If you are merely proud of the history of your forefathers and use it as motivation to continue a proud tradition, then that is fine. I do find it irritationg when I hear people who were not alive during the second world war saying "we saved your asses" or "we won the war". Agreed. My wife is terrified with the idea of me jumping. Since we married I have taken some time away from the sport due to the stress it causes her when I jump. Don't get me wrong, I am not one who subscribes to the old "You have a better chance of....than dying skydiving" propaganda....I realize that it is a risky sport but I feel that she has an overly inflated perspective on the risk particularly since I am a very safety conscious jumper. I am no expert, but with modern DNA can we not reduce the likelyhood of a false conviction to almost zero? Not sure if I can support the DP in all cases but I do agree that it should apply to those who victimise children.
