I always take the position that since I have never been in a combat situation I try to refrain from jumping to conclusions until there is at least a little more detail. I just find that when street criminals are arrested everyone wants to bend over backwards to make sure that their rights (fair trial, blind justice...etc) are protected yet when a cop or soldier ends up in the hotseat people tend to want to hang them. In fainess the issue may not entirely be one of control. If it was hockey or pool I could see the control argument but if someone who does not jump is married to a jumper then there is more to the debate. Skydiving is one of a few activities where your wife/husband could get a call saying that you will not be coming home at the end of the weekend and all thier future dreams with you are now cancelled because you are dead.
