  1. Congratulations! I did 43 in one day earleir this year, the goal was 50 but an injury stopped it early. I dont know if I was more happy or dissapointed. It definitely was the hardest skydiving day of my life, but also a lot of fun. Ray Small and fast what every girl dreams of!
  2. Any word on a US release? And how comparable is it to the 10D. I looked around and there is a lot of rumors about a new camera to replace the d60 somewhere better than the 10D but priced similar. Ray Small and fast what every girl dreams of!
  3. While I dont agree with anyone deciding what canopy you can fly, I do agree that a lot of people are flying canopies they arent ready for. This weekend we had a great example, and a lot of Humble Pie was eaten. We held a Pond swooping weekend at Zhills, while a lot of people had great swoops, a lot of people ended up finding out what they were capable of. Just landing a parachute doesn't mean you can fly it, as a lot of people found out. I saw some real good swoops from people flying stilletto 150's and I saw some horrible landings with people flying much smaller canopies. The decision to downsize should have nothing to do with if you can land a canopy, it should be if you can put that canopy where you want it, when you want it "EVERYTIME". Everyone that wants to downsize, should look good and think "WHY" is my bigger canopy completely boring, do I think I will look cool jumping this smaller one? Why do I want to downsize. Rickster Powell did 1500 jumps on a 200+ sq foot canopy before he ever thought of jumping something smaller, with todays standards the trend is to fly the smallest canopy possible as soon as you can. What we get is a lot of people under canopies that they cant fly, they can land them but they cant fly them. Jumping a highly wingloaded canopy takes a lot more than people think, you have the responsability to everyone in the air with you, to make sure you can safely make your flight plan to get you safely on the ground without endangering everyone below you, and around you. Also landing where you want to is one thing, but doing it in a crowd is another, people need to have the judgement to decide that 270's and 360' maybe arent the best choice at the time, sometimes you have to land straight in, I have seen it 100 times where someone risked their life and other peoples because they had to hook. Im just trying to point out that with a high wingloading, you need to be able to fly the canopy, the pattern, think of everyone around you. If you cant 100% be safe in the air with that canopy, you need to fly something bigger. WHen you can fly your canopy where you want to when you want to, and you are in total control then maybe just maybe you might be capable of going smaller. Just cause you can Land a canopy without killing yourself, doesnt mean you should be jumping that canopy. Ray Small and fast what every girl dreams of!
  4. First off I want to thank all that made this possible, TK, the staff at skydive Zhills, and especially Ian Bobo. Thanks also to Jari and the Bird-Man crew. Without you this wouldn't have happened. Second I want to thank all that attended, we had a lot of fun, had some great swoops and drank some beer, and best of all NO INJURIES! Oh yeah WE DRANK SOME BEER! The staff at skydive city made everything run smooth, and we never missed a load (Well Superfly Billy andrews missed his first load "BEER!" too bad he didnt have a cameraman to tell him his load was boarding). The coaching was Excellent, and everyone learned a lot, and we also want to thank Robin Miller (aka Mrs. Scott Miller) for providing Video for us. With the perfect weather, we did 94 jumps on saturday (the Deland krew) one jumper earned a new name "SPLASH GORDON" (self explanatory). We all enjoyed meeting everyone from Zhills, and a second swoop camp is in the works. The Jumpers from the Hills that attended the seconed day that I talked to said they had a lot of fun and learned a lot, so I think it was a great success. Sunday Jari finally woke from his Coma (health condition, definitely sick, not self induced) and bird man was in action, there was a few big way Bird man dives, and a few first time Bird man jumps, I even did one Bird-Man instruction. There was a lot of input and desire for further first time Bird-Man jumps but unfortunately there was plane trouble around 5:00, so we opted for the second alternative, Drinking BEER! I ended up at home Midnight slightly buzzed, and fully entertained. I had a great weekend swooping the Pond, flying bird man and just all in all enjoying myself, Im sure I wasnt the only one, I have heard from everyone they cant wait until I organise another swoop weekend. And if it is always this much fun, I cant wait myself. Ray Small and fast what every girl dreams of!
