5000/4500/4000 depending on the type of skydive. 3000, and 1400. And yes, I heard the 1400 this weekend after the 20 way. _Am ICQ: 5578907 MSN Messenger: andrewdmetcalfe at hotmail dot com AIM: andrewdmetcalfe Yahoo IM: ametcalf_1999

I bought one a few monthes ago. As far as I know, the blade has never touched anything since it left the factory. It won't, until I need it. I bought it because it's dirt cheap, and plumeting to my death under a wrap is the wrong time to think that maybe I should have one. _Am ICQ: 5578907 MSN Messenger: andrewdmetcalfe at hotmail dot com AIM: andrewdmetcalfe Yahoo IM: ametcalf_1999

Repeat after me! PLF.... PLF... PLF Feet and knees togeather. Hit with your feet, roll to your thighs, your shoulders, then your back. You SO should've walked away from that without even a bruise. Practice your PLF's! _Am ICQ: 5578907 MSN Messenger: andrewdmetcalfe at hotmail dot com AIM: andrewdmetcalfe Yahoo IM: ametcalf_1999

This is what Icarus says about this wingloading: Class 5 - Extreme 1.65 to 2.00 Lbs/SqFt wing loading Not for the faint hearted. If you are one of the few people that want to fly a class 5 canopy consider every aspect of what you are doing very carefully. On the up side there is very exhilarating airspeed, quick response times and powerful maneuverability. On the down side our margin for error has reduced to almost nothing (!), compounded by the fact that if we do make an error we are almost certainly traveling at speeds that can maim. If you have or are considering a class 5 canopy we can't tell you how to fly it in this overview, we must assume you know what you are doing. Most people I watch flying class 5 canopies don't fly them to the limits of the canopy and the performance they achieve from their canopy could be achieved from a class 4 canopy flown to its limits with a far greater safety margin. These canopies generally have to be run out on landing. They must be fitted with a collapsible pilot chute. Lowering and collapsing the slider and loosening the chest strap is recommended. Canopy recovery arcs can be over 400 Ft radius. The step from a class 4 canopy to a class 5 canopy can be quite large i.e. for a 80 kg jumper with gear and weights the difference between a 105 and a 95 feels similar to the difference between a 130 and a 105. I don't think they had this canopy in mind for someone with 300 jumps, certainly not someone who did 2/3's of those under a Triathlon. But that's just my opinion. _Am ICQ: 5578907 MSN Messenger: andrewdmetcalfe at hotmail dot com AIM: andrewdmetcalfe Yahoo IM: ametcalf_1999

Top speed hit on my prelude friday night = 135:11:1 11 jumps, including an awesome 10 hybrid (I was a hanger), a 20 way RW (I was base), a cross country, a 4-way with MountainMan, wife Laura, and SlowFaller. SlowFaller is aptly named. Firsts? The cross country.... finally! _Am ICQ: 5578907 MSN Messenger: andrewdmetcalfe at hotmail dot com AIM: andrewdmetcalfe Yahoo IM: ametcalf_1999

I have a Stiletto 150 in my J3. It fits a TOUCH loose, but the nice thing about the Javelin's is that you can really tighten up the closing loop. My Stiletto 150 is fine. I imagine the Sabre2 would also be fine. Despite what lisa just said about it being designed for a 160, and your rigger might be able to stuff a 170.... Well, I've now had 4 different riggers, none of which have complained about stuffing a Tempo 210 into mine... But the Tempo is known for packing small. While my knoledge of reserve canopies is rather limited, I suspect you won't have a problem with your 176. _Am ICQ: 5578907 MSN Messenger: andrewdmetcalfe at hotmail dot com AIM: andrewdmetcalfe Yahoo IM: ametcalf_1999

a) Lieing to the boss that work has been progressing has put me into a corner. I need to finish stuff before tomorow. b) the weather's not great... probably jumpable, but overcast. I don't feel THAT bad... _Am ICQ: 5578907 MSN Messenger: andrewdmetcalfe at hotmail dot com AIM: andrewdmetcalfe Yahoo IM: ametcalf_1999

I'm in a similar position... I lied to my boss friday, told him I was done a project and could deliver it on monday. I've got SO much work to do, I had to come home today and finish it. Bummer. Oh well, I did get 3 jumps in on friday and another 8 yesterday, including a 20 rw jump, a 10 way hybrid with only 4 bellyflyers and a cross country... _Am ICQ: 5578907 MSN Messenger: andrewdmetcalfe at hotmail dot com AIM: andrewdmetcalfe Yahoo IM: ametcalf_1999

Apart from the obvious benefit of fewer riser strikes, what are the benefits of topmounts over side? Does topmounting get in the way of bringing the slider down? _Am ICQ: 5578907 MSN Messenger: andrewdmetcalfe at hotmail dot com AIM: andrewdmetcalfe Yahoo IM: ametcalf_1999

Barry's page at http://www.skydivenet.com/fatalities was last updated Feb 7, and doesn't have any 2002 statistics. The other page at http://www.skydivefatalities.com is NOT run by Barry. It's a wreck dotter that started it up after Barry neglected his, and has been neglecting it equally. _Am ICQ: 5578907 MSN Messenger: andrewdmetcalfe at hotmail dot com AIM: andrewdmetcalfe Yahoo IM: ametcalf_1999

On the weekend I was in square2 looking at helmets. I was struck that every helmet had a standard chin strap, either the straight strap and buckle or the camera chin cup. At all the chicago area DZ's all the vidiots are modifying their brand new helmets to install a cuttaway system. Some of these cuttaway systems are quite elaborate.... some even have handles and three rings. They're really quite impressive. Why aren't the leading manufacturers installing easy, reliable cuttaway systems on camera helmets? _Am ICQ: 5578907 MSN Messenger: andrewdmetcalfe at hotmail dot com AIM: andrewdmetcalfe Yahoo IM: ametcalf_1999

Wow. That makes three countries! WooHoo! US, Canada, and now Panama. Wow! Despite the fact that he wrote down my cellphone number, I had the pleasure of meeting MountainMan tonight. We went out and saw The BlueMan Group - great show! We didn't get drunk, we're saving that for the weekend. _Am ICQ: 5578907 MSN Messenger: andrewdmetcalfe at hotmail dot com AIM: andrewdmetcalfe Yahoo IM: ametcalf_1999

I aske this question a few days ago.... I got a few answers that weren't posted. THe pc9 is a replacement for the pc5, which is a replacement for the pc1. The PC101 is coming out in a few weeks, and is a replacement for the pc9. The pc 120 is a replacement for the pc115, which is a replacement for the pc110. So the current models are the pc120 and pc9, but shortly the pc101 will replace the pc9. You can still get the older models, there's a bunch of them sitting in warehouses that are being sold online. The 110 and 120 are slightly bigger then the 9,5,1 series... so there's a bit more risk of riser strikes. They 110 and 120 also have more features... better stills and better nightshots. Anyone else got anything? _Am ICQ: 5578907 MSN Messenger: andrewdmetcalfe at hotmail dot com AIM: andrewdmetcalfe Yahoo IM: ametcalf_1999

Sadly, it seems like the Eloy jumper is a whole lot more serious then I'd previously heard. Aparently he's still in a coma with major spinal and back injuries.
