger: andrewdmetcalfe at hotmail dot com AIM: andrewdmetcalfe Yahoo IM: ametcalf_1999

Dude, congrats. Have lots of fun, but play safe. That Stiletto is a great canopy, but you gotta treat it with respect. It will bite you. Front riser preasure is going to be hight when you're recovering from a dive. You've got so much airspeed that the canopy is generating a whole lot more lift... This is gonna happen on any high performance canopy. Have fun, and go sell AggieDave your PD190. _Am ICQ: 5578907 MSN Messenger: andrewdmetcalfe at hotmail dot com AIM: andrewdmetcalfe Yahoo IM: ametcalf_1999

Bill isn't the first skydiver celebrity to come on here and be called a "newbie" - he certainly won't be the last. Bill just needs to be a post whore, answering all of our questions, until he gets off "newbie" status. Actually, now that I think about it... there seems to be an inverse relationship between the number of posts and the users skydiving ability, so maybe this is a good thing? _Am ICQ: 5578907 MSN Messenger: andrewdmetcalfe at hotmail dot com AIM: andrewdmetcalfe Yahoo IM: ametcalf_1999

The FAA updated the part 91 FAR last summer. They were wildly expected to look at reserver repack schedules during this update. They made tons of skydiving related changed, like finally clasifying tandem jumps as non-experimental. The short story is that for reasons that absolutely nobody understands, they decided that changing the repack schedule was out of scope for that FAR change. So they didn't even address the repack schedule. The USPA is trying to get the FAA to look into it, but the FAA does move SO slowly... _Am ICQ: 5578907 MSN Messenger: andrewdmetcalfe at hotmail dot com AIM: andrewdmetcalfe Yahoo IM: ametcalf_1999

I'm not embarased either. I do think people will take slappies request seriously. Can we just leave it at this? Bill, I'm confused. Are you refering to the cuttaway cable housings on the container or the risers? I still have soft housings in my risers. New risers with hard housings are on my shopping list but not my top priority. Should they be?