  5. You heard right and you might want to keep the receipt handy for your current neptune as there is even more cool things in the works Coolest thing is, you dont need your receipt, all updates can be done on the web, (with the soon to be released software) Alti2 seem's to want to keep the customer's happy, and they told me that if I had any idea's they will listen. Most of all if you have any idea's, questions or aything Email them, from what I have seen they want to make you happy. TB99 had something happen today, and he recieved a backup for the little time it took to get his fixed. Ray Small and fast what every girl dreams of!
  6. Not cheap, very durable, and well made. Also the battery is supposed to last a long time, based on what kind of battery you buy. There is 6 difft manufacturers of the battery type, Panasonic being the best and then it goes downhill, there is supposed to be some crappy battery makers. Ray Small and fast what every girl dreams of!
  7. Caanopy modeis when you open it switches to 10 ft increments, and shows your desent rate, when the software comes out it is supposed to log your maximum desent rate just like in freefall, this I plan on using a lot with my swoop training, faster desent=faster forward speed. I think this is a great tool for Swoop training, So far for Bird man and Swooping its thumbs up from me. With the s3 I have a hard time seeing any altimiter, but I heard that Bird man is working on a pocket just for the Neptune. that will be cool. Ray Small and fast what every girl dreams of!
  8. QuoteThanks to everyone (aka Sangiro) for keeping this place cleaned up while I'm out hopping off the rocks in Norway. Quote No site naming remember? Ray Small and fast what every girl dreams of!
  9. Finally more than 119 seconds on a bird-man suit. And I worked so hard. It sucks that my suit wouldnt fly that good with a pro-trac. Now I have a Neptune my suit flys so much better. But so far 2 jumps on it and I love it. The real test comes this weekend when I (Hopefully not) test its waterproofing on Zhills pond. But the canopy mode is my favorite, but for Bird-men this is a great product, time for the Pro-Trac makers to step up or get left behind with the time they log. Oh yeah to add, IM wearing it as an altimiter, not an audible, but I will try that out also soon, it definitely is loud enough. Ray Small and fast what every girl dreams of!
  10. We just had a Packing Seminar by Scott Miller, and he demo'd how to correctly pack a PD sorry (RWS) Tandem canopy. He also explained exactly what not to do, and why. Now when I pack Icarus tandem's (The way I was taught) you clearly pull the brake lines (attatched to the d lines via rubber band) to the side of the canopy. I know with the lines this short that it would be hard to get a lineover, but I still feel like I am doing something wrong. Anyone know how to get enough tail to wrap the canopy without pulling the brake lines to the side of the canopy? Note: I have a ton of pack jobs this way and we havent ever had an Icarus Malfunction yet, also Im not the only one that packs that way. I went to the Icarus web site and they mention psycho packing their tandem mains, and that isnt something I want to do. Anyone know a link or have an idea on how to "CORRECTLY" pack an Icarus Tandem, i.e. Manufacturers recomended way? Ray Small and fast what every girl dreams of!

  12. So what the hell are you going to be doing? I know you don't do fun jumps :) I was hoping Ron would build a team so I could shoot video of it for old time sake's. J/K What are you talking about they are all FUN! And oh yeah im leaving my Camera suit at home. Ray Small and fast what every girl dreams of!
  13. Anyone going to the Hills this weekend? A bunch of us from Deland are going there to Swoop the pond, and fly Wingsuits, oh yeah we also will be freeflying and hope to consume an insane amount of Alcohol. Ray Small and fast what every girl dreams of!

  16. When you have 500 Jumps on your "Whatever" 230 then ask the same question, please take your time to learn to fly what you are flying, then work on the downsizing. Everyone learns at their own pace, but its much better to spend a year learning to fly than spending a year wishing you had. Either way be safe. Ray Small and fast what every girl dreams of!
  17. Be carefull of what you wish for, you just might get it. Devotion and Ambition will get you anywhere you want to be. Good luck. Ray Small and fast what every girl dreams of!
