  1. Also keep in mind that he should have a "Confirmed" address with paypal for you to ship to and you should send it via a reliable/ trackable carrier. Paypal is good, but if it gets lost in the mail or there is no prof that they receive it and you had no insurance on it, he does get all his money back. 3. Best way to get a value on the cypres is to go to the cypres website: http://www.cypres-usa.com/ Look for the link titled: "Used CYPRES Estimated Value Calculator" It's a good easy tool to give you a general idea of what your cypres is worth. As the poster above said, it is a cypres 1, not 2. My quick guess using the calculator, with up to date battery and 8 year check showes a value of $340ish. Drop me a PM if you have any other questions. SereJumper 03-02 We're not fucking flying airplanes are we, no we're flying a glorified kite with no power and it should be flown like one! - Stratostar
  4. Looks like a smooth concrete floor. New ZP and concrete (well anything smooth) don't go well. Try it on some carpet if you have any, it will allow it to slip less. 6. I picked up a canopy the other day, 9-cell, yellow and black with USA on the bottom skin. I presume it was an old Golden Knights canopy. retractible Spider slider (early slider made with "D" links and not grommets). I could not find an maker marks or tags on it. Any ideas? http://s41.photobucket.com/albums/e280/Gearpics/GNCanopy/ We're not fucking flying airplanes are we, no we're flying a glorified kite with no power and it should be flown like one! - Stratostar

  8. I've done most of 1000 + freefalls with either B12's and Quick Ejector Snap hardwear and 250+ military static line with Quick Ejector's. Only problem I had was the metal gate got bent on the B12's once so it was hard to open, just used a screw driver to bent it out and it was good to go. They are much easier to put on and take off, my opinion, everything will come full circle and they will once again be popular! 13. This was a scam, I messaged him telling him I wanted to buy the rig and he sent me a FAKE ebay email telling me that I could only used western union money order (total scam). The message also said: "We know that we encourage every eBay member to use services such as PayPal, Escrow which are safer than Western Union Money Transfer. But is our responsibility to make every option safe and tell that this seller is verified by our services and you can have all the trust in his requests." If you paid through their system, it's not even done through Ebay, so you can't post negative comments in their feedback and Ebay can do nothing to stop them (they would deny it even happened). Maybe they hijacked someone's account. The seller gave this as his name and address: Justin Kurutz 22 Streatham High Road London London SW16 1DB United Kingdom We're not fucking flying airplanes are we, no we're flying a glorified kite with no power and it should be flown like one! - Stratostar

  15. My SCAM flag is out on this one! The seller says that "This transaction will be done through Ebay", but wants you to contact him at his personal email to "buy it now". He says he CAN'T read Ebay email (seriously?), doesn't have a buy it now feature on the auction, and listed it as a 1 day auction (looks like he doesn't want anybody asking questions/ or thinking about this to long). Very sketchy, rule #1...If it's to good to be true...it probaby is. 18. Paracommander packing manuals http://www.ukskydiver.co.uk/cms/index.php?option=com_docman&task=cat_view&gid=278&Itemid=240 Search wind drift indicator (WDI/ Streamers) here on the forums, there is some good info. WDI's in Paragear: http://www.paragear.com/templates/parachutes.asp?group=256&level=2&parent=5 Basically you fly directly over your intended landing area at your expected opening altitude (and most would say spot for your reserve) and throw a couple WDI's out the door. Have the plane circle while keeping your eye on them until they land. Your jump run should be where the WDI's landed to your landing point (where your released the WDI's over). From the time you pass over the WDI's on the ground on jump run, start counting until you reach your landing area (lets say it took 10 seconds to go from WDI to your target). Your exit point will be 10 seconds (example) PAST landing area, so you will be upwind of your target. This technique works well for hop and pops. If you are going up to full altitude, find out what the uppers are doing and factor the push you will get in freefall to your WDI spot. I'm sure there is an old jumper around that can give you a hand. On a side note, the reserve may be airworthy, but it's probably not something you would want to be taking to terminal. Does it have a diaper? What kind is it? 26' Strong LoPo's have a good reputation as round reserves. 19. It depends on the manufacture, as well as if it has articulation (rings), and if you want to reuse your old hardware (if they will let you). Best to go to the manufactures website and they usually have a price list, if not call the manufacture. As an example here is the current prices for a Sunpath Javelin: Replace Harness (Standard) 415.00 Replace Harness (2 or 4 Ring) Using Existing Hardware 495.00 Replace Harness (2 or 4 Ring) Using New Hardware 715.00 Replace Harness (Chest Ring Up) Using Existing Hardware 275.00 Replace Harness (Chest Ring Down) Using Existing Hardware 305.00 Replace Harness (Hip Ring Upwards) Using Existing Hardware 365.00 Replace Harness (Hip Ring Down) Using Existing Hardware 205.00 We're not fucking flying airplanes are we, no we're flying a glorified kite with no power and it should be flown like one! - Stratostar

  21. I know of a jumper that had the exact same problem on his Wings with the new style stainless friction buckles. Made custom on 11/2007. He didn't notice it really until jump 11 on the rig (42 jumps total). He would tighten it down all the way and when we would arch, they would easily slip loose. On opening shock he remembers them loosening up a little, but the tension on the webbing during opening shock was probably harder and would lock up the webbing a couple inches into the slip. He had a master rigger put on the old style friction adapters with the knurled teeth and has had no problems since. He would have set it back but there was no time to send it back and wait in his case.
