This is what I hope motivates most to go for the rating. The rating is by far more about understanding teaching methods, observing the student, and providing a base than it is about money, flying skills, or FJC. Different DZ cultures treat coaches differently, and I think that's what creates the variances in the perceived validity of the coach program.

If you use it for watching TV or movies, then plasma is the way to go. Unless you live at high altitude (I do) Or unless you leave your TV (foolishly) parked on a channel like Discovery. Minus those two factors, plasma is my choice too.

Unless you live at high altitude.

not at all a replacement, but a different flying canopy. Both are 7 cells, both open softly, but they are quite different in how they fly. There is a very lengthy thread or two on the subject.
-
Does it power up? If so, turn it on, remove the card, and let it sit til the battery dies. This should reset it. I don't know of any other way to reset the HD version.

Put on a wingsuit when you have the requisite jumps. You can fly with flocks, fly solo and enjoy the lengthy view, travel distances others can't, and you're nearly always the last guy out and last person down. It's about as loner as you can get if that's what you're really looking for. Just off A is the most important time to be social, IMO. Yes, others do count on you to play in the sandbox, but you need those relative skills no matter what. They form the foundation that will let you develop in any discipline (except perhaps CRW, where belly work has relatively little value).

Until the canopy pilot decides to make a sudden turn because outs were neither considered nor discussed... If a sudden turn fucks me, then I was too close to begin with and flying with zero reserve... With a tandem flyby, thre are two others aside from yourself that are at risk when something suddenly "fu**s you." People even with tremendous experience have mis-judged distances or angles.
-
Congrats on both. tandem fly-bys...if you're gonna do em' at all...a fair amount of WS experience is needed. How close were you? Was it set up in advance? how were "outs" determined?

Storm 135 and Storm 150. Ellipticals aren't the best thing for wingsuiting, as a search will show you. Pilots, Sabre's (1 &2) Storms, Spectres are all commonly seen. Saw a Pulse on a wingsuiter yesterday at Couch Freaks.

Well said, couldn't agree more. Forget the numbers for now, just work on "feeling the air" and "hearing the wind." It'll come. GPS' are fun for looking at where you flew...but trying to improve based on the data, IMO...not the best "instructional aid."

Actually, it's a recorded song I did a few years back. "I don't care what they say when I'm gone, I don't care what they write on my stone, I won't hear it, won't be able to see it. But when I'm gone... Cover me with blue roses and I shall never want for more Cover me with lil' blue roses, I will meet you on the other shore..." Even if my family didn't know what to do (they do) there is a will, a DNR, and other pertinent documents that make my wishes clear. That said...as long as they sue no one, I really don't give a sh**. After I'm gone, it's none of my business. I suspect most skydivers feel this way?

I check both. Quite regularly. (camera gear and rig) Both are in locked Pelicans, hand inspected by TSA, then locked with real locks and ziptied for immediate notification if it's been opened ( use weird color zipties, such as yellow or pink)

Thread mentioned to Mark, his comment was that he'd look when he got good access (kinda spotty at Couch Freaks) but that you can also contact him directly at the hypeye address.
-
I *believe* Mark is traveling, but I'll likely see him tomorrow and mention this thread.

Hey DSE!! I would love to meet you!! Your video producing skills are phenomenal! I would also love to jump a wingsuit again. Just need a beginner suit. A prodigy/prodigy2?? Hopin for Blue Skies!! steve h Trailer packed. 23 wingsuits in every type from high performance to very introductory (even a tracking suit or two) for those wanting to start out. Utah is in my rearview mirror; see y'all soon.
-
Will you also have time to talk camers, helmets and related sony vegas studio stuff??

As much as I hate to say it, they're about the same. Same bitrate, similar encoder. We're doing a training DVD on the 2000 as well. I'm a bigger fan of the NX5, it's a better imager but also a grand more in cost.

If you merely corrupted or erased, you can probably recover with some data recovery softwares. If you formatted, there is a *small* chance of recovery depending on what's been done since, but I'd suspect it's gone. I'm doing a presentation on file-based video at PIA

That image seems to get stolen a lot. Thank you for the heads up. Sure would like to know who this cat is. To be clear, that is NOT my page, but it's stolen from my Wordpress banner and my personal homepage. Looks like the scumbag likes Diablopilot/JP Furnari too. http://gravityratsskydiving.com/skydiving-basics-techniques-how-to-exit-aircraft-when-skydiving.html

I'll have prodigy's, phantoms, and a few other entry suits. See ya there!

I don't know, but it's humbling to think about...for obvious reasons. I'd think you'd be embarrassed to think that God singles you out from all the other grains of dust in the universe. I'd like to think that if there is a God then it is more concerned with the greater good of vastness. Fighting off the Spaghetti Monster alone seems to be a full-time job, cuz all those earthquakes, floods n' stuff don't seem to be getting controlled. Both. You don't get both ways. Most parents understand this. Either you have free agency or you don't.

If you have an external DVD Burner, you can plug the cam straight in and burn direct. If not, there are several software apps that do this on the cheap (ingest, convert, burn) such as Nero. You'll still need a device such as a Pinnacle card, some sound cards have composite (the yellow connector for video) inputs on them. Very straightforward once you have the right hardware
