Hard for me to have a solid view as I am not a lawyer or a psychiatrist and therefore unqualified to give an informed statement..however this is speakers corner so; She was either capable of recognizing right from wrong or she wasn't. If she was capable then her lawyer has pulled a fast one and she escaped justice which in light of the crime would mean she should have been buried alive. If she was truly incapable of controlling her actions then as angry as her crime makes me I will trust in the judgement of those who are more familiar with the facts than me who decided to put her in an institution. Either way the whole thing was fucking depressing. Richards My biggest handicap is that sometimes the hole in the front of my head operates a tad bit faster than the grey matter contained within.

Gosh thanks. I actually got very lucky and married a woman who accepts all my shortcomings and only asks me to do my best. I will not make the mistake of taking my good fortune for granted. Too many guys have lost great opportunities by making that mistake, and while many of them would do anything for the chance to take care of their marriage properly if given a second chance the reality is that you only get one shot. Cheers, Richards My biggest handicap is that sometimes the hole in the front of my head operates a tad bit faster than the grey matter contained within.

I don't have the purity and moral rightness to be the hero, and I'm not cool enough to be the villain so I guess it's sidekick for me. Richards My biggest handicap is that sometimes the hole in the front of my head operates a tad bit faster than the grey matter contained within.

Agreed. It seems many are sharing that sentiment. http://calsun.canoe.ca/News/National/2006/07/21/1695683-sun.html Richards My biggest handicap is that sometimes the hole in the front of my head operates a tad bit faster than the grey matter contained within.

We simply do not have the capacity to carry out a major evacuation of Canadian citizens from another country. To do that requires a military with reasonable size and equipment. Unfortunately our taxpayers/voters have repeatedly allowed our government to strip our military down to nothing and therefore have only themselves to blame for the fact that our government cannot move as fast on this as countries that have funded a real military. It's funny how many of the people who criticised Stephen Harper for wanting spend money on large transport ships and aircraft for our military (which would have been ideal in this sort of evacuation) are the same ones who are now criticising him for not being able to get our citizens out despite the fact that our military was emmaciated before he even got in. Agreed. Canadians of convenience. Come here long enough to get that magical "citizenship" and then move back home and pay taxes in another country, while dropping into Canada only when they need surgery, and flashing their Canadian passport whenever they wish to travel with ease. Israeli Tanks lined up and ready to roll

Very well said. Regrettably Isreal will always be a whipping boy who is held to an unrealistically high standard of restraint relative to its enemies. Richards My biggest handicap is that sometimes the hole in the front of my head operates a tad bit faster than the grey matter contained within. -
JFC ... don't you people see the irony in what was written by this guy and what I said. If you take me serious that I am adovating bombing the US, then you're just not seeing the big picture. I do not want the USA's economy to be destroyed because I know it will be a negative impact for most of us. But why is destroying Iran a good thing? Do you people really want World War III? Well we know the hard core Christians do because it will bring Armagedon sooner and these nut cases actually view the end of the world as a good thing. But I would hope that most of us view World War III as a bad thing. Relax. Just asking a question. No I do not want to see a war with Iran. Sorry for whatever it was about my post that got you so irate. It's amazing how many people actually do think the government is responsible for taking care of them. That mentality has gotten even more out of hand up here in Canada. When you say "we" who are you refering to? I personally cannot see anyone other than someone wanting to become aquainted with 72 virgins being willing to risk bombing the US. Squares Bill .... going in squares. Richards They did not specify the angles. We could be dealing with rectangles, parallelograms, trapezoids, or my personal favorite - the rhombus. I like it because it sounds a lot like rumba. Maybe that's it, we should teach them all the Latin American dances. Ahhh gosh dang-it! I fucked up and completely overlooked the other shapes. Why I bother evin try'in to git edicated I can't figure. Thats fine if it is done to help develop a sense of right and wrong in a child and to teach the idea that ones actions do have consequenses. That said most people would agree that there has to be consistency and that there should be an observable cause and effect relationship that the kid can figure out. Hurting a kid to take a picture teaches the kid that it is OK to be mean of it serves to amuse......and kids are great immitators. Lemme tell ya, if a kid's -worst- problem is that they've had a lollypop taken away for the purposes of a photograph, that child has perhaps the most blessed childhood I've ever heard of. *** No-one has suggested otherwise. No one has claimed that these children are going to be traumatized for life...they are just saying that this woman is a bitch with a mean streak (or at least heartless streak) who seems perfectly willing to be mean to a child who has done nothing wrong, just for her own gratification. She's cute. That joy she is experiencing is the only emotion an adult should deliberately try to bring about in a child. Only a sick person would deliberately try to interfere with that happiness. No. The idea is repulsive Agreed 100%. Richards My biggest handicap is that sometimes the hole in the front of my head operates a tad bit faster than the grey matter contained within.

Do you have specific newspaper quotes where the term "evil muslims" is used, or where the theme is that muslims are inherently evil? It seems that every article I read seems to go on ad nauseum about how it is a religion of peace and that the terrorists represent a small minority who have perverted islam. I am curious to see these "Evil Muslim" quotes. Actually most of the media reporting I have seen is quite critical about Isreal and seems to do the opposite of what you are saying. Every time Isreal is attacked the media focus is on the proportionality of their response and seems to gloss over the reasons behind the response. Hardly a right vs left issue. I think any person with a sense of decency would be bothered by the idea of an adult tormenting a child who does not understand why he/she is being tormented, just so someone can sell some paintings. Why should someone who has an issue with a child being tormented also be equally bothered by someone inducing joy in a child? Her actions were plain mean and they were inflicted upon someone who was defenseless and could not even comprehend why this was being done.
