  1. I back track while the tandem canopy inflates. Consult with your TI and ask what altitude they're in the saddle after a cutaway. You might be surprised. ltdiver ...me too! Gotta watch out for those surprises! http://www.curtisglennphotography.com
  2. Good vibes to you! I CAN relate to your broken ankle. There is a reason you haven't seen me lately...I'm recovering from a broken tib/fib compound fracture. (rod and 3 screws). I miss Perris a lot! We'll hang out together and make fun of the bi-pedal creatures running around! Best wishes, fast recovery! Curt "The camera guy" http://www.curtisglennphotography.com
  3. There are MANY threads regarding this topic. Do a quick search...and read carefully what good things to do when travelling with a rig. (ie. Make sure you have a cypress card with you and be vigilant in watching the search.) http://www.curtisglennphotography.com
  4. Keep it all! You never know.... http://www.curtisglennphotography.com
  5. I personally don't think that tandems and SHutterfly are a good idea. Tandem students should be able to pre purchase photos and video from the "school" and have them delivered to them as soon as possible. Shutterfly is more intended for "other" types of photo sales ventures. http://www.curtisglennphotography.com
  6. Demo at a Middle School today. I love my PRO rating! http://www.curtisglennphotography.com
  7. Funny, I know someone who fits your description to a "T" Bummer for them... http://www.curtisglennphotography.com
  8. Depends on what lens you have for stills. If possible, it's better to match up both cameras, for an even comparison between video and stills. I personally have a 28mm and a .5 WHen I shoot a digi still, I use a 20 mm. http://www.curtisglennphotography.com
  9. Get rid of NERO and install ROXIO. Much better and easier to use, also. Also, when you burn, slow it down as much as you can. http://www.curtisglennphotography.com
  10. Perris Skydive School does on the weekends. http://www.curtisglennphotography.com
  11. Kit lens is a piece of crap! http://www.curtisglennphotography.com
  12. I believe that if you get a deck DVD burner, the +RW is faster. I think you get to skip the finalizing stage with a + version. I know the -RW deck we have can take up to 14 min., with a traditional skydive tandem/AFF video. If speed is what you're looking for, check it out. Best of Luck. http://www.curtisglennphotography.com
  13. I like the episode where Homer says the immortal words "D'oh"! Gotta love that one! http://www.curtisglennphotography.com
  14. my dog. He's 10 1/2 years old, and very sick. Everytime he wakes me up at 3 a.m., I have to smile. I have another day with him. http://www.curtisglennphotography.com
  15. God I wish people would chew their food!!!! GAGGIN' http://www.curtisglennphotography.com
  16. IMHO, most canopy configurations are designed for a certain max weight load. Go for the New Years Resolution and drop 10-15 pounds and have a safer jump excperience. Also, most DZ's will charge a buck or two over about 200-225 . Drop the weight and come up to Jim Wallace at the Perris drop zone and make a safe, fun, unbelievable jump! http://www.curtisglennphotography.com
  17. Have just one word to say to that: "ohmygodibetthatfriginhurtsodamnmuchIseethepainandfeelittooouchouchouchouchewwwwwwwholycrapbetthatleftamark!" Made me wince! http://www.curtisglennphotography.com

  20. Why not come to Jim Wallace Skydiving at the Perris Dropzone, in Perris CA? We're extremely safe and friendly. We will make sure you enjoy your jump! JimWallaceskydiving.com http://www.curtisglennphotography.com
  21. I would say that without a doubt the most pervasive myth in skydiving is that you can't breathe in freefall. Well, while watching an internation program on TV, the "object" of the story was training with a french team, and was told (seemingly in jest, that "skydivers do not need to breathe in freefall as the oxygen is forced through the skin." Well, and the end of the show...... A written factoid was written decribing that very thought! Proves: some people will believe anything. http://www.curtisglennphotography.com

  23. Just keep jumpin' for awhile. If your jump numbers are correct, you should be focusing on survival and building your flying skills. You've made it past 160 jumps hopefully without any mishaps and most likely still learning stable flying. PLEASE work on you skills, muscle memory, and cut-a-way procedures for about 250-300 more jumps before thinking about adding something that is asking for trouble! Enjoy skydiving for the fun it gives you and the friends you have. There is probably a reason you haven't gotten much help from your dz..... they might think you're rushing things a bit. If you were truly ready for video flying, you wouldn't have asked for the type of camcorder or other accessories. If you have been in the sport long enough, you would have had at the very least, an idea of what you want. Don't be in such a hurry, your time will come! Just my 2 cents. http://www.curtisglennphotography.com
  24. We have a great guy that comes out every once in a while to Perris to do skydives. His group seems to do quite well with him and they turn a few points on each dive. BTW, he's blind. He's got a radio that ground can communicate with to let him know how his chute is opening, and where to steer. His landings are usually better than sighted landings. http://www.curtisglennphotography.com
