    In most staes, any talk (online or not) soliciting sex from a minor under a certain age is a felony, so there was a crime. Having said that, there were a few of those Dateline cases that seemed a little iffy. In some cases the guy told the girl several times to back off on the sex talk, but the 'decoy' kept chipping away, over the course of weeks of chats. To me, that is the decoy 'grooming' the supposed 'predator'.     The pleading guilty part kinda balances things out... Yes, but it's understandable. He wanted the quick answer to try and avoid embarrassment. He should have fought it - he would have won.     I went back and read the police report and it seems to me that he really did't do anything illegal at all. In fact, his explanation seems plausible. The whole basis for the arrest was the foot tapping and the fact that he had a roller bag. As far as why prostitution is illegal, well, not my department. The net results are not the same between prostitution and pornography. Prostitution is one person payinganother for sex. Pornography is one person paying one or two people to videotape the sexual act for distribution. Hence, if you hire a prostitute and videotape it for yourself, it's prostitution. If you hire a prostitute and videotape it for distribution to others, then it's pornography.     The problem I have is with ANYBODY who says, "You are being fooled. I know the truth, and you don't. Follow me. I am the person capable of leading you to the truth and the promised land." And with any conspiracy theorist, this is exactly the case. The Kennedy Assassination conspiracies are but an example. There are literally HUNDREDS of different theories - each one with a theorist who suggests that he or she alone knows the REAL answer. "Secret societies" in ITSELF says, "There are groups that you don't know about. I know this stuff that you don't. Come with me and let me show you the light." I guess I just operate as a cynic. I am in a 'secret society' to which a local judge also belongs. If I go to trial for some reason down the road, I'd be willing to bet he helps me out.     A pit bull is a domestic pet. When you go hunting, most do it for sport, as well as food. When I got my buck a few years ago, I didn't make it fight another buck to the death for my own amusement and then torture the loser to death for not winning. I dispatched the buck as quickly and cleanly as possible. I train long and hard to be a good shot, so as not to cause undue suffering. When I do kill an animal, I eat it or share the meat. What Michael Vick did was to cause suffering for his own pleasure, In order to maximize the pleasure they tortured and killed the weaker dogs so that only the strongest would fight, and the fights would be spectacular.
