  1. QuoteA. She had so much makeup on she looked like a clown.Quote Hey now, that sounds like my Ex Girlfriend, She might be old and look like a Clown but at least she can entertain you by squeeking her nose. Ray Small and fast what every girl dreams of!
  2. Thanks for replying, it adds a little clarification, to what was going through your mind, and how it happened. One more thing (!BEER!). keep safe. Ray Small and fast what every girl dreams of!

  4. John Loken and Mad Dog Maguire were the first to ever do this, they did it at Skydive Deland about 4 years ago, both wore a suit which was a little overkill but they said it flew great Ray Small and fast what every girl dreams of!
  5. Low turn Stilletto 135 1.4 Student (of course something big) saber 170, 100 jumps stilletto 135, hooked it in on my 300th jump. Shattered Femur, not enough bone left to compound. $10,000 6 months, a nasty limp for life. Basically I should be DEAD! one second Im having a fun jump, a second later thats it. It taught me a good lesson, I have said it, but what I learned and preach. Its better to take a year to learn how to do something right, instead of wishing you had for a lifetime. O can fly the shit out of my canopy now, but I took 2 years after my accident to even attempt a hook turn. Now I understand everything a lot better, and to add, I see a lot of the old me in a lot of the new skydivers. Ray Small and fast what every girl dreams of!
  6. I personally prefer the Merlin camera suit. Christine has over 2000 Camera jumps so she knows what a camera suit should do. This of course is my OPINION I love my suit, some might choose other's. But I just wanted to give you my opinion. Also it depends on what kind of suit you want, there is a few difft kinds of camera suit, sit suit, flip flop, competition, ect. But I just did my 800th jump on my Competition 4 way Merlin suit and all I have had to fix was new velcro on my wing attatchments. If I buy a new one its because I want new colors. Have fun with your new suit, whichever you choose, try looking at all the companies web sites that may help you decide. Ray Small and fast what every girl dreams of!
  7. I put them in this order, cause this is my (OPINION) of the order. Im curious to what evereyone thinks the results are going to be. This is for the Mens division. Ray Small and fast what every girl dreams of!
  8. My brother when he was 15, Instant Death Syndrome, its where your heart cant regulate how fast it beats and beats too fast and hurts itself, swelling up closing the arteries. He was dead 4 1/2 minutes. He said he doesnt remember much, but when he woke from his Coma 4 weeks later he knew he had died and everyone that was there. Ray Small and fast what every girl dreams of!

  10. The person who did, or should I say Did a bad job of a gear check was the Jumper. As he wasnt a student he was responsable for what he was jumping. Instructors at a busy Dz cant watch out for everyone, all the time. The jumper should have asked someone to help him if he had any questions, it was 100% the person that jumped the rig's fault. He was taught to do a gear check, and for some reason he chose not to, or forgot. Ray Small and fast what every girl dreams of!
  11. On my profile I have it set to email reply's. But I dont get any replys. I have deleted my cookies but I doubt that is the problem. And checked my Email to see if they arent getting blocked or sent to the Trashcan. Any idea's? Ray Small and fast what every girl dreams of!
  12. Just like the Monkey said, not recomended, but people do use them. I won't let anyone do their first jump with a pull out. Once you have a few jumps under your belt, its up to you, but still not advised. Ray Small and fast what every girl dreams of!
  13. Femur club represent! Member since Christmas Eve 1999. 300 Jumps knew everything, jumping a Stilletto 135. Hooked it in good, I still remember what I thought to myself right when I realised I was gonna pound in "Dammit I just killed myself" Lucky for me I was wrong, and I have great video of it, my camera was on, and no one turned it off when they removed it. Rod: Titanium, still have it today, I want it out but it's too expensive. They went in through the knee, but a lot of people I know had it put in through the ass. I have knee problems today because of it, i wish they went through the back. The only reason it didnt compound is because there wasnt enough to poke a hole, I shattered it all the way down, I even gave myself a black eye with my own foot as It flipped around and kicked me square in the eye. All I got for Christmas that year was some Morphine and a Rod. But it taught me a good lesson. Ray Small and fast what every girl dreams of!
  14. Yes he knew it was small and that is why he chopped it. Ray Small and fast what every girl dreams of!
  15. If your interested in a Camp, I am always available for coaching see me at the Dz and we can arrange a day for it. Also next time I jump, I might arrange it for you to follow us out, so you can see exactly what I am doing. There is definitely a need for new cameramen to learn the basic's. There is a few things that will keep you safe, exactly like you said equipment ect. But with practice flying a camera can be rewarding. Ray Small and fast what every girl dreams of!

