i was asked by my boss to give a short presentation on skydiving... like most of us, there arent many things i like talking about more than this anyway, i need to put together a powerpoint presentation and i dont have a lot of time. anybidy knows of a pre-made presentation i could borrow? (just doing my share promoting the sport...) O "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."

yeap, use the winter to read, and not only to save money. remember that while talking and asking people, there are some who always have a hidden agenda and will try to sell you what they want to sell you and not what is good for you. but most will agree what is a suitable rig for a beginner and after reading a few posts here, you'll know more too and if you don't, ask. we'll answer O "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."

well , u can add me , i'm on the other side of the planet, so usually i'm active when your buddies are asleep (like you should be ) O "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."

i doubt there is a real difference, once you get used to it. i like the loop on the bottom flap, it also seem safer to me. but what do i know, i only pack my own wings O "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."

Quoteif you pass by paris, they will never let you take your rig in cabinQuote now you tell me ... i'm yet to post my experiences there (CDG airport), but its not the "we wont allow it" part that made me mad, its the stupid police woman who replied with "its my airport and my rules!" when i asked her to check the rulebook... and as for the alti, don't know why, i wasnt sure the cargo area is pressurized too... thanks O "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."

following an incident where i had to check in my rig for a flight (damn french police woman, story will follow)... if my alti spends the flight in an unpressurized cabin, can it break ? i mean, if it will go all the way up to 50,000 ft and back, will it stay accurate? i dont know what its allowed operational height interval.. thanks O "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."

if the US catch those who did it and put them on trial, do you think you'll also release them a few months later "in the name of peace" like Israel is asked to do with convicted terrorists held in its jails ? O "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."

talk about differences... in paris its 70 euros for a 2.5 minute block sadly, i'll be in paris (and not in malaysia) we'll go for 2-3 blocks each, just to get the feel of things. for more than that , i'll have to sell a kidney or something O "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."

do you have a pic or a link of that? i also have a LS hawkeye which i love, although i dont jump with a camera yet. i dont like the fact that its a mess to take off but i didnt know you can install a "cutaway" system on your helmet... O "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."

yeap, sad isn't it? there was even a movie describing the rest of the story (none of the original cast was there beside ALF) according to the movie, he was electrecuted, probed, used as a crash test dummy etc. then the army decided to kill him, but he's escaped. shocking... O "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."
-
do you remember the TV show "ALF"? i didnt remember this from watching it as a kid but after watching a few reruns, i've found out that at the end, the F.B.I actually caught him and he was subjected to cruel torture and medical experiments... some 80's children show... poor poor creature... i'll go back to my beer now O "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."

pretty good. got tons of work, but going on my very first skydiving trip in france next week O "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."

they dig it, because its interesting. but in the long run, they'd rather you spend the money on gifts and flowers than jumps and gear... my g/f (who doesn't jump) likes it because it makes me come home with a big smile... O "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."

In this new year... May you have good luck on your side, And in your dreams, what you see, will be... and to all, a HAPPY NEW YEAR or as we say it "shana tova" and no, i'm not drunk, i'm jewish well, i'm also a bit drunk... O "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."

ok, update... we emailed them asking to book 3 sessions for 3 people as a group. they replied with "sure, you are booked for 3 hours" as soon as we stopped laughing (or crying ) we asked again... bottom line: you first have to go on a session alone with a coach, to see that you are able to fly. they wont allow us to go up for a 3-way (not experienced enough) we might go and just do 1-2 sessions to check it out but i don't see myself spending 600 euros for 30 minutes of wind tunnel ... are all wind tunnels that expensive? O "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."
-
yeah well , they're french... wine is their beer O "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."
-
yeap, its also on our "options" list. i just hope the whole region wont be stormy when i get there... thanks for the input O "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."

found another thread about it : http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=515150#515150 its 65 euro for 2.5 minutes (for the group). and Ivan, i think you can go alone too (as long as you're paying...) expensive O "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."
-
how long is each session ? if i remember right, its 65 euro+6 for a coach , for 2.5 minutes. don't know for what, but since i'll be in Paris for only one day, i'll see what they have O "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."