  18. Quote Reason for a better swoop is the fact that this canopy has an awesome bottom end as well (which the Stiletto lacks). Quote You figured this out on your three stilletto jumps? The stilletto is 10 years old, and still flys great, and has awesome bottom end, I have 800 jumps on a stilletto 107 and the (Bottom End) is great. But if you have 3 jumps on a canopy you cant have any idea what it is capable of, in comparason, I have 20 jumps on a Crossfire and I thought it was lacking on the (Bottom end) and I bet that all the Crossfire pilots out there would love to tell me different. It takes a lot of jumps on a canopy to see what it is capable of, I hated my Velocity until I had about 50 jumps under it, and saw what I could do with it, not what it could do. I dont know what this new canopy can do, other than what I have seen, but the stilletto is still a great canopy. Either way, Pd will let everyone know what they have, when they are finally ready to let everyone know what they have. Another great point about the company, they test, and test, and test and then test. Then they release. Ray Small and fast what every girl dreams of!
  19. I dont see what everyone is complaining about, would you rather a company not test a product to its fullest before releasing it, or selling it and changing it as they sell. Remember the Evo2000 fiasco? I give props to ALti-2 and how much testing they have done on their product, not just cheap vacume chamber testing, they are actually jumping them, Freeflying/Bellyflying even Bird-Man just to make sure that everything works fine. They have had the Neptune for a while, but from what I see from them, they just dont want to release it until it is 100%. Its worth my wait, I want one just as bad as the rest of you. 20. Racer container? If you are talking about buying a brand new one, the 2k3 Racer is a very nice container, no velcro, new closing order, and its a very neat clean rig, that is comfortable. As far as a used one, there is so many models out there to even attempt to say if its good or bad. If you want my choice on what I prefer, everyone knows I would pick a Vector3, but there is a lot of good gear manufacturer's out there. Look around, ask a lot of questions and even call some manufacturer's. For new gear most of the top manufacturer's are safe and good, as far as used gear, I would have to see it to reccomend it. Most of all dont ask someone's opinion to buy gear make up your own mind, just educate yourself on the gear before you buy it. Good luck. Ray Small and fast what every girl dreams of!
  21. Deland is open everyday, weather permitting, and even when the weather sux they make us stay there just in case. So come on down lets have some fun. Ray Small and fast what every girl dreams of!
  22. I love www.Bird-Man.com Jumping so much I did one in the Rain today, and another positive thing about bird-Man is it hurts a lot less than regular freefall, but it hurts for a lot more time, either way it was good, and a ride down in the plane sounded a lot more painfull than a jump in the rain, heck if the 4way teams and freeflyers can handle it, so can I. Next time your in Deland bring your suit, we will have to make a jump. Ray Small and fast what every girl dreams of!
  23. Looks like someone made a mold of the Invertigo X and renamed it and is selling it overseas. Ray Small and fast what every girl dreams of!
  24. Sigma 70% of all possible Malfunctions eliminated, need I say more. If you are buying the rig yourself, why wouldn't you buy the safest rig on the market? As for the canopies, we have both the sigma canopies and the Icarus canopies, I still have yet to see an Icarus Tandem Malfunction, but I have heard a lot of complaints from tandem masters about funky openings, but that is to be expected when the brakes are set by rubber bands. Spend the extra money and go with the Vector sigma, Also now the Vector Sigma comes standard with the Skyhook, one more reason to purchase that rig, over the other's. With sport rigs its apples to oranges what's a good rig, but as far as tandem's the Sigma wins hands down. Ray Small and fast what every girl dreams of!
  25. Just wanted to let everyone know my result's. This stuff works!!! And it work's great. There are a few old school nay sayers at my Dz that swear they have tried everything, and they insist on keeping their camera's covered, and warm all the time but still get fog. I haven't had any since I started using this stuff. You do need to reapply it a few times a day on real Humid muggy days, but for what it cost's and how much it takes it really isnt a problem. And especially when your tandem is paying you $50 its well worth it. I even went back to using my old Sony .06 lens that fogged up all the time, keeping my expensive Diamond Lens for competition. Well good luck and have fun. Ray Small and fast what every girl dreams of!
