I agree, education is the key. Unfortunately, people will do what they want to do. I also think it's good when those that have been injured show up to the dz to say hello and thank those who helped them. It also serves to have others see what could happen to them should they themselves get injured. As far as inexperienced jumpers flying small parachutes, well, let's just say that I haven't seen too many get hurt under larger ones...

Craig, Congrats on your 4 Stack! Shark CCR-2113

The last 2 warnings are at 3 and 1.6. The first is set depending on if it's a big way, 5 or 4 way or less, 4-3.5. I've only heard the flatline once in which I sniveled into it. And yes, it was a low pull in order to clear airspace on a bigway. I'm usually in the saddle by 2.

because it lands better downwind.... and chicks love it when you 270 it over the packing area.
-
sounds like you may need some creeper work to find your center point. another drill is to get a partner and do some 2 way stuff. if you are familiar with the side-buddy block you can do this as a 2 way instead of a 4.
-
bummer. sounds like the crew is okay, but the climbers they were to rescue didn't fare as well.

He frequents Elsinore at times. In fact, this weekend he filmed our big ways. I should get some stills from the formation that actually completed; a 24 way I think. Pretty cool for a formation load.
-
Stuff always happens on "big" weekends. I think it may be low jump prices and everyone wants to get in as many as they can, and perhaps getting complacent.

30k is a whole new ballgame than 20k........

ya know, the last mal i had i "intentionally" cutaway........

I'm not certain of the packing volume of either Spectre or Sabre2. Just from packing each, the Sabre2 is much easier to S-fold and place in the d-bag. Again, Aspect ratio.
-
Don't forget to figure in the Aspect Ratio.... Then pack a Spectre and Sabre2 of the same size. You'll notice the difference.

Hi Wendy, Not going to terminal. Will use the bag. So just leave the nose hanging? And PRO pack, right? Mark

ya know, i think there are a lot who aren't talking. the poll probably reflects differently, or maybe it is accurate?! no kissing and telling; at least not over the net!

Those of you who have Lightnings, what is the recommended packing method? Mine will be all ZP. Roll the nose on each end and stuff into the center cell?? Thanks

JP, Just like Chuck sez... 'Cept I'm the non-commital one. But I love doing hot 4 ways and like being an alternate or put together a pick up team for the meets. Other than that I like all the aspects of the dz life: 4 way, 2 way, instructing, crew, LOs, big ways, partying, etc... You get the message. I have, however, committed to a 10 way team and some 30-40 way big ways. Half of my 10 way team compete in 4 way regularly. So I got big way practice on Friday afternoon, 5 jumps with the 40 ways on Saturday, "school" skydives on Sunday, and 10 way practice on Monday, 6 jumps. Yeah, and lots of creeper work. -
which would be at Perris or Elsinore???
-
...and pretty soon you'll be moving into the crack house...
-
SSD is pretty cool. Not sure what they got during the week since it has been a year since I was out there last on a school night. I'm sure some of the other gang will resopond, but you should try to make the 1 hour drive north to Elsinore and Perris. Do the SoCal Triad, etc.

Consult your local instructor and get some recommendations on which canopies do DEMO. Don't get caught up in that "lightly" loaded Stilleto debate....
