what happens if your PC entangles with your gopro
DSE replied to virgin-burner's topic in Photography and Video
I can't find the fishscale pix, but this is where the strength lies. There isn't enough "give" nor enough angle to get this to rip off easily. http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?do=post_attachment;postatt_id=124299; The plastic mounts tear off easily. The platform/sticky tape...not so much. -

In Engrish, "almost" doesn't mean "never" or "always" -
Yeah, but you had a pretty good First Flight coach, and quality coaching makes all the difference both during and after the FFC. Bad coaching=difficult student.

if the line is wrapped around the case, I'd wager the plastic mount would break at terminal. If it's caught at the point where the adhesive meets the helmet (under the mount) it almost assuredly will not break off. Somewhere here on DZ.com is a photo of a fish scale with a line under the adhesive mount. -
http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=2215798427803 Here is a guy of your size/weight. He has no problem going through the levels. About half-way through the video (2:47) you'll see him do two levels in the WISP program. He has no issues of significance (these are his second/third WS jumps). He was backflying with stability by 17 WS jumps. Good coaching will get you to where you'll be flying off the base in no time at all. Worry about bigger suits when you're ready for a bigger suit, and you may never want for a bigger suit. Worry about G/R when you've got WS jumps to use as a comparison. For flocking, acrobatics, or formation skydiving, an X2, Venom, or Vampire are inappropriate. Once you know more about your particular tastes and desires in WS, then you'll know enough to make better decisions.

We've had several other students in your same size range, and they've had little challenge to flock with others much more loaded, and their range has been tremendous. Ville H, Per L are 6'9" and approx same weight (we have suits to fit, @ 208cm)

If only that were true? According to the producer of this stuff, Pat was goofing on "Crazy Train" because he knew Ozzy. Then he decided "it sounds pretty good" and did the whole album. Smoke on the Water Enter Sandman Holy Diver So...they did an entire album. Funny thing was, most everyone who was involved with the originals contributed to the album, thinking it was a joke. Dio and Cooper sang back tracks. Metallica wasn't too thrilled, apparently. This album ranks with "the wit and wisdom of spiro agnew."

Pat Boone does Ozzy...that HAS to be in the list of "worst ever."

FWIW, I'd recommend learning with a less wide lens. In more than a few situations, I've seen guys that usually shoot .3/180 degree lenses turn to .5 lenses and miss the shots. Tandem-.5 RW-.5 Coaching-.3 My opinion is that you would/should want to learn to shoot based on aim vs spray n' pray. That said, I shoot fairly regularly with a .3 because during coaching, I don't want to think at all about aiming.

you might put a request on the FB page as well; there are several there that don't frequent the DZ.com site. Quite a few people at the DZ asking about partners. drop me an email, I can make some introductions if you'd like.

First Jump In MOAB Ut - I'm hooked!
DSE replied to NewbieNate's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Aaron, Clint, and the gang at SD Moab are all great folks. Can't ask for much better views in dry-land jumping, either. Welcome to the sport! -
http://www.sonycreativesoftware.com/download/updates/vegasfamily download the V10 update, input your serial #, and you're gold. PA2 will install straight across.

For the most part, we have all the types of beginner suits at Elsinore. Phoenix-Fly, TS, Alien, and even an old Birdman or two hidden in the dust kitties. I think West Coast Wingsuits has a broad selection too. [edited to say; I don't sell/deal in suits, so don't have a dog in the "buy this suit" hunt]

Production Assistant only works with the Professional version of vegas. VMS11 is very fast, however.
-
I've built a preset for premiere and vegas that reduces gamma by .2, pops blue just a tad/reduces yellows. Very happy overall. This works for most AVC and AVCHD sources.

The ROAM has better color, less features. The difference in the 170 vs 135 is appreciable. A Raynox .3 on a CX is much wider than 135. You'll lose width with the HD vs ROAM. I've got a ROAM I occasionally use, but the CX is still my pref for most things, especially AFF or WS students.

Indeed, and have taken a camera from a jumper to be returned upon landing, too. DZ policies are policies. "Hey, didn't you just get your B license?" Yeah man! "I'm guessing you didn't know that DZ policy says we'd rather you didn't jump a camera just yet?" Nope, that sucks dude! "Unfortunately, you can't exit with it. Can we return it to you when we land? The pilot has a padded box up front." No stress for anyone involved.

Congrats!

yeah, it does some nice things in certain lighting conditions. Outside of that...nope. I guess I'd call it "opinion-dependent." I'm not a fan

If the sunshade isn't straight up/down on the lens, you'll see it in the video. Turn on camera, rotate lens. The problem is immediately scene.
-
I work the same way; Card for master internal if necessary. As far as vignetting lenses, a super wide lens will often vignette with a wide-capable camera. *most* of the Century, Opteka, and some of the Raynox shouldn't have any vignetting, unless you're putting multiple adapters on them, or don't have the sunshade set correctly (I see this a lot).

IMO, a .2XXX (like a .25 or .27)They're stupid huge.
-
For MSPD, the class doesn't matter because of the way the format is locked down. The XC class cards are faster, but I didn't find them beneficial (except for EX cams).

8 GB is fine, will stand for a day of tandems assuming you're not shooting epic-length cuts. Although the brand isn't critical, knowing you've got a name-brand is. MSPD sticks are sometimes counterfeit, so get your card from a name-brand store that will accept a return in the event you get bitten. Best Buy, Walmart are both great places to buy a card and have little chance of getting a knockoff. Threads on the CX100 are 30mm. Most of the lenses come with a 30-37mm adapter ring. I recommend a .5; the wide angle of the CX series is wider than the older lenses on DV cams.
