    The only evidence you're shown that NOAA has changed it's data is from a guy who lies about other things. The side story about Hansen is important because it shows Goddard will lie to make his point. How do you know he isn't lying (or at least being misleading) about his claims of NOAA changing their data? - Dan G

    Maybe he is. That's got nothing to do with Goddard's dishonesty. From a cursory review of Goddard's blog, I conclude he is just as much a denier dork as Hansen is an alarmist dork. Care to respond to my earlier request about reading the whole 1989 Hansen report and seeing if you still think he's changed his story? - Dan G

    So did Goddard. Apparently both of you stopped reading when you saw a sentence that looked like it supported your position. Go back and read the whole report and let me know if you still feel the same way about Hansen changing his story from 1989. Maybe he did, and maybe he didn't. He doesn't explain what he did, how he did it, or give any details of the results. It can't be reviewed for errors or caveats. I thought that's the sort of thing that he was against. - Dan G

    I wonder why Goddard only quotes a sentence about temperatures in the US. Does Hansen say the same thing about world temperatures in that 1989 report? No, he doesn't. In fact, he says: Goddard just lost all credibility with me. Cherry picking sentences to make a point while leaving out the gist of a paragraph is intellectual dishonestly at its height.     For someone who criticizes the government for obfuscating data, Steven Goddard really needs to clean up his own house. I'm genuinely interested in his work, but it's all just presented with little animated graphs, with no explanation about his methods or sources. It's very hard to determine what he's actually doing. - Dan G

    Sure I have. I just didn't find anything. In fact, the more I thought about it, the more absurd the idea seemed. I don't feel any pressure from the scientific community to be an atheist. If I feel any pressure, it's from the conservative right to believe. I work in the defense industry. It is pretty much assumed everyone is a Christian Republican. I can't talk politics or religion with my work friends, not that that's a bad thing. - Dan G

    As I've said before, I have no problem with the KC Chiefs, or the Atlanta Braves, or any name that actually refers to the great, warriorlike qualities of Native Americans. Redskins refers only to the color of their skin. It's not the same. There's a difference between a team called the Samurais, and a team called the Slopes. - Dan G
