  1. Only The Ranch in NY or Cross Keys in NJ Don't be fooled by distance, both are about 1h45mins driving away from the city. Take care. M
  2. I say be proactive when you get there. Go to the store, ask for Pine (instructor/store manager) and tell him about your wing loading and jumps ahead of time. He will make sure nobody gives you problems jumping your rig. Stay safe and have fun.
  3. Big thanks to Kirk, Chris, John, Earl, Sam and the rest of the tunnel crew! I had the best time. Simply amazing. I will make a 9 hour drive to get there as often as I can. Thank you! You guys are what keeps this sport alive
  4. Thanks for reply. Good point, it may have been sold for less
  5. One kid I met this summer, with less than 100 jumps and no prior tunnel time, learned a somehow solid tunnel sit in 45 minutes (he actually clicked after 30...). He had a good coach. I have 2 hrs of tunnel time (all belly) and have another hour coming in 2 weeks I want to spend learning back and sit flying. Will see if it gets me anywhere.
  6. Very fair suggestion. I was hesitant to value it at $2k, but looking at what's being sold in classifieds, and seeing what people I know can spend, it doesn't sound that ridiculous. Especially if it fits the person well. This one, for example, is a Mirage M4, from 05 (but with only 5 jumps) that was sold for 4,200. Without a Cypres and with RMax reserve. http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/classifieds/detail_page.cgi?ID=53186;d=1 I guess it always comes down to timing and what "the market" is willing to pay.
  7. True, but it's fairly new, with very few jumps. If it looks good too, it could be sold for 5k. edit: brand new V3 with all options ~3k. Let's say this one $2k, Cypres valuator shows $950 for Cypres 1, $970 for Cypres2, Sabre2 190 is very popular and I know at least 5 people who want one - 200 jumps I see listing for 1350+, new reserve is 1100, so let's say 800 easy for 06 one. Total: around 5,100. Seems fair to me, but since I'm only an occasional gear looker, not a dealer, thats' why I said I'm not an expert
  8. that's some scary looking equipment... for me, rookie
  9. nah, too high - 2500 seems about right. Did I mention I will buy it from you too? I can pay right now I'd guess around 5000 -5500... but it's a wild guess
  10. Titusville is by far my least favorite dz in FL
  11. that's low want to share their email address so I can bother them with some spam in return?
  12. Excuse my possible ignorance, but red flags shoot all over the place for me. It's quite embarrassing on your AFFI part.
  13. Even though I'm very new to skydiving, I've heard/read this from new jumpers (yet to be jumpers) so many times already, it scares me. It is nothing against you, just a general statement. Being new to this all, you will soon realize how little you know. Even funnier is, the more you learn over time, the more you will realize that you don't know anything at all But if that's what motivates you, go for it. Skydiving is a great journey.
  14. It is a possibility that you faxed it to their old fax number from the yellow card They moved a while ago and their numbers changed. Happened to me last year. My experience says they're usually pretty quick.
  15. Yes, I did one tandem years ago, and now I'd freak out if I had to do one hahahah It's not that I perceive them unsafe, it's the feeling of not having my own parachute. It's kind of funny actually.
  16. Not sure about non skydiving IMHO Skydiving could be a pain - closest DZ sucks, and Crosskeys and Ranch are about 2hr 30mins mins away...
  17. If I remember correctly, he said something about shooting himself in a foot jokingly of course
  18. Just wanted to thank Jeff Nebelkopf and TonySuits for getting me through my first WS jump (Aerobat). With Jeff's recommendation I did a couple skydives yesterday focusing on stable exit and pull sequence, and then he took me on a sunset load for my first flight! I was so nervous, but had sooo much fun. I think I'm still shaking now I need to work a little more on my deployment though, as I was dipping my left shoulder a little (and maybe have a little more arch). Anyway, I want to thank him again. He truly rocks. I can't wait to flock now (given more experience of course ) Now I know what it means to fly. PS Anybody with a student demo suit I can borrow?
  19. That thing is a monster! I'm happy I bought an hour already
  20. that stuff was cheesy hahah you should have handed him a wingsuit, rig, give that expected 5 minutes of instruction and watch the cypres fire at 750ft well and a possible new host for the program but that would be mean
  21. Neptune 2 has been coming out for like 3 months now and I still can't wait
