  1. What always seems very strange is when somebody trys to tip me for doing some work on their airplane. Doesn't happen very often, so it always catches me by surprise. I usually suggest he give the tip to the line service guys as their job is actually more physically difficult and they aren't paid as well.
  2. Yes, it's all opposites. Glad I could clear that up for you. Have a nice day.
  3. That is one seriously funny website.
  4. On that one, the canopy isn't too clear, but in the shadow you can see not only the canopy, but the jumper too. Matt
  5. Really? In Oklahoma? I lived in OK for 17 years, but never heard that was possible. Must have been very surprising when you saw it, I imagine!
  6. In my mind the tip is related to how much time the server/driver/porter/employee/etc. has to put up with me. Somebody behind the fast food counter takes my order, slaps it together, and takes my money as quickly and efficiently as possible, and I don't have any need to speak with them again. A server in a nice restaurant actually spends a little time with me, forms a brief working relationship in order to get the meal and complete the transaction. Much more tip-worthy. Edited for spelling. Matt
  7. One of my aunts gave up on training her cats to scratch only what they're supposed to because cats are too stupid to learn things like that. Her solution was to get a dog and train him to attack the cats anytime they scratched the furniture. Worked great.
  8. Ok. Imagination being deployed as we speak.
  9. So where's the picture of you wagging your tail? Matt
  10. Yeah, I suppose I could go to an indoor pool, but it wouldn't be quite so convenient or picturesque as what amounts to my own private beach, since none of the other tenants in this building ever use it. I'm confident the water quality here is safe enough. There's people water skiing and tubing out there everyday and I'm certain the local news/gossip chain would be crying bloody murder if people were getting sick. Besides, gotta give the immune system a workout. Matt
  11. You're right, definitely too much work involved. Everybody knows fishing is just an excuse to take a four hour nap in a boat, right? Matt
  12. The whole stubble issue is why I've resisted shaving the mane that keeps spreading down my back. That, and I'm not sure how to go about shaving the back without being a circus contortionist. Matt
  13. From the thread title I thought this would be noodling or dynamite, but I've never seen anything like that! That was incredible. Anybody else remember the Bert and Ernie skit on Sesame Street, Ernie would call, "Heeerreeee fishy fishy FISHY FISHY!" and the fish would jump into the boat? Reminded me of that.
  14. Nope, tried it, didn't work. Matt
  15. So I went to see the doctor, and he told me my back is healing well.
  16. When I saw it what struck me as incredible was how tall the lights are. They had never been described to me that way, and I had always envisioned a colorful, wiggling, wispy little cloud. But the real thing looks like a curtain that's a hundred miles wide and even taller than it is wide, so that the top just vanishes away into infinity. Ok, so I know that it's not actually infinitely tall, but it sure looks like it. Matt
  17. I just can't envision myself calling up and saying, "Yes, hello. I'd like to make an appointment to get my nutsack waxed tomorrow." Matt
  18. From me to girlfriend several years ago, after an argument: "Don't worry about it. I will be terribly disappointed if the day ever arrives that you can't puzzle me anymore." Maybe sounds kinda corny now, but she appreciated it at the time. Matt
  19. And here I was starting to feel a little bad for being the only one to publicly admit in the weekend poll thread that my desktop picture is a sexy female.
  20. Cool looking suit! Like the colors.
  21. Don't know about the kitchen, but I've seen the Aurora Borealis twice since moving to the IL/WI area four years ago! I didn't know it was possible to see it this far south.
  22. Aloof. Or just stupid. Sometimes both. (Disclaimer: I'm certain each and every cat owner who reads this post has a loveable, personable, feline Einstein. Obviously, through some freak of probability, my experience with cats has been limited to the less advantaged representatives of the species, and thus my opinion is flawed. Plus, I am excused from appreciating the little terrors as I am violently allergic to them.) Matt
  23. See, what I'm thinking is that women have set up many thousands of years of tradition and culture that teach them to injure themselves in the pursuit of beauty. Occasionally a fashion will come along that persuades men to injure themselves too, but really not with the frequency or severity to compare with what women voluntarily subject themselves to. Lets not start hurting ourselves now. Too much progress would just go right out the window if we allow our ball hair to be ripped out. Really. Matt
  24. Yes you did, and frankly it was kind of strange that you're being one of the teases and you're not even female. Matt
