Watched a classic movie last night for the umpteenth time

Combining things, tell her to contact a local news affiliate (and you could enforce it by contacting them yourself), and if they take interest in her story, tell her (and them) that you feel so bad that you'll take her on a free tandem (with video of course) and will give the video to the news affilate so they see what Skyride is taking away from people. News affiliate reports that innocent person was taken advantage of by a big national scam, local club feels bad and fufills her life long dream. Suddenly people who have something to check off their life long goals list in your area feel the need to check out your club. Maybe one of them realize that they want to skydive the rest of their lives. Can't buy that type of advertisement!

Enough... Hopefully this will get the non-sense to stop. Lucy has a vet appointment in 2 and a half hours. She is on a wellness program at my vet. I pay $14 a month for the program. The program includes 2 comprehensive exams a year, all her necessary shots and vaccines, free office visits and a 5% discount on all medication. I can take her to the vet every single day of the year and the office visits won't cost me a dime more than the $14/month I'm already paying (obviously at some point they might want to cancel my program). Sorry if I wasn't more clear in my original post, but really, instead of jumping on someone's back, asking a few more questions instead of making accusations helps. I didn't post details because I wanted to converse via PM with vets instead of getting people who have no training in the veterinarian field trying to tell me what it is or what I should do.

Thank you!!!!!!!

Of course I'm going to bring her in but I was looking for 1) a second opinion and 2) some idea of what to expect and prepare myself for. But funny that we don't chastise humans that seek a second opinion, but if its a pet...GOD FORBID!

I found a lump on my dog last week. Of course my vet is telling me that I need to take her in ASAP to have it checked out. Any vets out there that can give me an unofficial 2nd opinion? PM me please and I can give you more details on her health, history and the lump.

Too bad my mom wasn't such a beech. I would call her and let her know that my deceased grandpa and grandma is owed money and she, being the only heir, is entitled to the money.

I didn't start skydiving until I was 30. When I was in college I started a 401K. Just 1 or 2% to put away something. I used that money to pay for my first rig. I figured how many people start a 401K while they are in college (working 30 hours a week as a full time student putting oneself through school non-the-less). So instead of being ahead of the game, I figured I'd just be with the game. Good luck...but I agree. Don't go into debt. It will only get worse. Suddenly you'll be paying less per jump and will want to jump more.

1st downsize from student canopy?
wildfan75 replied to baseknut's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Check your calculations on the wing loadings. Either you were losing weight at an incredible pace during your jumping career, or you divided sq ft by pound, instead of lbs divided by sq ft. -
Whoever wrote that isn't particularily smart or well informed. The federal govenment does not mandate that the legal limit should be 0.08 or any other figure. States are 100% completely free to choose their own legal limit. The way the federal government gets states to follow the 0.08 law is that if a states legal limit is not 0.08 (used to be 0.10), they do not receive any federal funding for highways/roads. But that's beside the point...no one should drive while drunk. Not sure what the level should be, but you have to draw a line in the sand somewhere. I guess I'd rather have it be errored on the side of caution when it comes to this than the other way around.

Is that the same as the Chrome Detention Center? I couldn't find anything called Chrome, but the phone number for the North Dade Corrections/Detention Center is (786) 413-3550. Its in Miami-Dade county too so maybe they could help?

1st downsize from student canopy?
wildfan75 replied to baseknut's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
The other issue with downsizing that I don't think I've ever seen discussed here (not saying that it hasn't, but it hasn't been as popular a discussion as "can you land it?") is when you downsize, you're also entering into a different airspace with faster canopies. We have a few newer jumpers at our dz that can land a 1.4-1.5 WL just fine, but they are now putting themselves into airspace with zooming Velos and Hurricanes on higher wing loadings around landing time. IMNO, I don't think that at 50-150 jumps one can possess enough experience to effectively deal with some situations that might arise with those zooming canopies. You have to make decisions faster and you have to think ahead farther than a lighter wing loading. You can have all the skill in the world, but IMNO, there are somethings that only experience can teach you. -
1st downsize from student canopy?

I did about 25 jumps on a Manta 288, then about 20 jumps on a Silhouette 190 (1.05 WL), 1 jump on a PD 190, and I've been jumping a Silhoutte 170 (1.2 WL) since. I've made one jump in a higher wind day on a EXE 150 in the winter and realized I needed to wait awhile before downsizing again. I stood up the landing and everything went fine, but knowing how fast I came down with good winds, I'm not sure I could handle it in no winds every single time nevermind the fact that it could be sketchy if I had to land downwind for some unforeseen reason. -

I might be a little ignorant in asking, but can she read in English? Just because she can speak it doesn't mean she can read it. When I was taking Spanish in high school, every Friday we got to spend the first 15-20 minutes of class listening to a pop song sung in Spanish. The teacher would type out the lyrics. We'd translate the lyrics and listened to it a couple of times to listen and by the end of the year, we could even tell where the singers were form based on the accents.

7 Hills Boogie, July 13-15, Madison,WI
wildfan75 replied to GPorter's topic in Events & Places to Jump
I'll check with my team about practice (we have a comp the weekend after) but if we're not doing anything, I'll try to talk a few to a bunch of people from Wissota making the trip. What's the heli jump going to cost? If you're still trying to nail down a commitment, talk to Joe Johnson from Baldwin (cutawayjoe on dz.com). He got a R44 for his Heli Boogie this January. Good times. -
Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders go skydiving!
wildfan75 replied to scottmyers's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Not at all. I find it funny that some girls want to have boobs like mine so much that they'll go under the knife to get it. I guess we all can't be blessed to have natural D's. -

So I guess jumping with breast implants isn't a problem. Ten out of ten with no leaks or explosions is good. -
I propose a new BSR to the SIMs...only naked jumping allowed!

RW questions - forward movement, fall speed, etc
wildfan75 replied to chrismgtis's topic in Relative Work
How tall are you? And what kind of suit do you have and what is it made of? I see you're at a 1.07 WL on a 175, so you're about 190ish exit weight, so about 165 neekid. Your height is going to play a big part in what kind of suit you need. We have guys on our dz that are around 6' +/- 1-2" at that weight and some of them fall like stryofoam. If you're around that jumping a baggy jumpsuit made of polycotton you're going to fall slow and have a hard time to catch up. Tell us more about what kind of suit you're jumping and also what is the suit made of, and how tall/weight the person you were jumping with. As for "finding a coach to jump with"...I hope that you'll be able to find someone to help you without charging you their jump, their pack job, their time and a little for their pocket. That's an expensive and bull$hit way to figure it out. Tunnel time would be good. I'm a fast faller and I learned more of a mantis position in the tunnel to help slow my fall rate. Spend plenty of time at the dz during after hours or non-jumping times (and bring some beer). It will cost you less in the long run. -
Here's Lucy shortly after a swim last 4th of July. Note about floppy ears: They are really easy to take care of if you know what you're doing and start cleaning them on a regular basis when they are young. Lucy is a bitched to get groomed because I didn't do it at an early age but she sits still for her ear cleanings.
