Everyday I look at the D10's online, I get to the checkout and I just cant click the Buy icon. Im afraid that the second I do, Canon will release a newer cheaper, better camera. Has anyone heard any rumors about anything new in the Works from Canon? I talked to Norman Kent and he said he likes the Camera but it just isnt good enough yet for him, he wanted the Kodak but it wasnt fast enough. So should I just suck it up and buy the D10 or wait for the next best thing to come out? Ray Small and fast what every girl dreams of!

I heard that if you fly a pro-trac your skill wont improve, its really hard to get more than 119 seconds of freefall while flying it. I think it has something to do with the weight and placement of the protrac, with the gravitational pull while wearing it. Nope, but a lot of us Skydive Delandian's (that a word?) will be at Zhills saturday August 16 for the Swoop Day at Zhills! Oh yeah BirdMan will be there with Demo's and instruction also that weekend, and there is a rumor that Alti2 might show up with some Neptune Demo's. I can give you my opinion, I have 2100 jumps and 4 cutaways, all of them are under extremely highly loaded mains, and none of them (The Mal's) were pretty. I Cutaway, and waited to roll over, then pulled my reserve. Oh sorry, I have 5 cutaways, I put a jump on the skyhook test rig, with my Velocity 96. I just put my order in today for my new Vector3 with the skyhook. After jumping it, and seeing it test jumped over, and over, and over, and over, ect. I think it is a great idea. You are right to think about waiting for a product to prove itself, and who wouldn't. But based on what I have seen with my own eyes, and experienced, I have no problem having a skyhook in my rig. Look around, ask questions, and form your own opinion. Whatever you decide is best for you, is best for you. Ps, did you check out the movie Breakaway yet? Im at the dropzone and I was doing something (dont remember exactly what) but a friend of mine asks me to come over, I walk over and he says this is lisa, I think I showed confusion in my face, cause he laughs a little and says Skybitch. 10 Skydive Deland swoopers, (Including me) are going to Zhills, Sat August 16 for a day of Pond swoop excitement. Jari from birdman will be there swooping, but there will be Birdman Demo's and instruction. We are getting coaching from Pd factory team member's, it should be a fun! Lol, this guy comes into the gear store at my dz today, and puts a Wings rig, with Birdman embroidery on the counter. He then describes how his friend decided to quit skydiving and just gave him the rig. Brand new wings with a cypress, and a Pd reserve and crossfire2 main. Everyone in the store immediately knew something was fishy and started to question the idiot. He then says Oh well, Im gonna leave and walks out with the rig, Crash caught him in about 10 seconds and the guy says "this is too complicated you know what you can have the rig, I dont want it." and hauls ass. Lucky someone got his tag. The funniest thing is Asaf, the new manager of birdman was just walking in the store, talk about your luck. Of course you will have to do this over unpopulated areas. But Paintball under canopy, that would be fun as hell. Two to Four skydivers exit the plane about 15 seconds apart. Then they try to close and shoot the other person, while trying to avoid being shot. Could be fun, definitely dangerous. Umkay, what part of your original reply to me had anything to do with new jumpers or people making bad decisions? Actually what part of anything in this post series did that happen? Kolla mentioned a new (stilletto like) canopy, which in my opinion should never be jumped by an amateur pilot, velocities included should NEVER! be jumped by someone that cant fly them. Kolla has hundred's of jumps and is a very competent canopy pilot, so based on what I said, she is well capable of flying a Velocity. No hard feelings at all, and I dont see why you would say that. Nothing I said had anything to do with you, Ron Hill or anything you chose to include. I did not mislead anyone that reads this forum, and in anyway try to persuade a person to jump a canopy they cannot fly. I do agree with you that people are jumping canopies they have no reason to be flying. (search my posts about Ron's idea on bsr's, as a matter of fact I have posted many times on the responsability of the jumper, with a small canopy having responsability to himself as well as everyone in the air with him) I have talked about this time and time again, on dz.com as well as with people that come to my dropzone. Im currently using a diamond .03 for 4way and everything else. For Tandems I use the sony .06 (30 mm) Because I zoom during the pre jump and post jump filming, and the diamond wont let you. But I am not really concerned with how close they match, im used to flying for a pic while shooting video. And with the digital, Im sure I will be able to dial it in in a fe jumps due to the amount of pic's I can take during a jump. Thanks for the offer on the pic's I would like to see them, before I spend $700 on a lens, I would rather buy the 15 and maybe a lens for ground shooting. Im in the process of buying a Canon D10, and I was looking into lens's. I curently use a 28 on my rebel2000. And I know that wont work to good because of the 1.6 conversion. I looked at the sigma 15 fisheye, and I read here it is a good lens, but I dont know if I want the fisheye effect always. I noticed sigma makes a non fisheye 14 but it is a lot more expensive. Is it worth paying the extra for the non fisheye lens? And are the sigma lenses any good? I know no matter how good a camera is, if the lens isnt then you dont have a good camera. Im also considering buying a good lens for ground photography, anyone have any ideas on what I should consider buying? Thanks Ray Small and fast what every girl dreams of!

Ive had a few cutaways with my camera, My #1 Rule is dont film the cutaway. I have a ring site and the last thing I want is my riser's catching on my site. I made my site clean it is one piece, none of those adjustable sites that have extra places for lines, ect to catch. My usual is to look down and tilt my head so that my camera is as far away from catching anything as possible. Then cutaway. I have a friend that is lucky to be alive, from filming his canopy as he cut it away. First thing you should do is try and make your camera helmet as clean as possible. These was a packer in DeLand that claimed her rig had this done to it. Don't remember her name, but I remember that no one really believed her. Ron Thanks Ron, and thanks for reminding me, I cant believe I forgot the one in Deland, It was a packer named Nancy, it happed a few years ago, no one believed her, because she pulled her reserve for no reason, but there was a girl that she fired a few days before, that was reported to be violent, and not mentally stable, and her own mother called the dz to report that her daughter had stolen from her and was suposedly heading that way. Another rig was found just after the first, with the same problem (reserve cable cut, and a rubber band was tied onto it and shoved back into the channel). The owner of the second rig was also a packer, so this kinda makes it look like it was the girl that got fired, but no one is sure. I dont know what came of it.
