are you from florida?

I figured it's okay on the wrist since one of the guys, a National Teammember, wore his there. If he does it, it must be cool/safe/convenient.
-
Thanks, but Jack the Ripper was also on the chest strap and it wasn't my rig. No probs when I wore my own stuff. I like it better on the wrist/hand anyway.

Whatdya get? whatdya get??? BTW, this post was supposed to be about feeling sorry for Quade.

Thought I'd post this here because nobody checks the CReW stuff. So this weekend was the CRazy CReW weekend in Perris. I jump a Spectre 170 and was going to use a Lightning 160. Well, they looked at the wing loading and switched me to a 143 lawndart in somebody else's container. I decided to wrap my altimeter to my chest strap. So, I exited and pulled, then WHACK! The canopy snapped open and the altimeter nails me on the lips and teeth. (Lesson: move altimeter back to wrist.) Jump #2, non-event. Jump #3, 3rd out and 2 second delay. Nice opening, only 180 and I'm staring at Jason closing fast! I grab the left rear riser and lift my legs and woosh! Passed each other without incident. Jump #4, switched canopies and put a 143 in the Frankenrig. Took the Lightning out of the storage bag, hooked it up and jumped. Okay, now I've done this before, but I'm the one who put it in the storage bag when it worked in the past. I exit 4th with a nice opening and it felt funny. I looked at the risers which were all twisted. On the proper side, but twisted. I briefly thought about chopping, but the canopy was flying well. I released the brakes and did a control check. It flew great. I looked at the wedge and it was almost built. I sashayed over and closed up the diamond, we broke down and re-built another diamond, broke and did a 4 stack. Then we got low and I started to concentrate on the landing. A little front riser dive, flared and did the butt slide. Jump #1 today, front riser kept slipping out of my hands. Need dive blocks. Jump #2, docked 8th on the stack and got CCS. Landed on butt again. Jump #3, first out and pin for another 8 stack. Cliff docks on me, then Doug comes in pretty hot and WRAPS Cliff. Canopy is gone and Doug is hanging backwards looking up. I can barely see Cliff as he is completely covered like a burrito. Doug doesn't chop and I see movement from Cliff as he is able to breath. I look down again and I see Doug's canopy flying and docked 4th. Fuckin' A. Pretty wild. Then the other guys docked and we waited for Dean to get his CCS/CCR. Too much swinging and he got an air bath. But I stood this one up on landing! The last jump wasn't too exciting. Just attempted some off-sets. But slid again. Later, Shark BTW, nice to see the gang at Perris! See y'all in Elsinore for the SSL!

Docked 8th on the stack today during my second jump! I was actually supposed to dock 9th, but #8 made 3 attempts, then I went in. Those of you who have seen large stacks "know" how much they can "swing like and elephant's trunk." I got my sight and make my way up. Slam, grab, and I back off again and set up. As much of this "thing" was "alive" it was also sinking fast! It was really weird climbing up to the formation using front risers. Anyway, I timed the undulating elephant's trunk and Kevin made a great catch on me. I got "heavy" real quick and waited for the next dude to dock. After sometime, we broke it down in to a few stacks, jungle rules. It was really cool and I have the rest of the jumpers to thank for their instruction and encouragement. Yeah!

W- Okay, out of the 8 jumps this weekend, only one stand-up... And I was "forced" to downsize. Jumped the 143 so I had the same wing loading as the others. So, other than bruised knees and and a sore butt..... M
-
Dude, You didn't miss much... Just a bunch of CReW Dogz pissing in the tall weeds and screwing up the jump run for the freefall types. Not to mention flying diamonds in the freefall area above 2 grand.

Dude, That's nothing. Glad you survived. Learn from it. I have one from today's crew jumps, but I'm too tired to fucking write. Heck, I'm not even sure why I'm on the web! Let's just say my Lightning 143 wasn't quite hooked up right.... -
Mandy, I love it! But, can we have an "alternative" one with a brunette?? Same boobs, though. BTW, sorry I missed ya today. Wuz at Perris for the Crazy CReW jumps. Awesome jumps, too! The rotations were a blast! See ya next weekend?! Mark PS> Can you guys post that 22 Way formation on the website?
-
T-shirts, too??? BTW, name your new puppy "RUFF."
-
Safe Skydives... I won't get much freefall this weekend as it is the annual CReW thing at Perris. So it'll be a lot different, but not that much different. Dude, sorry 'bout your bud.
-
You know I'll be there!
-
"Airweenie" Hmmm.... Has a good ring to it.
-
1.1 Love it. Will never leave it. Okay, I'll never get rid of it. I'll just add another to the quiver... Great openings.
-
Mandy, Great site, and you know it! Our students will also love the flash movies of Levels 1-9. Need more random pics and some "spy" cams! Me
-
Hi Mandy, But what would "Leila" say about a new puppy?? M
-
Michele, You'll do great! Shark

Well, I spoke with THE MAN at PD and he sez that they made some significant mods that weren't ready for public use. That was a month ago. So hopefully yours has the latest design improvements. I also agree that the curious should jump it. Overall I liked the canopy, but decided to go with a Spectre. I'm a 7Cell guy. I'll probably get a Sabre2 in the future.
-
I started (on my 10 declared) last month. Actually, I'm starting again. It's that 3rd one that seems to get me. I'm using a Spectre 170, but a couple of the ol' PRO's suggested I use one of the bigger (PD 253) Demo canopies. I've tried my Lightning 193 but it is pretty challenging in higher winds. Got 2 on that, though. Did you do 3 on the 135?
-
How many of you have or are pursuing a PRO rating? And what type and size of canopy did you use or are using?