  17. After the 3rd case I know of, a jumper grabbing the wrong rig and ending up under an extremely small canopy. All three cases the jumpers had less than 50 jumps, and all ended up jumping canopies under 100 sq ft. Two of the cases the jumpers landed the main just fine, one didnt realise until he landed, and the third cut away and landed a small reserve. Now the best answer to this is not to do it, but thats easier said than done. All three times the rigs didnt look like the rigs they ended up jumping, except for Make, and a similar color. The rig yesterday was all grey, while the rig supposed to be jumped was grey and orange. None of them were similar size, heck one was so small and the jumper so big it is amazing that he even could fit in the rig. Here is the question? If you do find yourself under a canopy you realize is way smaller than your used to, do you land it, or cut away? Landing it is one thing, but cutting away leaves another problem, what size reserve, what kind of reserve ect. You have no idea. Another thing is do you want to get rid of your open canopy to take your last chance? All of these incedents ended up fine, but could have easily ended up bad. But after sitting around talking about it, no one could agree on if he should have landed the main or jumped the reserve. Ray Small and fast what every girl dreams of!
  18. Most lenses use two or more lenses, the BlueEye is one solid piece of glas, this confuses the camera and it thinks that the out of focus is in focus. You need to put it in manual and focus it yourself, then put some gaffer tape over the focus ring. Auto focus in freefall isnt really a good idea, that confuses the camera a lot, as it doesnt know what exactly it is looking at, clouds, people, ground ect. I always used infinity until I got my diamond, then I had to change to manual, with fine results. The only problem I have had is zoom, which is slightly limited. Good luck, and Im sure someone will answer with the Technical specifications of why this happens. Ray Small and fast what every girl dreams of!
  19. I was just wondering - without a guide ring, isn't it possible that a standard RSL will bend a reserve pin when pulling at a wrong angle? I always thought that that's why manufaturers inslude one or even two RSL guide rings (so that the ring direct a pull force "in line" with the reserve pin). I am just trying to become smarter skydiver...
  20. NOOOOO, never try this. If you fired your Pc in a total it would be connected to your rsl by the lanyard, effectively not allowing it to work. The skyhook is designed to release in the event of a total, allowing the PC to work normally, and in the event of a Malfunctioning canopy, when released it acts as your Pc. 21. If your looking for a house to Buy call skykdive Deland and ask for Pine, he is selling his house, if you want to rent there is a ton of renter property for skydivers in town. Or at least rooms for rent in good houses till you find something. Anyway when you come look me up, Ill gladly help you out. Ray Small and fast what every girl dreams of!
  22. but I do plan to get up with him soon. One thing I can say is take your time, with your experience, its all learning, and the bigger the better, we all learn from mistakes, and we all have em. The only thing is the bigger the canopy you fly the more forgiving the mistake. There is a Ton of skydivers with broken bones, or even worse (need I say it) Walk slowly, well actually crawl, then walk, then Jog, and then if you choose after jogging a lot run slowly. What you saw us doing this weekend with our canopies took thousands of jumps. Its definitely a long hard road, but if you take your time and dont downsize and most of all, if someone says your not ready, especially if more than one person, then your probably not ready. Quote I learned myself from life, "its better to spend a year learning to to do something, than to spend a year (recovering) wishing you had". Either way be safe and take care, most of all dont rush. 23. I can testify, I see Jari out in his Pantz all the time, and he gets mad P-Tang. Its definitely the pantz thats doing it for him. Cool thing about pantz the look good in the air, and you can wear them to a rave. Ray Small and fast what every girl dreams of!
  24. Welcome to the Flock, definitely camera suits and bird man suits are different, but with camera exp its alittle easier. Have fun, oh yeah as far as a camera suit goe's, I think the 9 ft bridle that most birdmen jump will also benifit the Videots that jump camera suits, the burble on them can be nasty, I will definitely post my results on the Video forum soon. 25. First off, I want to know how many reserves you have packed? Second how many vector3 reserves have you packed? Now I want to know have you ever looked at the Vector packing manual? Or the addition to the manual for the V3? Cause if you have what you are describing makes no sence at all. In your 341 jumps do you think that you are making news to the hundreds of riggers out there about gear they have packed thousands of times? Riggers follow manufacturer's standards but they also have a mind of their own, and who would put their seal on a rig that they asked you to put the pc material on the side? Maybe your rigger doesnt like the Vector, and that is his personal opinion, maybe your rigger packs Vectors wrong, but you should look into something and make your own mind up, and really really understand what you are talking about before you go into an International forum and talk about something you have very little knowledge of. (Especially based on the whole WORLD of Riggers and jumpers out there that know your statement is false). I still have my packing manual from my v2.5 (Vector 3 but pre release of v3) and it is exactly the same. Also to point out the Vector 3 isnt Narrow its quite wide, you might be talking about the Micron which is narrow, but they are packed the same way. Now your rigger and dzo might have their own way of packing Vectors, by tucking the Reserve PC fabric down the sides. But No where in the Manual has it ever said to tuck the fabric down the sides. People love to talk shit, heck I heard a story today about why someone thought Sigma tandems are bad, because Golf Balls can catch a line, anyone that knows anything about the sigma can find a laugh in that. I would just like to point out that this poster has 341 jumps, and knows nothing about Rws and their products, he heard hearsay, and decided he would print his hearsay. If you have any question about any rig ask the manufacturer. And most of all look into it, and make your own mind up. I have packed the V3 reserve at RWS with RWS supervision. And never once did they tell me to put the reserve pc fabric down the side of the pack job, it has always been under the cap (slightly). Not in the spring like some do, heck look at the manual and you will see, Im sure its on the RWS web site. Ray Small and fast what every girl dreams of!
