You pay your money and you take your chances...
darnknit replied to AggieDave's topic in The Bonfire
i'll second jumper03 on this one. even a rookie packer should be able to tell something is amiss. i don't see it being any different than a TI forgetting to hook up the uppers. it has happened, but it is easily preventable. pulling is cool. keep it in the skin -
Riggers - how many reserve REPACKS and SAVES do you have?
darnknit replied to skydiverek's topic in Gear and Rigging
when it's a work jump the ground becomes much softer, thus making a reserve "superfluous". the TI prolly just wanted to prove he knew what those handles do. blue stuff, p.j. pulling is cool. keep it in the skin -

darnknit replied to skydiverek's topic in Gear and Rigging
297 repacks they are all saves, but, so far, only nine of them have been used. pulling is cool. keep it in the skin -
the elastic in the bungee is coated with a different textile so that the rubber does not come in contact with the oxydizing metal. i am not sure if you are saying that rubber bands(even Mil Spec) will break upon inspection instead of use, whereas a safety stow will pass inspection, yet still break during use, but if that is your opinion i would have to disagree. even if you remove the brass grommets, i see no design advantages and only maintenance disadvantages when it comes to the speedbag. blue stuff, p.j. pulling is cool. keep it in the skin

Mil Spec elf snot actually. i've never known a rigger who didn't inspect a safety stow, and replace it when needed. rubber bands that are not Mil Spec chemically react with brass, causing them to break down. how is any given rigger to be sure that the rubber bands are Mil Spec on any given rig? i will not say racers suck, but i will say the speedbag does not have a design advantage. it does however, have a maintenance disadvantage. blue stuff, p.j. pulling is cool. keep it in the skin

after reading all you have to say on the subject, i would agree. pulling is cool. keep it in the skin -
dude, i sincerely apologize for the personal attack(which is why i deleted it). i didn't realize you were merely trying to educate jumpers, i thought you were using inuendo to cast dispersions on a situation you hadn't looked into. my mistake. i never would have written those things if you had posted, " i had some questions, so i made a phone call and here are the answers i got...". in any case the fault is mine for not realizing your true motives(getting jumpers to educate themselves). i too, support the idea that people should educate themselves and make their own decisions. again, i apologize for the personal attack. blue stuff, p.j. pulling is cool. keep it in the skin

dude, i'm in total agreement with you. i don't get where you think i was attacking you by throwing up a "me too" post. pulling is cool. keep it in the skin -
i had merely said that i didn't have any harsh words toward anyone, please stop trying to make this about you. i actually neither like nor dislike you, i am just posting in a public forum just like you are. i may not agree with everything that everyone has to say, but i am certainly not going to take it personally. pulling is cool. keep it in the skin

i was just thinking that as i read all you had to say on this subject. pulling is cool. keep it in the skin -
because i am feeling the love. you've got to understand, i wasn't telling you to go away, i was just trying to help you out. i was just trying to help you "feel the love". i've never called anyone on this website a name(like "jackass") either publicly or privately. that is because i truly care, and i accept you for who you are, even if you do fantasize about drinking human blood, and condemming the souls of your victims to eternally walk the earth in a purgatory haze that would even make hell look appealling. i can't help it, it's who i am. i'm a giver. pulling is cool. keep it in the skin

try alt.cuddle pulling is cool. keep it in the skin

i've been told you are not allowed to talk about that in here. there are other forums for that thing that some of the miscreants on this website do. pulling is cool. keep it in the skin

are you kiddin'? I LOVE THIS STUFF!! i mean, i'm not as popular as i am in alt.cuddle, but deep down were all electronic soulmates aren't we? pulling is cool. keep it in the skin

let me know when that happens, i'll jump on your bandwagon. pulling is cool. keep it in the skin

i was just thinking the same thing after reading all you had to say on this subject. pulling is cool. keep it in the skin -
you say that like it's a bad thing, like it's something that really sucks. pulling is cool. keep it in the skin
-
so, you were trying to be amusing by giving your thread the title "you know what really sucks"? oh wait, I GET IT!! IT'S IRONY!! let me know when my original punchline has orbited the earth and caught you on the second try(hint: stand on a ladder). pulling is cool. keep it in the skin
-
i'm not pissed off, i was just freely expressing my opinion that your interpretation of what really sucks is a bit off the mark, as i see it. pulling is cool. keep it in the skin
-
so, although you are dissapointed in not being able to feast on human blood and condemn countless souls to the unending torment of being the undead you still want to be kind? i don't think you are capable of recognizing what truly sucks, but that's just the way i run. pulling is cool. keep it in the skin

yeah, that really sucks, it's way worse than having to extinguish the flames that are covering your two-year old son from head to toe. pulling is cool. keep it in the skin

that's brilliant! i will now change my FJC to cover only those three topics! after all, there are only those three things on every jump(which i could only have divined from your commentary). it should help decrease student overload. using this method they won't have too much information to process. they will become experienced faster, and all thanks to you! GOD BLESS YOU FOR YOUR INSIGHT pulling is cool. keep it in the skin -

i was just pointing out that one action could be percieved two different ways and both could be simultaneously true. it's just something i've noticed in my "experience". pulling is cool. keep it in the skin -
it hadn't occurred to me that some people were careless when giving a pin check, but i guess i can see your point. blue stuff, p.j. pulling is cool. keep it in the skin
