  1. Yes...vanilla ice cream (in first) and I.B.C. rootbeer - I.B.C. is the best! "...I've learned that while the "needs" in life are important (food, water, shelter), it's the "wants" in life (ice cream, chocolate, sex) that make it worth the effort." Kbordson
  2. I agree, thanks for posting it! "...I've learned that while the "needs" in life are important (food, water, shelter), it's the "wants" in life (ice cream, chocolate, sex) that make it worth the effort." Kbordson
  3. Congratulations, and I am so jealous! I have yet to get my first rig of my very own You're wearing it around the house, aren't you??? "...I've learned that while the "needs" in life are important (food, water, shelter), it's the "wants" in life (ice cream, chocolate, sex) that make it worth the effort." Kbordson
  4. Great to see you outof S.C. - it gets scarry in there for me, I don't have the nerve to stay there long! Also great to see you still progressing well! I saw a picture of you and Wiley in another thread last week (?) from the USA Today story - you look good up there on his back! I love horses and dogs - Troy reminds me of Icon's dog Karma. All the best to you! "...I've learned that while the "needs" in life are important (food, water, shelter), it's the "wants" in life (ice cream, chocolate, sex) that make it worth the effort." 5. Good God...I didn't think a tattooist could do such a thing as take off huge chunks of skin like that! That wasn't a tattoo, that was a surgical procedure - he had a scalpel! Seriously, I am naive about tattoos...I had no idea they did these types of tats and that they could legally do something like that (- I'm assuming it's legal???). "...I've learned that while the "needs" in life are important (food, water, shelter), it's the "wants" in life (ice cream, chocolate, sex) that make it worth the effort." Kbordson
  6. Thank you both for your answers...this is exactly the answer I was trying to get across in a W.F. thread a couple weeks ago, but it kept going off in the wrong directions - I guess I tried to explain it too much (lesson learned). "...I've learned that while the "needs" in life are important (food, water, shelter), it's the "wants" in life (ice cream, chocolate, sex) that make it worth the effort." Kbordson
  7. I was somewhere around 300 - 400ft. I had just come off the downwind leg for a few seconds and was on the base leg (running mostly parallel w/the runway), eyeballing where it look like the winds would allow me to place my landing. It soon became obvious that I had let the winds take me too far downwind to make it safely back over the runway - I was going to end up on the active runway. So, at the last few seconds before I had to make the final, I turned w/one toggle to the right (about 20 degrees) and then readjusted w/left toggle imput just enough to fly straight and went parallel to the runway, cross-wind for my landing. It wasn't much of a turn...it was mostly knowing not to go for the full final turn, which would put me not only on the runway ( I envisioned broken ankles), but on an active runway at that. I'm not proficient enough w/my landings to guarantee a stand-up on a runway. Hope this makes sense - sometimes it's not easy to articulate what you do. 8. Ditto to what he said, except: -I don't like rap -I will listen to operatic music if sung by Andrea Bocelli (sp?)
  9. Recently got behind the jump when winds kicked up while setting up for landing. Realized, quickly, my trajectory was taking me right onto the runway - too short to make the landing area proper. I could either land into the wind on the runway, or I had just enough time and altitude to turn away and land cross wind and into a muddy field, just the other side of runway. I chose the latter, and was glad. Better a little mud-slide than smack the runway. 10. Well, this is nice to hear! A girl can get the impression that the only ones that matter are the Pam Anderson 'beach-ball' size. P.S. I think most women don't mind you posting on the W.F. as long as it's not troll fun - which, from what I've seen, is rare. Most comments are appreciated if on-subject...those that aren't are just ignored. "...I've learned that while the "needs" in life are important (food, water, shelter), it's the "wants" in life (ice cream, chocolate, sex) that make it worth the effort." Kbordson
  11. Awwwww! That's so sweet - and understandable. It's good to have both - a family that cares, but still doesn't harass you to quit. It's also great that your mom is cool w/finding your dad and is supportive. Much peace and happiness to all of you as you get to know each other. "...I've learned that while the "needs" in life are important (food, water, shelter), it's the "wants" in life (ice cream, chocolate, sex) that make it worth the effort." Kbordson
  12. It was always one of those things that when I saw it on t.v., I'd think "That looks cool! Someday, I'd like to try it." But that's as far as it ever got. I didn't know anyone who was in the sport, so it never came up as a reality. It was something that "somebody" out there did. Then someone I worked with was talking about her weekend skydiving...she convinced me to come w/her after I watched her tandem and student tapes (as much as I wanted to try it, a jump somehow still equaled death to me...the more I watched her tapes, the more I was convinced it could be done w/out dying). I was soooo scared the night before - I couldn't sleep, couldn't eat. I almost backed out. But yet, I went. There was something about jumping that drew me to it. After I came down from my first tandem, I was overwhelmed w/sensory overload, but most definitely happy & hooked!
