  1. That's the pink porter, I believe. The exhaust pipe gives it away, I think. _Am ICQ: 5578907 MSN Messenger: andrewdmetcalfe at hotmail dot com AIM: andrewdmetcalfe Yahoo IM: ametcalf_1999
  2. Zero P is NOT Zero P. The duPont fibre with the Gelvenor coating is significanlty different the fabic used by Aerodyne and Pisa. The duPont Gelvenor combination is used by PD, and Precision. You can expect the fabic on these canopies to retain it's zero perosity for MUCH longer. This won't affect the canopy while you're flying it, it should easily outlast anything you'll do with it, but it will affect the resale price. The duPont fabric is one of the reasons PD canopies have good resale values. The flipside is that the fabric used by Pisa and Aerodyne is MUCH easier to pack when new. After jumping Aerodyne fabric almost exclusively, I'm still struggling to pack my Stiletto... _Am ICQ: 5578907 MSN Messenger: andrewdmetcalfe at hotmail dot com AIM: andrewdmetcalfe Yahoo IM: ametcalf_1999
  3. Beautiful day in chicago, but I have to stay home and work because I wasted all last week here. Doh! Skymedic and sunshine are out jumping right now. _Am ICQ: 5578907 MSN Messenger: andrewdmetcalfe at hotmail dot com AIM: andrewdmetcalfe Yahoo IM: ametcalf_1999
  4. I generally like PD's products, but I will not jump a Sabre. A friend of mine jumped a 170 last year and literally was in tears when she landed from the hard opening. This Sabre was less then a year old and had about 75 jumps on it. The Sabre 2's are great canopies. I wonder how long until PD discontinues the original Sabre? Naming the new one a Sabre 2 seems to imply they will be doing this. _Am ICQ: 5578907 MSN Messenger: andrewdmetcalfe at hotmail dot com AIM: andrewdmetcalfe Yahoo IM: ametcalf_1999

I think Bill made it quite clear he was objecting to manufacturing issues, not design issues. I think he also made it quite clear he like the overall design of the safire. _Am ICQ: 5578907 MSN Messenger: andrewdmetcalfe at hotmail dot com AIM: andrewdmetcalfe Yahoo IM: ametcalf_1999
  6. I don't know what the law says, I'm not a lawyer. I do know that this was an exteme case. It involved dogs that were raised to be brutal, dogs that were abused by their owners, dogs who were encouraged to be dangerous. The dogs were literally encouraged to do one thing, which ultimately ended in tragedy. If it wasn't this victim, it would've been another. I don't think this means that every dog owner will face criminal charges if a tragedy happens. Dogs are wild animals, and as much as we try to domesticate them, there will be occaisional tragedies. Weather or not the owners are charged should entirely depend on the circumstances. This weeks example was a very clear case, I'm sure the next one will be much more blury. And before anyone accuses me of being callous, I've been attacked by dogs twice. Once was a neighbors doberman, resulting in 18 stiches. I was 14. The result was a VERY apologitic owner, and the dog was put down. The second incident involved a junk yard dog who got free - this one ended with the owner being charged with assault. This time I was 16. I was on my bike, and a pit bull literally chased me down the street, then after a wrong turn I was cornered. Mental note: bikes make good weapons. I got out of this one unscathed. It was in Toronto, so granted that Canadian laws are different then US ones. _Am ICQ: 5578907 MSN Messenger: andrewdmetcalfe at hotmail dot com AIM: andrewdmetcalfe Yahoo IM: ametcalf_1999
  7. Sure. Do a good Burning Man video, I'm sure you could sell it. Nudists frequently show up on "real sex" and "sexcetera", the former on HBO and the latter on the Playboy channel. You could also do something on nudity in skydiving. WaHoo! Do you notice a theme here? ya. sex sells. I don't think a plain old "life of a skydiver" would sell, face it, it's just not that interesting to whuffos. You could do something on malfunctions, but that'd piss of a lot of people. I'm thinking something like Fox' "You gotta see this". _Am ICQ: 5578907 MSN Messenger: andrewdmetcalfe at hotmail dot com AIM: andrewdmetcalfe Yahoo IM: ametcalf_1999
  8. WooHoo! Lisa posted the grope pic! It's not sex or skydiving, it's sex AND skydiving. At the very least this means sex at night and skydiving during the day. Turn it up a notch and you've got an oral sex Mr. Bill, which mark my words, I will attempt at some point. I've also contemplated freefall sex, granted you'd have to start in the plane and you most definately wouldn't finish, but it'd be worth the effort. Could you imagine an orgasm in freefall? It would take discipline to break off when the time comes, though... Is skydiving better then sex? Not necesarily. I'm with Bill, good sex is better then bad skydiving, and vice versa. _Am ICQ: 5578907 MSN Messenger: andrewdmetcalfe at hotmail dot com AIM: andrewdmetcalfe Yahoo IM: ametcalf_1999
  9. Kickin tunes. For some reason, I couldn't get the low bandwidth version to play. Thank god I've got dsl... There should be some way to get the quicktimes to start playing before they're finished downloading. This way they'll start playing a lot sooner. I'm not a video geek, so I can't help you here... Also check out your compression. There was an abnormally large amoutn of artifacting on the high bandwidth copy. Nice shooting! Wish I could do that.... Also loved the closing scene... 16. A human being should be able to change a diaper, plan an invasion, butcher a hog, conn a ship, design a building, write a sonnet, balance accounts, build a wall, set a bone, comfort the dying, take orders, give orders, cooperate, act alone, solve equations, analyze a new problem, pitch manure, program a computer, cook a tasty meal, fight efficiently, die gallantly. 17. I forget the name of the place. It was on the West side of Bank, near Arlington. It was a pretty kickin place to do laundry when I was at Carleton, a few years back. For a while they even had a home theater set up in the back room, many times I'd chill to some kickin movies while doing laundry. They also had free pick-up and drop-of from Carleton. _Am ICQ: 5578907 MSN Messenger: andrewdmetcalfe at hotmail dot com AIM: andrewdmetcalfe Yahoo IM: ametcalf_1999

  23. I started jumping for this reason... just after I lost 80 pounds I felt like I could do anything. Jumping was always one of those things I never imagined myself doing until I got that feeling that I could do anything. So I jumped.
