Hey here I dont know what this means but I think its really cool. Thursday at skydive deland we lost a good friend. But the same day we recieved a new one in the form of a white dove. He has been hanging out at the dz ever since and he likes people. I think its a sign a good one. what do you think? Hook low Flare late

Unfortunitely evidence is labeled public so the news has a right to the tape. I dont agree with it but the police had to turn over the tape as soon as it was labeled not homicide evidence.. I know everyone involved with the accident very well and no copies were sold. The person with the tape wont even let anyone watch it out of respect. Evidently there is a very sad beginning because lee looked into his own camera and said I'll see you on the ground. Also they took a lot of pictures on the tower before the jump. But none of those are going to be released. Lee was well loved by his friends and what happend after was his rules. Dont be mad at anyone they only did what lee wanted. Hook low Flare late

Lee was one of the best people I knew. Very dynamic and free spirited. And most of all a very dear friend. He's with the skycarions now. Its a story he used to tell about spirits that wanted you to fly with them all the time not just for freefall and when your ready they take you to fly and be one of them. He will be missed by all Hook low Flare late

I was just looking at the new ad for mirage. And they are advertising their mill spec fittings. I was just wondering what a mill spec end fitting is. And if it is a Mill spec fitting as Mirage claim what mill spec category does it fall under? As far as I can find out there is no mill spec for the cutaway system as this falls in the category of main systems. I might be wrong but I think there should be a little truth in advertising. If it is a Mill spec system it came from parafilte and they would have certified the system with a large three ring system which we know is a much more efficient system. Hook low Flare late

How long before you felt video proficient?
Rdutch replied to SniperCJ's topic in Photography and Video
Its not really about jump numbers. When you can fly yourself where yo want to be without having to think about it your probably ready to get started. Take it slow and dont try and video jumps you wouldnt want to jump on without a camera. Also falling through a formation isnt bad too get the best coverage on a team so you catch all the points you need to be as steep as possible and this takes a long time to learn to fly the burble. And the only way to find out how to do that is to fall. Sometimes you can catch it and wit a little practice you will learn it. Ray Dutch Team FROST Hook low Flare late -

I am fortunite to live in Deland where PD is located and I see all the design and testing they do. I cant tell what their testing because they dont put labels on their R&D but they jump the hell out of their designs. Then they give them to their teams to put hundreds of jumps on them and still they work out and change things. I saw the velocities being jumped a year before they were released. I cant comment on the other companies but Reputation in this sport means a lot. And buying something because its cheaper usually means that the R&D money might not have been spent. They spent a whole hour giving him uspa awards it was pretty cool. He has done a lot in the sport Hook low Flare late

Are you sure it was the skydiving and not the sex Hook low Flare late

How about the possibility of reserve entanglements from cutting away a high wing loaded canopy I wouldnt want an rsl opening a high speed spinning mal from my velocity. But then again I have never tried it thats why I asked bill booths opinion Hook low Flare late

Bill I wasnt talking about the skydiver forum I was talking about the story at the dropzone.com home page. I have a few discrepancies with it and was just wondering what you think Hook low Flare late

Well I had the opportunity to do something any ex student wishes. I had the oportunity to pie Pine Pinnar the guy who taught me to skydive. The hardest thing about it everyone was scared to do it so I had to dig for volunteers. Pine did his 10,000 jump last week. And there was a celebration at skydive deland. I dropped my pc5 and the same thing happened it cracked and the tape wouldnt eject. They refused my warranty and they also told me that even if it was covered they wouldnt do it for free because it was used skydiving Hook low Flare late

Ringsites and camera angles are basically a personal choice. Some camera flyers especially tandem videographers (that dont sit) prefer to tilt the camera angle up a slight amount to ease neck strain getiing the upper shot. But freeflyers usually point the camera down a bit so that when head down you get a good shot of the whole body. You can practice honing your sight skills at home walk around with your helmet on and camera recording and take shots of things on the ground level and above to get used to your site. I allways have a dream i'm falling too slow for my canopy to inflate and when I hit the ground I take my gear off and kick it for not working. Hook low Flare late

My stelletto 107 takes at least 1000 feet to open I shoot 4way video and i dump when the team breaks off and we are usually open at the same altitude. When I jump my velocity theres a big difference. Both canopies open slowly but the stilleto snivels more. Hook low Flare late

I do a lot of consecutive jumps filming teams so I have a lot of times to play around with my packing styles. I have tried everything double wrapping rubber bands single wrapping rubber bands folding the nose flaking the outside and the inside. I have found the best way to get my stilletto to open is to not mess with it. just Flake and put it in the bag. But my velocity thats a different story every canopy deserves different treatment try packing it the same way five times in a row the same way and then try something new maybe log what you did and how it opened. Then you will come to what your canopy likes done Ray Hook low Flare late
