  1. Only Democrats do that, silly. - Dan G
  2. If you think every dollar spent by the Global Climate Change Research Program should be categorized as "climate alarmism" you're a lot more extreme than I thought. - Dan G
  3. Why bother? You've already made up your mind that the cops can do no wrong. Try a Google search for "police racism" or "driving while black". - Dan G
  4. Since the preliminary investigation indicated that the engine had nothing to do with the crash, I don't see why they wouldn't use it. You don't spend millions designing a component, then throw it out because another component failed. - Dan G
  5. In all the times I've been to the AT&T or Verizon store to adjust cell or data plans, I've never been asked for ID. You must look shifty. - Dan G
  6. That's weird. I had to provide ID this morning. BTW, it was the first time I've had to provide ID since I started keeping track a few weeks ago when the whole, "you can't live in America without ID," debate started. Full disclosure: I did have to show my military ID to get a discount on a new microwave at Lowes. I haven't otherwise needed ID in at least three weeks, when I last flew on a commercial plane. - Dan G
  7. And since the answer is, "No," then vote for the individual candidates on your ballot that you think will do the best job. - Dan G
  8. Do you know that the new engine had a different mass and cg? Was the thrust vector different? Do you know if they adjusted ballast elsewhere in the vehicle to account for changes to the engine? Where are you getting your information? - Dan G
  9. Do you honestly believe Scaled Composites didn't account for a W&B change with a new propulsion system? These guys aren't amateurs. - Dan G
  10. I agree that there is abuse and unintended consequences. I do not agree that the vast majority of people receiving government aid are rim buying welfare queens with big screen TVs and iPhone 6's. - Dan G
  11. And the second paragraph of the story: It is possible that a citizen's desire to avoid jury duty is stronger than an alien's desire to vote? - Dan G
  12. If you've been told your whole life that you should be ashamed of being gay, it's more of a statement of defiance and perserverence than anything else. I think the word "proud" can have more than one connotation. - Dan G
  13. Many programs, like food stamps, already require that. Can you be more specific? Okay, I'm all for reduction in overhead and complexity. Increased cost. You need to make sure the increased cost is worth the money. Is this the imaginary Democrat in your head, or the idealized liberal they're always talking about on Fox? Sure, there are some people who live off welfare. I'm not sure it's as large a percentage as you think. As for who they vote for, most of the urban welfare recipients vote Democratic. I bet most of the rural welfare recipients vote Republican. Not sure how the numbers play out overall. - Dan G
  14. I found the falling sensation is more severe with slower jumpships. Out of a King Air, you don't really feel it at all. Out of a helicopter, you feel it a ton. If you've been jumping out of a 182, the sensation miht be worse than if you are at a turbine DZ. Practice does make perfect. I still remember that falling feling from my first jump. In my later years, I didn't get that falling feeling at all. I think it alo helps if you are focused on something else right at exit. As a student, all you're thinking about is getting a good arch, and your mind has plenty of room to worry about the impending falling sensation. Later on, you'll be busy trying to nail a four-way exit, or get the great exit photograph, or whatever. I hope you can get over it. It seems like you really love flying. Try to remember that it's all in your head. - Dan G
  15. Gee thanks. And you (completely) ignored what I wrote and chose not to respond in a substantive way. - Dan G
  16. What do you think that shows? People in the highest tax bracket pay an unreasonable amount of their income in taxes (according to you and your tribe) but still give a lot to charity. Why do you think that means lowering their tax rates will cause them to give more? - Dan G
  17. Your first paragraph indicates your lack of reading comprehension. I said there is a risk of faith tests. If the government policy becomes welfare is only provided through faith based ministries, that will give them unprecedented power over the lives of the needy. I have no doubt that some would abuse that power. Your second paragraph indicates a general lack of realism. If people will give more money when taxes are lower, it should be easy for you to show that statistically. Good luck. Your third paragraph is just regurgitation of a right wing bullshit catch phrase. - Dan G
  18. As opposed to the stereotypical bullshit you believe, like Democrats support welfare only as a vote buyung program, are environmentalists only because they want control over your life, want illegal aliens to vote, and hate the military. - Dan G
  19. Sure they do. But they can do a good job since the government is pulling most of the weight. There aren't enough faith based mnistries to help everyone. And, there is always the risk that people will be turned away if they don't share the same faith. Reasonable people don't want religion to be a prerequisite for getting enough food to eat. How to you know that? Why wouldn't people just keep more money for themselves? No, I can't. Enlighten me. - Dan G
  20. Good, you're not an extremist. Well, thhe social safety net that you agree with, for one thing. I didn't say anthing about Republicans being racist or wanting people to die. I think their policies are short sighted and won't really help the poor like they claim. I also think they are more concerned with helping the rich than the poor. "Policaly" has got to be one of the best rushmc words yet. - Dan G
  21. What's to report? Anyone who works in a job where compromise is a potential shouldn't brag about themselves to the public. - Dan G
