  1. mine says 10-01 and my rig's DOM is feb 02 so i guess its MM-YY. then again , if its march 01, shouldn't it be "safe" ? O "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."
  2. i don't know how many "bent" pins are there, but i wonder how long it would take to get a new set (if needed) these days.... O "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."
  3. when its bent, does it mean the pin was defected (and weak) , or does it mean the test wasn't done right ? or maybe neither ? O "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."
  4. i was at the DZ when it just came out. thought of testing it then but since there is a chance of bending the pin while testing it, i decided to wait until we know more about the problem, and stayed grounded. i'll get it tested next time i'm there, hopefully i won't have to replace the whole thing... but, better safe than sorry... O "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."
  5. do you know whether wings has a pre-assembled reserve deployment system ? my container's DOM is feb 02. i have 10-01 stamped on the reserve handle, which is prior to the dates specified in the capewell SB. but i dont know if sunrise get the system (RC handle and pin) as a whole or maybe they assemble it themselves. i'm waiting for answers from my rigger. does anybody know? O "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."
  6. yeap , great rig, great service. had a broken stitch on mine when i got it (happens...) they shipped it from israel and back and i got it about a week later fixed forgot to ask them if i could get a Tshirt too O "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."
  7. not many addressed this issue, i'm not sure i can even squeeze mine into a carry on bag O "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."
  8. scary that they would do that. even scarier that they'll do it without letting the owner know... O "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."
  9. damn... if it was $500, i might go and do another course... O "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."
  10. it can happen, and almost happened to me too on one of my first solo jumps the guy who checked me missed it too, and another j/m noticed it. student rigs usually get one check on the ground and one while climbing. luck? reminder? warning sign? all of the above. O "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."
  11. leaving the specs and design differences aside (as mentioned, you can look them up easily) both are good, suitable for beginners and will also give you a good resale value. i started with my sabre2 very carefully, and it gave me easy soft landings. but as mentioned before, you can also have more fun with it, when you know what you're doing... i was considering both, went with the sabre 2, and i dont regret it O "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."
  12. how could it be? i doubt it would happen if it was routed right (unless i'm missing one hell of a design flaw) yeap, scary shit O "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."
  13. with $500 i could barely get drunk enough to think i'm flying... O "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."
  14. you can do it with every sony cam with the right filter. the original models simply didnt need an external filter. but hey, we're supposed to keep these things a secret O "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."
  15. took me about 3-4 months, lack of time, lack of money and so on... didnt need to do any level again (yay me) , but took it (too) slow anyway... O "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."
  16. just to be sure. do you want to remove msn messenger? block web popups? scan your system for adware that was installed without you knowing ? actually, all of the answers are already in the previous posts O "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."
  17. why not just "start"->"run" type "msconfig" go to startup tab , and uncheck msmsgs. i'm sure you'll find other stuff there that you dont REALLY need to load on startup. O "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."
  18. errr, because at the moment its the only DZ in israel, not sure syria will let me jump there, and can't afford a trip to europe every 2 weeks and its a cool DZ, so i'm ok. O "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."
  19. he he , i wonder how many got that one O "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."

    sad day

the need to be there in the final moments really depends on the person. for me, it was important as a part of closure. i was with him almost all the time in the vet hospital, most of it sitting in the cage with him... i was there when the CPR was going on, and when it all ended. not many things can make me cry, this memory brings tears to my eyes almost every day... http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=414304;search_string=charley;#414304 O "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."
  22. you can stop the copy&paste of text books now so , a if a open circuit is like a blocked pipe , a short circuit is like a pipe with a leak ? oh wait, thats the other 25% O "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."
  23. what kind of a flight is it if you can't simply open the door and jump ? on a serious note, ofcourse its two completely different kinds of plane rides so i guess being afraid of flights and being a skydiver can go together. just remember that if you are traveling with your gear, NEVER tell them you are taking it so you could jump if things go wrong. you and your rig will stay on the ground (not to mention that you cant really do it anyway) O "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."
  24. hmm are you sure you are dating the right kind of girls?? O "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."
  25. hmm , the price i pay for having exams and not having time to read EVERY post here O "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."
