Humps:Jumps:Beer Owed 1:3:1? Do you owe beer when you get a new license? I mad made my 200th jump this weekend (C license)and also hit 2 hours of freefall time. Three awesomely fun skydives!

We must be dry all over the place. The Gunflint Trail in Northern Minnesota is at 55,000 acres (nearly 86 miles). http://www.startribune.com/462/story/1177481.html

Harness Cutting into Me on Opening
wildfan75 replied to funkcanna's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I gathered from his post that the rig he was having issues with is not his and is student rental gear. Obviously oven mitts are a temporary fix, but he's situation is temperary (new custom rig on the way). -
Everyone... Answer it however it makes sense for you. But it could be multiple answers. I have one that is 100% real and one that is 100% fake. Ugh!

Is this a question for the ladies or the guys?

Harness Cutting into Me on Opening

Who would have thought that pot would end up being classified as a performance enhancing drug.

What's your debt to income ration including the mortgage on your other home? If I were a banker I'd rather a client that only puts 5% down whose debt to income ration is low, vs. someone who can put 20% down but their debt to income ration is high, and the mortgage on the first place is debt. Go talk to another lender, even if you have no intention of using their services. I was super happy with my lender from the first home I bought so I went back for the second home. Got his figures but I also checked around at a few different places. Another lender quoted me a lower interest rate and lower closing costs. I went back to my guy and said, "The other deal will save me thousands of dollars over the years. I'd love to give you my business so if you can match it, it's yours." And he gladly matched. I would suggest that you do that, and compare the big picture. If Bank of America is waiving closing costs but their interest rate is high, then it's not such a good deal. Just my $0.02.

She's thrown up a few times before. She's a dog. They eat things they shouldn't. I did talk to the vet on Thursday evening and they said she's probably fine, just ate something she shouldn't have. Said to fast her until Saturday AM and then try giving her rice and chicken to get her started again. I gave her rice and chicken on Saturday AM. Seemed to stay down. Gave her more on Saturday night and she started to vomit again. I took her to the vet Sunday AM as soon as they opened. Her energy level was normal and other than the puking and pooping, she was her normal self. So instead of taking her to an Vet Hospital and having $1000 vet bill, I waited until Sunday AM to bring her in.

I didn't spend $4000 on jumping this year. I found a dz that doesn't shove up students ass to learn how to jump and charge you an arm and a leg for a ride to altitude. And you didn't say that many people were priveledged whiners...you wrote "You are just another priveledged whiner". Sounded pretty specific to me.
-
you can always sell your extravagant toys. (Rig helmet gear) from what you have posted so far you dont have any real concerns you are just another privalegde whiner Ummm...okay. 'Cause you really know what the fuck you're talking about! Thanks for the personal attack though. That's the first one I think I've had so I guess I owe beer now.

And not one of those things is a REAL concern (purhaps the dog) how sad you didnt make 200 in 12 months, how sad you cant make your 1st 4way comp, how sad you can afford to pay your car and vet bill Everyones worries should be so sad as yours Hmm...let's see. The car bill today ended up being $693 today, and since now my key won't turn over in the ignition, I get to go back tomorrow and have more work done. Which is going to create debt that I probably won't pay off until either A) I sell my house or 2) go in rears with my mortgage. So, I hope that I sell my house soon, or there goes the credit. Then the dog will be the least of my problems as I give her away because it's hard to feed me and a dog while living on the street. This is the tip of the iceberg. If you'd like to know everything that is going on, please PM me and if not, then STFU.

At least your at a net gain of one step and getting somewhere. I'm currently back peddling as fast as I can as just to not fall over. Here's been my last 7 days: Wednesday: $916 repair car Wednesday night: Dog throws up five times Thursday: Dog craps in house. Friday: Dog craps in house again. Saturday: Stupid winds pick up and I didn't quite get my goal of doing 200 jumps my first year Saturday night: Dog still sick and now has puked in the clubhouse at the dz four times, in her kennel and crapped in the bf's house (and when I'm saying crap...I mean major running, pissin' out your A-hole fun). Sunday: Bring dog to vet for $230 bill. This AM: Car breaks down about a 1 mile from work. With the tow charge and probably the alternator (symptoms point in that direction), I'll have another bill for $350. I'm not sure how I'm going to get home or how I'm going to go to get my car picked up. I had to bow out of my first 4 way competition on the 19th because of my unexpected up the ass bills in the last 7 days and leave my team and since my dog has gotten all her medication on Sunday night, she hasn't pooped yet. Taking two steps forward and one step back seems like a pretty damn good thing right now. Sorry...going back to my silent moppy place...

Student skydiver looking for people to jump with.
wildfan75 replied to pilotholder's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Awesome! See you there! -
Accidently pulled my reserve handle on deployment, but the wire didn't come all the way out of the harness. Looked up and only saw one canopy. So I put my rip cord (ff #6 so I was still using a spring loaded pc) down my jumpsuit and put the reserve handle back in the harness. Just as I got the reserve handle in the harness my reserve inflated. Side by side, checked my lines to make sure they were clear and cutaway.

If you want to escape the hot Cali weather this summer, head to Skydive Wissota in WI. You can fill any lil' Cesna 182 load you want, whether it be with two World teamers and a 5000 jump wonder (), or three B & C licensed folk. Just make sure you're ready to have fun! Edited to add: If you're "renting" gear, it will be $25 a jump. If you have your own gear, its $14 from 10k'. If you come on the weekend, feel free to stay at the clubhouse (pull out couches) so you have more money to jump! -
I hear that about the winds. 2:2:1 Managed to get 2 hnp's in on Saturday before the winds picked up. They were a ton of fun seeing that the winds were about 40-45mph at 3000'. Talk about not hurrying to get back! I came up 2 jumps short of reaching my goal of doing 200 in my first year. Beer owed for celebrating my 1st skyversary on Saturday.
-
Well, Mother Nature took a big crap on me this weekend! Not only didn't I get my last two jumps in to reach 200 in my first year, I couldn't even jump today because of the winds. I must go...more fist shaking to do at the sky!
-
...ME!!!! We're currently on wind hold but I only need two more jumps for 200. Hopefully the winds will die down sometime to allow for the two jumps. Overcast at 4000' so the hope of getting 2 hours of freefall (only need 1 min 15 secs more), 200 jumps and celebrating my 1st skyversary in one day is shot to hell...but I'm still hoping to hit 200!! Someone grab a beer and sacrifice themselves for me!!!

You can always do what my friends and I did for our cruise. 1 liter of votka fits perfectly into a 1 liter 7-up bottle (imagine that) and looks like 7-up.

How not to get a good start with a hearing... http://apnews.myway.com/article/20070504/D8OTQ4O03.html Dumbass! She should get some time in the klink. They should give her a case of soap bars and say "Good luck. Don't drop 'em".
-
You should be doing that because you want to do that. I constantly have a little conversation with my SO that goes like this: Him: I put out! Me: I put out! Him: I got you bootie stripes (on my jumpsuit)! Me: I got you a Pro-Track! The conversation ends there everytime. By your deduction, it sucks to be female because we piss away all our money to buy things like pro-tracks. And I don't even have a pro-track! Edited to add: And I still even pay him for repacking my reserve! I'm starting to think this stupid blonde thing really sucks!
