    ya know, there's at least 5 things in that paragraphs there that "today's" liberals would have you arrested for What about people like me who are liberal on some issues, but not on others? For instance, I would rather leave the abortion issue alone for a woman to decide, but I am totally against gun control. The powers that be have been very successful in splitting us right down the middle, when in fact it is much more complex than that.     There seems to be some worldwide tradition of young blacks gunning eachother down. Over here we pretty much gave up and let them go at it, and try to keep out of the way.     Kids in the USA used to bring their guns to school for hunting after school and school marksmanship clubs. At some point people decided that this was a bad idea, and soon after this gun mystification/fear mongering the school shootings started. And for polar bear, does a shotgun really cut the mustard?     I'm a little confused about why the U.S. prosecutors want him. Hubris? What made Nifong do what he did? I have said it before and I'll say it again - our legal system is fucked. Many times, when a prosecutor should charge someone, they screw it up somehow, with or without the bungling of police.     I learned way more about life and what is important in the military than I did in high school. Most people don't know their asshole from a hole in the ground coming out of high school. It's hard to say if other services and trades get the same out of the military though. I was in a fairly technical field in the Navy. I'd guess that grunts have a decidedly different experience.     I'm with you. Even dumb people know when they don't like the way a government is operating(NOT calling you dumb!!). When the policies directly affect your life in a negative way, you don't need any classes in critical thinking to know it fucking pisses you off. I do think we need a draft by lottery in this country.     I've got the DVD. Denise Richards is fucking hot! But I digress..... I did join the military out of a sense of duty and service. I think every American should take some time to serve in one form or another - but not necessarily in the military. There are lots of people I would rather not have in the same foxhole.     If it's OK to limit the amount of money you can sue them for, aren't you limiting the income of lawyers and clients? Also, other professions sometimes agree to a lower wage in order to save the business.