  13. "... tv producers believe the audience are idiots and treat them poorly" I agree, that's why I don't watch any of the reality show, shock t.v. stuff. I'm not knocking the poster who put it up, or anyone who got a kick out of it but... ... he falls into to the David Blaine/WhoTF Cares category for me. If it served some sort of purpose, like say on "Myth Busters" where they were trying to demonstrate some scientific point/data of one sort or another, it might make it interesting to see him work himself out. But to have someone trying to make a name for himself by manipulating the situation w/faux danger is a waste of my time and NOT entertaining. And the comment by him "...Wow, to realize I only had 5 seconds to impact!" is nauseating. Our sport has plenty of danger built into it just by going out the door. cold pizza

I have 2 words for you: Captain Crunch. I was in Target the other day and saw one of the BIG boxes on sale, and before I knew it bought it. I haven't had the stuff in 15-20yrs. - it's kid cereal for god's sake...but I've been lovin' it! In fact, several evenings this week, instead of making a real dinner, the Captain and I have dined together. Of course, I've also had it for breakfast too. And (she says sheepishly) once for lunch. I don't know what's come over me, but I hope I get over it soon. "...I've learned that while the "needs" in life are important (food, water, shelter), it's the "wants" in life (ice cream, chocolate, sex) that make it worth the effort." Kbordson
  15. This is a cool outcome! What does your dad and brother think of your skydiving, or did it come up?? Just curious - it always seems to draw such strong reactions, one way or the other, from people - but if you don't care to comment for whatever reason, perfectly fine. Glad everything came together and it all went well. "...I've learned that while the "needs" in life are important (food, water, shelter), it's the "wants" in life (ice cream, chocolate, sex) that make it worth the effort." Kbordson
  16. I second that...that's lovely. Thanks. "...I've learned that while the "needs" in life are important (food, water, shelter), it's the "wants" in life (ice cream, chocolate, sex) that make it worth the effort." Kbordson
  17. All I can say to that is "Oh" (the pictures, I mean, as in "Oh, that's what they are"). Thanks. "...I've learned that while the "needs" in life are important (food, water, shelter), it's the "wants" in life (ice cream, chocolate, sex) that make it worth the effort." Kbordson
  18. Well, I'd never seen the bumper sticker but also wouldn't know what it meant either. Yet another sign that I'm officially old - I couldn't hear that new cell phone ring (thread from yesterday), and I didn't know about OBX. I didn't like any of the recent (1999) and on Star Wars movies anyway...so I won't be seeing Vin when it comes out, but at least now I've been enlightened so I can explain what it means to all my other "old" friends when they see it - thanks! "...I've learned that while the "needs" in life are important (food, water, shelter), it's the "wants" in life (ice cream, chocolate, sex) that make it worth the effort." Kbordson
  19. I think it's a comp. - I loved her as the friend in Working Girl w/Melanie Griffith! "...I've learned that while the "needs" in life are important (food, water, shelter), it's the "wants" in life (ice cream, chocolate, sex) that make it worth the effort." Kbordson
  20. Can't hear a thing, and I really cranked the sound up. I do think my poor cat heard it, even though she's about 14 or 15yrs. old - she came into the room and meowed at me in a strange way like "What's goin' on?" "...I've learned that while the "needs" in life are important (food, water, shelter), it's the "wants" in life (ice cream, chocolate, sex) that make it worth the effort." Kbordson
  21. Ohhhh...I'm so happy and proud I got to be part of picking her name - KISMET, WOOOHOOO!!!
  22. OH MY GOD - HOW WONDERFUL, INCREDIBLE, AND JUST GENERALLY FANTABULOUS!!!!
  23. She's sooo sweet I can't stand it! Since she's a Chihuahua, I thought of: Tequila - my favorite Chica - 2nd favorite Chalupa - I love Taco Bell! There's also a term of endearment that I've heard spanish mothers call to their children, but since I took German in high school, I'm at a loss as to how to spell it. But it sounds like "Mee-ha" - I believe it means sweetheart - she's definitely a sweetheart! Anyway, I'm sure someone on here speaks spanish and would know what I'm talking about and how to spell it. "...I've learned that while the "needs" in life are important (food, water, shelter), it's the "wants" in life (ice cream, chocolate, sex) that make it worth the effort." Kbordson
  24. My deepest sympathies to you and your family. "...I've learned that while the "needs" in life are important (food, water, shelter), it's the "wants" in life (ice cream, chocolate, sex) that make it worth the effort." Kbordson
