  1. The Circuit City in my neightborhood hasn't gotten any as of an hour ago, but apparently some have been sighted at a Best Buy.
  2. The whole season has already aired in Canada and maybe Britain. All of the episode are avaiable at TV Torrents. So, uh, I know the answer, but I'm not saying.
  3. Don't burn bridges. A positive reference could make or break future jobs.
  4. From the website: "The FAI's rules state that a record attempt like this must start and finish at the same airfield and cross all meridians of the globe. What's more the course must not be less than the very precise figure of 36,787.559 kilometres (around 23,000 miles) which is equal in length to the Tropic of Cancer. To allow the Virgin Atlantic GlobalFlyer to catch the vital jet stream winds, the FAI rules don't oblige that record attempts follow the imaginary line of the Tropic itself but simply that the distance flown exceeds it. That doesn't mean, however, that Steve Fossett could fly across the Poles. The course must also be kept away from the North and South 'Frigid Zones', defined as being at latitudes of over 66degrees33minutes."
  5. Quicktime, Here It's amazing how well he got the Office Space audio to sync up with the cartoon. Oh, and Aquaman showing Wonder Woman his O face is hilarious. Edit to add: Special bonus! Spider-Man's Greatest Bible Stories comic.
  6. On my weekly trip to Chicago I stop at some little hole-in-the-wall burger joint in the Loop. Double with everything, not sure exactly what's on it, not sure I really want to know, but it tastes great.
  7. I'm pretty sure that was Patrick Swayze.
  8. Check out his IMDB profile. lawrocket: How about we hook him up to an e-meter and ask?
  9. > I understand that the Sony PC series is the best Why do you think that? Plenty of people use TRVs and HCs, or even "prosumer" stuff like VXs, without any problems. Anyway, what kind of video do you want to do? Freefly, RW, tandems?
  10. The red shift comment leads me to think that you are talking about time dilation. Would their clocks really be off by a noticeable amount (to an observer reading a display, not to instrumentation on atomic clocks, because I seem to recall that's been done before)?
  11. There's a program that you can get from Qualcomm to convert a wav to the format that Sanyo uses. Then you can either upload it to a service like 3gupload which does the rest of the hard work for you, or you can package it, put it on the web somewhere, and download it with your phones browser. I have a set of notes from the last time I did this stashed away somewhere. Lemme know if you need more help and I'll dig 'em up. Edit: Looks like Wildblue beat me to it.
  12. - 4-way video - Freeflying - Doing whatever looks fun
  13. http://www.elbionico.com/mozplug/ Search plugin for dropzone.com forums. I wrote it last summer, put it online, then never told anybody about it. Oops. It needs a new icon, if anybody wants to whip one up for me. My graphics skills are extremely un-1337.
  14. January '05 is a wingsuit flying with a jumper under canopy.
  15. Tiffany D. from New Mexico, A-46574? Last one to make it in this month.
  16. The time you gain from falling slower wouldn't matter. Competition 4-way and 8-way are timed events. The team only has a limited time (35 seconds for 4-way) to complete as many points as they can. Anything after that just doesn't count. In fact, most teams want to go fast. The faster the air is moving over your control surfaces, the more power you have.
  17. I'm in Rising Fallers (C-34687), and the back of my head is in the SDC/Winter Expo ad.
  18. Well, I copied the following email verbatim from a scam warning site: Look familiar? This is what we refer to as a "10-foot-pole situation." Don't touch it. I wouldn't even reply to this jackass. If you do go ahead: The check will arrive made out for a significantly higher amount than the price of the canopy. He will ask you to cash it, keep your share, and wire the extra money back to him. Then the check will bounce and you will be screwed.
  19. I think you are assuming that there is some sort of standard for conversion lenses (distance from the fixed lens, that sort of thing). There isn't. Every manufacturer does things a little differently. Therefore, than can never be a true .5, unless it is designed specifically for a certain model of camera.
  20. Coming (soon?) to a store near you. 8.0 megapixel, 3 fps for 14 frames, improved CMOS sensor, and the DIGIC II chip. 10% lighter, 25% smaller, and 3.5x faster writing to the memory card than the 300D. Details here
  21. I do that 4 days a week for school. On Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday I have an hour drive (best case scenario), two-and-a-half hour long class, one hour drive home. On Wednesdays it's an extra special 70 minute train ride followed by a 12 block walk through downtown Chicago. I'm gone for over 7 hours for a two-and-a-half hour class. But it's all worth it, I guess.
  22. It can't hurt. I posted a want ad when I was looking for a somewhat unusual model of canopy. Found one within a few days.
  23. I just saw an article about a USB 2.0 box that does conversion to MPEG-1, MPEG-2, and DivX. And I can't find it again. Shit.
  24. Sky Knights flew 17 Cessna loads on Saturday.
