  1. Which is advertised as a digital alti-meter on their website... I was one of the 5 people (non-1000 jump wonder rigger obviously) that tried to help Stephan put it together. Honestly, if L&B didn't have such a great reputation (deservingly so) there wouldn't have been a second thought about it being so complicated. On L&B's website, the page detailing the features of the Viso it shows the Viso mounted on the hand strap with a clear plastic accessory, and if I remember right, even the packaging and the Square 1 catalog shows the clear plastic accessory would be needed to put it on the wrist mount. If it is advertised as a digital altimeter and every picture (from packaging to catalogs to their own website) show that the way to mount it on the wrist mount is the clear plastic accessory with absolutely no mention of it being an additional purchase anywhere, its completely understandable why someone would think that they got the shaft. If it was meant as an audible with a possible conversion to a visual, then sell it as an audible and then market and sell the visual package separately. If its going to be sold as either an audible or a visual, then sell it with all the components. Stephan's issues aside, I still have to endorse L&B. I just bought a new Oxygn A3 helmet and it came with a Neptune mounting bracket. I contacted Sky Systems to get a mount for my Pro Dytter (which I bought used). They said that I need to contact the dytter manufacturer. I emailed L&B and had a bracket within a week give or take a day or two (having it shipped from Denmark to the US the week before Christmas). And not only did the ship me my mount, but they also included two new batteries. I'm sure L&B will make it right and Stephan's thread was not started to bash L&B but rather to figure out how to put it together. It just seemed too complicated and not right by L&B standards.
  2. I agree with Smooth regarding multiple choices. My first 4 way was with three 10,000 jump wonders. The total number of skydive between the four of us was something around 33,017 (I added the 17
  3. Wausau, Wisconsin. It's in the middle of the state and it was damm cold up there. [Headshake] Its been a heat wave in MN and WI this week. It's 36F right now. Nice to not have to wear a jacket. I would die to have this weather on the weekend with blue skies!
  4. I hear ya! I've got four hours and 52 minutes to go and I'll be off for 11 days. I had 13 days off in 2000 and 3 months in college when I studied abroad, but nothing more than 5 days off since I was 15. I am super pumped and the motivation level is zeroooooooooo.
  5. we will be contacting you guys for advice have a good holiday Bill--Maybe you could contact Kim at Skimmer Suits and see if she'll sponsor your team. That would take care of your new jumpsuits.
  6. I editted it to better clarify what I meant. We finally had all 3 182's running this fall at once and got up a 12 way formation load. Formation loads are a blast!
  7. I thought this was going to be a thread about doing something bigger than a 4 way, which, at a 182 dz is a big way. Editted to clarify what I really meant in response to Billy's post.
  8. 1) I'm not sure that Todd is the one you want to have teach you to ride a bike. Its kind of like asking him how to land a manta and he starts off with, "Landing into the wind is for pussies. You'll get much more forward drive if you land downwind." 2) He knows. I made sure he knew that at P-Toss before I grabbed his man handle and told him to shake it for testicular cancer. (And even better than all the "Shake It For Testicular Cancer" screening was the fact that he kept screaming, "Stop it! I'm wearing tight pants!") 3) Depends on how bendy you are. 4) With the weather report looking like it does for this weekend, we'd better have good weather for New Year's weekend! 5) Mmmm.....OKAY!
  9. Ask Todd if you can have his motorcycle. Not sure how much work it needs or if its too much bike but I'm sure Bob would love to get it out of the far hanger. And not that it should matter, but how does Nick feel about his hot gf hopping on a motorcycle to go skydiving???? Hmmm...??? And you know there's a way to get a motorcycle for free? Its the same way you can pay your jump bill. Do Bob.
  10. That's a waste of some good toilet paper. I hope she's not a smoker.
  11. Shhhhhhhhhhhhh...Don't say that! Do you plan on only having a skydiving career long enough for one jump suit???? No? What are you going to say when Kim says, "Well, remember when you got your first suit, and you said that you'd have paid more? Well, pony up!" Kim--I will not pay more! Bad idea! Bad!
  12. It's not too cold to jump in Minnesota/Wisconsin! Welcome Heather! I'm from Skydive Wissota. Come and see us sometime! Nick is usually down for a few weekends a year and Mark and Chuck will sometimes bring down the 182 for the day. You're lucky...Superior has a beautiful view! Have fun and be safe. Edited to add: I thought Nick said that Mark was thinking about opening Superior on select days this winter. If you want to get your winter fix, Wissota is open every Saturday and Sunday, and we jump when the clouds are high enough and its warm enough for the planes to start.
  13. I wonder if they can wear the same size helmet That would be twice as to cute Nope, not that cute. His was an XL that he had to take the top padding out to fit right. Mine was a small and I had to take the padding he took out and put it into mine to make it fit. Although I wish that we had the same size heads. I wouldn't have to waste time and money for a camera helmet.
  14. He got me a Oxygn A3 helmet and I got him a Sidewinder camera helmet.
  15. Don't worry Switzerland. You're helmet won't get scratched doing a superman in the snow, or at least my new helmet didn't on the two that I did last weekend. You'll have to see the video when you're out this weekend.
  16. Hmmm... Get a 2nd or 3rd or 4th job to pay for a rig that you will have no time to jump anyway because you'll be working or get used and have more money and time to jump? Doesn't seem like a hard decision for me! And, if you're profile is right, do you really think that 43 jumps a year is worth having 2 rigs for?
  17. I signed up. The temperature for our helicopter jumps on 1/28/07 was between 0 to -5F on the ground when we took off. The worst part was riding up with no doors!
  18. I think she's referring to the date listed (ie "10/15-16" and not "12/15-16") Oops. I'm blonde, that might explain it.
  19. Let's hope! Also, we can go to the View next weekend and get all the details about the Polar Plunge on New Year's Day. Jamie said she's up for it too. Bring your swimsuit!!
  20. I just had to start the thread 'cause after two weekends of unjumpable weather, we FINALLY got to skydive!!!!
  21. Congrats! My friend Heather became a great aunt two days after I became a regular aunt. It was in 2000 and we were 24 at the time. Needless to say her oldest sister is quite a bit older than she is.
  22. A reserve pillow would have prevented my 2 out situation that I had on my 6th or 7th freefall, but then again, so would have arching after pulling the ripcord. But I would think that a handle is easier for newer jumpers to "locate" in an emergency (easier to feel a metal handle than a pillow). I have a new rig on order and went with a D ring for that reason. I'm sure if it was seriously debated you could add it to the list of the great debates such as "Should you cutaway a pilot chute in tow?", "What is better, a Cypres or a Vigil?", etc. To the OP...Congrats!
  23. Which one of you was it??? http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/22219861/?GT1=10645 On second thought, probably none of us. I'm sure we would have been able to still "stand and function" after.
  24. I found an answer from someone who has a bunch of letters after their name. I think she's a registered dietian and some other nutritional stuff so I know its right... If something is "fat free", it also means that it is "trans fat free". However, if the label states "0g fat", it can contain up to 0.5g of fat per serving and still print "0g fat". So if it is 0g of total fat, it could very well have 0.5g of fat, all of which could be trans fat. So there ya have it...
