Everything has been covered so well all I have is a few tips. One thing I make sure of is I remember which way jump run is flying and when I open I do a quick turn off the line of flight. I have filmed enough people screaming by me, I dont like it. Also I try and watch the tail on exit when he leaves the team usually follows so I go when his feet move. A lot of camera flyers I know watch the inside center but if the tail is low and outside this will get you in trouble. Also the 3 exits covered all can be used depending on what the team is exiting. I like to lead the team whenever the tail is in your face (Hanging outside the plane and low snowflakes, hammers ect). Good thing is most inexperienced teams usually exit the meeker for those. When the team is more inside or all the way inside I like to leave exactly with the team or even a little after, that gets the best shot (BUT) can also get you into trouble. Most cameramen dont get good until they have fallen into an exit or two. My team when I started made me do it so I can see how close is too close. The reason I asked this is I had an Email conversation with Kurt Gabel for the FSL. And he expressed to me that any camera person that doesnt cover his slot expenses isnt a team member but a paid employee. And no different than a packer or a coach. I disagree, I wanted to get other feedback and input. I have to put my life on hold for a team and be there for practice and also camera's arent cheap as well as camera suits. Also you cant fun jump when your training and its hard work to pack and dub in a 20 minute call. Anyway just checking the overall input Ray Small and fast what every girl dreams of!

I havent seen any for sale but I did see some funy stuff this weekend. Someone broke out an old pc he had rigged to pull behind a boat. Well it diddnt fly too well and Troy from skydiving magazine got a good short flight right into the grass and then into the water. Anyway he's not hurt except his pride and pc's dont make very good toys. Ray Small and fast what every girl dreams of!

I just recently upgraded my pc1 to a used pc5 with a few jumps on it. I like it a lot it turns on faster than my pc1 and the editing features are better. Its a lot lighter and the battery lasts a lot longer. But for skydiving any camera made by sony is good you dont really get to use most of the features provided in freefall anyway. So I recomend the pc5 Ray Small and fast what every girl dreams of!

I use a sony .06 for 4 way video and tandems. But for freeflying I find it way to narrow so I have a kenco .42 that I use. You can find all these lenses online at pierltd.com or bhphotovideo.com Also Max cohn has an excellent .03 lens that I wish I owned for freeflying its real small so it limits your chances or catching your risers on your lens opening. and Its a real nice lens Ray Small and fast what every girl dreams of!

As a proffessional videographer I can only say how can you not use a camera condom. freefall isnt the best environment for your sensitive electronic device. Also it acts as a shield from slight bumbs that can occur. Its well worth the $25 you spend to protect your $1000 investment. Ray Ray Small and fast what every girl dreams of!

As a rule I trust my rigger. But I usually take my main out when I get a repack. I know of a few people that have given there rigs to be repacked and the rigger was lazy and diddnt repack the main just put it back and it was backwords. Theres a good video of jimmy trantor opening and his pilot chute is in front of the canopy (chop chop) wouldnt want to land a velocity backwords. So I always pack my main myself after a repack Hook low Flare late
