The problems with the 950 are well documented... Do a search. The issue revolves around it using a different auto-focus system that isn't so hot. The lens appears to 'flutter' in the wind. _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.

128 MB of ram is the bare minimum for running XP, never mind doing something intensive like compressing video. I recomend at least 256 for people doing basic tasks under XP... if you're going to be running premiere, at least 512. Memory is getting cheap... _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.

It's a lot better. However, I'd make sure to cover the join with duct tape, something strong that will keep a line from somehow getting wedged up between the join between the L braket and frame. _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.

If the US was motivated by oil, then their target would be Venuzela, not Iraq. Venuezela is closer, has fewer defences, and is actually where most of the US oil comes from. It's important to criticise Bush for the RIGHT reasons. While Bush's friends might profit from this, that has been the case with pretty much every war the US has fought in. Hell, it's pretty much usually the case even when the US ISN'T fighting a war. No change, really... This isn't about War. Bush is doing what he thinks is right. It's just unfortunate that 80% of the other countries in the world disagree with him. _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.

Snagadelic, baby! I'm very concerned about snag hazards on the bottom of the mount, as shown in pic#3. _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.

That really is not fair. Bill is smart enough to keep his inventions secret until they're already on the market. Rigging65 is giving you insight into a future product. To compare the two is unfair and, and to critize rigging65 for protecting his unmarketed ideas is irresponsible. _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.

So what? Challenging people to think for themselves is a bad thing? Or Blindly following the will of the current regime (oops, I meant adminsitration) is a good thing? I'm reminded of Nixon, who when seeking for re-election, promised that he had a great solution to end the Vietnam war, but couldn't tell us because it was critical to national security that it remail secret. Of course he didn't get elected (well, didn't rea;ly get the change to run....), and we found out that there actually was no plan. People that fail to study history are bound to repeat it. _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.

It's kinda funny seeing both rgoper, and the rest of us that are looking for international support before stariting the next war, put into "you people". Richard celebrates his military career just as much as you do, if not more. Before the Iraq stuff came up, he was clearly leaning to the right, not left. You might want to consider opening your mind to ideas that are independent of ideology. It's interesting. The Republicans used to be against war, the democrats used to be for it (WWII, Vietnam). The Republicans used to be for fiscal conservatism, while the democrats used to favor big bugets (80's, 90's). It's amazing how time changes things. It's not about right or left, it's a lot bigger then that. It's about right or wrong. _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.

If you go back to my previous posts in this thread, you'll see that I have little sympathy for those who get caught breaking the law. If you want to talk about what the law should be changed to, it makes a hell of a lot more sense to have prohibition of alcohol then it does canabis. America found out the hard way in the 20s that prohibition of alcohol didn't make sense, and now we're finding out that prohibition of canabis makes even less sense. Banning a relatively harmless drug to prop up the cotton industry is hurting WAY too many to justify the expense. Nobody really cared until the 80's when Regan started his "war on drugs", and there have been FAR too many casualties ever since. Throwing people in jail for 30 years because they got caught with a joint under a "3 strikes" rule, is an offense to humanity. Telling someone with chronic cancer that they'll be arrested if they take the only effective pain releiver that works, is an offense to humanity. To answer your question, just like people "learn to drink" when they're young, people smoking weed "learn" to do it the first few times. Just like alcohol, the first few times are more problematic then the later attempts. Kinda like sex, too... if you think about it. No, I don't think any of them should be arrested. _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.

Agreed, but in this case I haven't seen anything to indicate he has anything other then a cursory knowledge of what his friends or acquaintances looked like after smoking their first joint. Somebody who did spend a significant amount of time working with those who are under the influence, knows that the reactions to a first time use, vs. the reaction to long time use if very different, and can not be put together into the same category. _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.

That is the popular opinion in the US media. Oddly, when you start reading the foreign press, including England, you see a very different idea, that the UN is playing exactly the role it was created to do - discourage war. In the rest of the world, the current "crisis" is largely seen as the UN's greatest triumph. It's also seen as playing a critical role in balancing the empirical power of the US. No surprise that this doesn't make the current administration happy. _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.

a Canadian Apology to the United States (hillarious)
AndyMan replied to goose491's topic in The Bonfire
Ah, don't get so upset Smiles, this thread is only going to reinforce the idea that Canadians have a sense of humor FAR more evolved then the Americans. It's only reinforcing why Canadians have dominated the Chicago and New York comedy scene for decades, and they will continue to for the forseeable future. For those that don't know, Rick Mercer makes Jon Stewart look like Walter Cronkite. He can be seen on one of the funniest "news" shows ever produced, "this hour has 22 minutes", produced by the CBC. My favorite interview was when he convinced Mike Huckabee, the governor of Arkansas that Canada going to encase the country in a glass dome as protection against global warming. Said the governor: ''Hi, I'm Mike Huckabee of Arkansas wanting to say congratulations, Canada, on preserving your national igloo!" Other fun interviews was the with Tom Vilsack , the govenor of Iowa. In the interview he said "'Canada, congratulations on your new 24-hour clock..." It's amazing how gullible these guys are... Whenever an American tells a Canada joke, I grin. I appreciate their acknowledgement that we're funnier then they are. Now, if only we could teach them how... _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead. -
Speaking of rational decision making, somebody who admits to never haven taken drugs is in a rather poor position to argue about the effects it has on ones mind. _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.

If you're ever in Toronto, make sure to try the "Coffee Porter" at "C'est What" restaurant downtown. They use over 50 pounds of coffee beans in every batch. I've never found anything quite like it... even in Cleveland. _AM __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead. -

Funny, but the Navy is the only part of the Canadian armed forces that are somewhat reasonably well funded. Some of their newest destroyers are faster and more nimble then the American ones. _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead. -
how do I know when I'm ready to jump again?

Just to define FRIGGIN HUGE, I usually jump a Stiletto 150. I jumped under a Monarch 230, from the DZ's student gear collection. _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead. -
