As I said, "I'm trying to put your great insight about what is fair for TM in perspective." steveOrino

Nice mix of what? Heavies and flat bellies? I NEVER complain. Of course, I'm compensated for taking the heavies when I do.

No I am not. But, I am no stranger to hard work either. My work ethic is to work as hard as I can for the amount of money that I agreed to work for. I don't look for handouts for working harder (not monetary wise anyway). Thanks, I'm trying to put your great insight about what is fair for TM in perspective. steveOrino

No problem with that. As one poster indicated, it is not that unfeasible for a terrorist to wear a uniform. Perhaps one "part" of the solution would be to issue the soldiers a badge that is not easily copied and let him/her scan it and move on. steveOrino

You too, sorry it was the occasion of Chris' funeral. steveOrino

I agree it is dispicable. You can't screen who needs to be screened because it isn't PC. So, we screen grandmas and little babies, while allowing the people who fit the profile that performed the terrorist act walk on by. Political correctness at its worst. Before anyone calls me a fundie, or bigot I'm the first to say SCREEN me! I'm dark skinned, I have an accent (okay, it is Texas accent, but none the less) Let grandman go by. steveOrino

Do you apply these ecological sensitivities to skydiving? Why not? If we all pay for what damage we do, our grandchildren will be better off. On one hand you say you are willing to pay extra taxes to skydive to create a better world for our children/grandchildren, but it appears you are not willing to quit your behavior that is wasting fossil fuel for your enjoyment. steveOrino

I'm not a creationist so I'm not arguing for a literal reading of Genesis, but you are making assumptions. God can create something (man/angels) with a free will. While created ina perfect state they can rebel. Both Satan and man rebelled against God. Omnipotence doesn't negate free will. It implies God knows what we will choose, not that he dictates it. steveOrino

Every critic ... I don't think so. 4 Gospel writers - 4 intended audiences. For example ... Matthew Speaks to Jews, therefore you have a lot of OT references and fulfillment of OT passages. Luke speaks to the Gentiles and speaks little of JC Jewish heritage Had all 4 gospels contained the exact stories and quotes everyone would have complained of collusion. You can't have it both ways. Your understanding in how to study and interpret theology is as lacking as my knowledge of physics. steveOrino

How did fate introduce you to the love of your life ?
steveorino replied to TheBile's topic in The Bonfire
Arco transferred her dad from OK to TX. She came to my church and when I saw her I told my Dad I would marry her. It took me a few years but I did. Over 32 years ago. -
What religion are you? And what does it mean?
steveorino replied to chigbee's topic in Speakers Corner
Similar to you ... God is God and we are not. His ways are not understandable by us. God never did answer Job's question of "why." However I did not gain that life is futile. I gained God's reasonings are often beyond our understanding. Who am I to understand Him? Life hasproven to me the teaching points of Job. God's ways are not always discernable, religous people love to assign blame, God will restore us when we remain faithful. BTW, speaking of free will that you say we don't have. Was Job able to freely curse God or trust God when life didn't make sense? steveOrino -

I think they are either more schizo than dallas or woefully over rated, but either way, I'm glad they beat the Giants. Which team will show up next week? The one that squeaked by the hapless cards and got beat by the Dolphins, or the one that played in the 3th & 4th quarters of the Giants game? steveOrino

Early in skydiving career. (less tha 50 jumps) I made one jump where the wind was from the south. Landing, no problem. Later I jumped again -- downsizing from a 230 to 190. Wind switched 180 degrees, and I was clueless to the fact. I turned to do my final and boy did I speed up! I figured it out too low and prepared to PLF. I did, but I was going so fast I bet I did two points of contact ... feet ... head. I walked away with a slight limp and feeling lucky I didn't die because I was stupid. steveOrino
