Nobody has posted a link to information about this well-known scam yet, so here and here. The check is a forgery. You cash the check at your bank, then do the wire transfer on the difference. A few days later the bank discovers the bogus check, reverses the transaction, and you are suddenly out of the money that you wired and possibly the clarinet. I'll bet you a jump ticket that if you make waiting for the check to clear your bank a condition of the sale, he backs out.

DV camera/software not flying related question.

I use Windows Movie Maker to grab the raw DV from the camera. The quality is the same as any other program is capable of getting. The problem is probably caused by the way you are encoding the video after you capture it. -
I've taken a half-dozen courses over the Internet. It worked well for me. However, these classes were in subjects that I was already fairly well versed in. The "work at your own pace" system was great for me there. If the classes had been something that I struggle with, like advanced math, I probably would have bombed.

Pacific Fighters is a good prop combat game. You can also get it's predecessors, the IL-2 series, pretty cheaply at places like EB Games.

That's not a problem, it's a feature. Much of the energy that would otherwise crack your skull and scramble your brains is instead used up in shattering the shell of the helmet.

I bought a pair from SportRX a couple of years ago. I think they are the G107 model. After a little more than 200 jumps the elastic strap is getting worn out and the foam padding is starting to peel. The strap is standard wear-and-tear. I never did anything special to protect the goggles, just tossed them in my gear bag at the end of the day, which at least partially explains the foam peeling. I switched to contact lenses early this year so I've stopped using the goggles. The non-prescription version of my goggles are only about $25, so if I were still using them I'd probably just ask SportRX to put the lenses in a new set of frames. I think I got my $115 worth.

East Troy is located about 30 miles southwest of Milwaukee. I-94 will get you most of the way there, then it's another 30 minutes or so on a state highway. -
I've been getting the occasionaly Rolex ad, but I'm just getting hammered by "photo cop" prevention schemes to the tune of 15-20 a day.
