Thanks Phil. Now if I could only find those pics I saw here of Tony's "water landing" launching from a moving truck...

Hey all, Just read a comment about water landing and PR boogie and combining the two with wingsuits drew my attention. As almost impossible as I think it is to place myself in this situation, it may happen as I am just a human and tend to make mistakes. So I realized I need to refresh my water training procedures with addition of a wingsuit in the picture. I did some search, found an old thread from 2002 - water emergency procedures. In this thread I can find great advice from a) birdman manual: b) Chuck: My questions: Since that thread (2002) has anyone been in a situation that required water landing? What was your procedure (e.g. flotation device, cutting wings, swimming in a suit, etc)? Words of wisdom/anything you would want to update from that thread? [edit] found another thread for more reference from '04 - Landing in deep water

unfortunately, it also seems to be a pattern that those same people are quick learners (have mad skills) in their own eyes (whether that be wingsuits, canopy downsizing, flying head down, etc)

This is Incorrect!! You Never want to REACH while trying to dock you wil only find yourself everywhere else but docking when reaching.... The tunnel is a great place to learn, expensive but well worth it.... you will progress fast with tunnel coaching, but sometimes you will need to tweak what you learned a hair when it comes to a skydive since your now wearing a parachute on your back..... Hahahaha This is priceless. A 100 jump wonder telling Kirk is wrong at RW. Classic.

I'd add another one 3) Don't ask what wingsuit you should buy on dz.com and assure people you won't even try it before 200 jumps but then go ahead and post on the same dz.com that you did it because you got mad skills /not directed at anyone //just an observation from many posts here on dz.com ///wish people jumped more that they posted //// it's too cold for me to jump but i better stop posting

pros and cons? gee lets see pro: it's a wingsuit con: it's not a hot naked chick hope that clears it for ya a little bit con2: it's not a tonysuit/pf

As long as you don't do it on our DZ... man, now I have to keep more attention to who I will be sharing loads with...

i jump with neptune and visio and both will be about 5% different from each other

What stupid laws? No laws ban him skydiving. You scream ignorance every time you open your mouth on these forums... just like on the basejumper. Think twice before you write, you troll

What's on your wish list???
michalm21 replied to gsxrjumper720's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
It has to be a new job ... in FL. That would be my wish at least. -
I'm sorry freeflysteve, this is very unfortunate for you. I hope you heal fast and keep a positive attitude. Blue skies
-
and why would I do that?

I was the only one doing AFF as I realized it was not a season for skydiving the time I started A whole DZ, I haven't seen more then a couple of fun jumpers and tandems that day. Had 2 instructors available, and if I remember correctly I showed up around 9am, was done with ground school at around 12-1pm (with a written "test" at the end and including a few breaks in between) BTW, it was awesome, it felt like I had a whole DZ focused on me

only the first time you buy it, price is subsidized by att after that 399 and 499 I believe
-
I wish this thread died already

it would be a smart thing to do except that there is no insurance on iphones. not from the att, not from apple, not from anyone. actually there is one site i found today that insures iphones for $120 for 2 years + 50 deductible but the phone must be purchased within last 30 days. anyway, it has to be the only phone you cannot buy insurance for at the store
-
So my clumsiness finally caught up with me. After refusing to use a case to protect my iphone (plastic cover on couches analogy) I got what I deserved... phone slipped out of my jacket pocket and bounced off of a couple of concrete steps After $200 for repair, I will make sure to use the most awful looking case as long as it prevents it from happening again (or apple could just make the screen more durable...) But anyway, ouch. today is not my day

Questions to ask when buying a new computer...
michalm21 replied to selbbub78's topic in The Bonfire
Wow, that's almost word for work what I was going to say... [Mac and a PC owner with Winxp/Linux Ubuntu] -
then maybe he can cut you a deal

Yup. It may be a little cheaper if you send it to PD, but I didn't want to wait and had it done by our rigger. reline is $260 for spectra at PD + 20 inspection + $25(?) shipping your canopy back and forth). I don't have the invoice, but it was around $350 for lines, installation and inspection (tax included) at the loft

wouldn't do WU, but bank transfer, check, or paypal is fine. Paypal has insurance but will have a fee on the total of 2.9% (corrected from post below) but the safest would be cash
