  1. Unless it teaches us to not think as empiracally stated by previous poster steveOrino
  2. You avoided my assertion that his overgeneralization of faith (which he empirically states, teaches us not to think) steveOrino
  3. So which is more stupid: his over generalization of faith or what some religions have taught? It seems to me they are on the same level. steveOrino
  4. Your generalization of faith is not all that smart either. I have NEVER been taught that it is unnecessary to think. steveOrino
  5. Change? Why my mother donated that light bulb, how dare you change it! steveOrino
  6. I'm a Christian (non denominational -- or better stated inter-denominational) and what that means to me is I have a relationship with my creator, a hope that encourages me, and a peace that passes all understanding. steveOrino
  7. Great shot of Chris' contagious smile. steveOrino
  8. Yes, he was so proud of his dad (rightfully so!) And Spanky (and all of us) were proud of Chris. More pictures of chris on my Xtreme-Visuals.com index page. See memorial near bottom of the page. steveOrino
  9. Yep, what he said. steveOrino
  10. If you put yourself on a pedestal and then fail to live up to your own hype, you deserve to be criticized as a hypocrite. The GOP has done that, and the Dems have not. The GOP has not shown itself to be any more moral than the Democrats, but it claims that it is. Whenever a GOP moral failure occurs, the defense is "Well, the Dems are just as bad". I'm sure the Dems ARE just as bad, but the Dems have not been puffing out their chests and claiming moral ascendancy like the GOP has. Well, I suppose that some how makes you feel better about yourself or your party (DEMS) but it leaves a bitter taste in my mouth. steveOrino
  11. I'm not sure why you are being so obtuse about my question. Morality, while somewhat internally generated, there are certain moral codes most people have in a certain society. Being honest, faithful to your spouse, etc. are among those that most Americans prescribe to. However, you come across as one who believes it is okay for democrats to be immoral (from what most people believe is moral) as long as they don't say they have morals to begin with. steveOrino
  12. That is how I understood his posts -- thus my initial question that he sidetracked with my mistyping/spelling. steveOrino
  13. So I can't type. I meant MORALITY. Yes, many in the GOP are hypoctites. I'm an independent, so I'm not defending the GOP whatsoever. I just wantto understand your position. Is it if you don't preach morality you (Democrats) can pretty much do as you please? That is the take I get from your posts. steveOrino
  14. His death was totally unrelated to skydiving. As Spanky said, it would have made more sense if he bounced. To die like that at 25 ... Chris was a great young man! A very good skydiver (like his dad, Spanky) The last thing he did skydiving wise was film my tandem and he did an outstanding job! Remember ole Spanky in your prayers, and don't forget the rest of SDA staff as we're pretty numb. steveOrino
  15. I forgot what stevorino posted but i do believe he is eating his words right now man couldnt take another loss by the cowfairies Luck .. pure luck! Too bad you don't have enough confidence to bet on your 3-5 team. steveOrino
  16. How come you forgot to mention Willy's BJ? When you set yourselves up as the party of moral rectitude, saying "the other guys are just as bad" when you're caught doesn't make a good defense. So saying you're the party where mortality doesn't matter gives you a pass? Give me a break! steveOrino
  17. Two degrees in theology/ministry (BA & MA) and I am a pastor. I'm getting another masters in counseling and hope to move to that full time. However, although I did take a lot of courses (over 70 hours worth) from basics to medical stuff when I was young, I did not receive my first degree until I was in my forties.
  18. Because everyone "wants it now" eh Lisa? Soon AFF students will be wearing cameras... _ Sure, why not? As SKYDIVEGLAMIS said, "not that it is that big of a deal" steveOrino
  19. Simple -- no dog! You are the parent of your child. You get to make the decisions concerning her safety. If momma don't like it -- stay at home. If wifey won't back you -- you have bigger issues. steveOrino
  20. Got mine -- it is awesome! I can't wait to wear it this weekend! steveOrino
  21. I once told my late father I was looking to join a perfect church. He told me if I found it, to not join it as it would no longer be perfect. Needless to say he knew me pretty well, and I have long since stopped looking for the perfect church. I figure if the disciples were at times hypocritical, I am as well. Hard to find someone who isn't. Such is the nature of man. steveOrino
  22. A 5k is 3.1 miles. You can run 3.1 miles in 6 minutes, at an average of 2 minutes per mile? That's inhuman. Who are you, the flash? I'm confident they are referring to their pace. steveOrino
  23. Yeah, that about sums it up! steveOrino
  24. In years past ... 5 minute + range. Now? 8 minutes. Lord, I'm not the runner I once was! steveOrino
  25. No doubt he is so ashamed of his beloved Redskins and their losing ways that he has become a hermit until football season is over. Or at least until this weekend when Dallas completes the sweep. Go Cowboys! steveOrino
