Hi i meant safer as in less likely to get pulled by mistake in the plane or while falling. metal is safer if you look at it from the "easy to locate/pull" point of view. i have a metal one and i prefer it like that due to all of the reasons specified in the previous posts. well i saw them shouting it on TV and even with my poor arabic, understood what they were shouting and saying. if one network doesnt show it, it doesnt mean it didnt happen. not saying that FOX is not a bit over militaristic sometimes but, if you REALLY want to hear what they are saying without the usual act for the world media, check their local networks... the things you hear there are anything but peaceful... i really dont agree with the original thread ideas of blaming all muslims. i think its stupid, and harmful to the important task of fighting those who are guilty of terror. this is the way to show you disagree without getting into a debate. just my thoughts on the culture of debating, even if the views presented are not so cultured... the difference is the handle. metal - easy to pull in an emergency , but could get snagged and be pulled by accident causing an unwanted reserve deployment. soft pillow - safer in general, but could be harder to pull when really needed (need to grab and hold instead of being able to pull with one or two fingers.) hypothetically speaking, no. i got a used item (didnt buy it directly from the dealer) and it was brought to me as a present. actually, from what i know there is a way to import it directly without any tax by classifing it as something else than sporting goods. not sure what else it could be classified as, but customs regulations have many loop holes... i've bought my container online, sent it to my uncle in boston, and then asked my cousin to take it with him from boston, here to israel, avoiding tax and customs. (told him it was nothing more than a small backpack...) bought the canopies from my local dealer and put it all together here. a complete rig might be a bit more complicated to send with a friend. but that depends on the friends you have going to the US and back... good luck O "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."
