So Se7en is one of my favorite movies. It's so atypical in so many ways. For example, no real chase scenes, no big shoot'em outs, you never even see the killer until he turns himself in (turns himself IN! except for when they find his apartment, and even then you don't "see" him), has a very unexpected ending, and is just chalk full of psychological thrill and trauma. You don't see the real "violence" of the murders, only the aftermath. It's all pretty much implied. IMO, that makes it that much more compelling as a movie. My question is this: What other movies fit this sort of pattern? They don't have to be thrillers or gorey. The Usual Suspects comes to mind somewhat, as does The Life of David Gale. Any coincidence that Kevin Spacy is in them all? So, give me a list... what are your flicks that were SO compelling, SO fascinating, SO unexpected that you left the theatre and just sat in your car and went... "WHOA." That's what my wife and I did after we saw Se7en when it came out. We felt like we had been mentally raped. And there is something about that kind of movie that just fascinates me. I miss Lee.
