$5 says most of the those in present Iragi leadership is glad Sadam is out. $5 more says Bush and military leadership think 3 years is enough time to get their act together. That being said, it took the USA about 12 years to come up with a viable constitution and our division was along state lines, not religous ideals. steveOrino

Thanks! My wife said she'd go on a tandem with me on my 2000th!

Ask the Dr. if there has been studies of long term problems, say 15-20 years after the big V. I had mine in 1985 after 4 kids and I had to go recently for pain in my testicles. The Dr. said there were a lot of problems with it (Sperm granuloma is found in up to 60% of vasectomized men at vasectomy reversal. It is a hard lump formed as a result of sperm leakage from the cut vas deferens. Sperm granuloma is not dangerous but may be painful in 3% of the procedures. Pain caused by granuloma usually responds to conservative treatment but excision of sperm granuloma may be performed occasionally.) Mine turned out okay", but the pain was more than moderate IMHO steveOrino

List your main objections to Hillary Clinton
steveorino replied to SpeedRacer's topic in Speakers Corner
Yep, as I said in my original post. "just like so many politicians on both sides." They come in ALL flavors! Of course I must admit I do like his reply when questioned about that. Something to the effect that as a military brat he lived all over the US, and that the longest he lived in any one place was Hanoi. steveOrino -

Lawyer from Arkansas that rents/buys a house in NY to become their senator ... if that is not a carpet bagger -- then what is? steveOrino -
Still, that is $7575 USD! steveOrino

In my opinion, she is a carpet bagger, just like so many politicians on both sides. steveOrino -

Worse! We blew by his house --- he was too scared to jump -- we were going 60 mph by then. Then we sped across a busy street w/o looking. When we stoped - he jumped off and walked the mile or two home. steveOrino

* BB gun fights without eye protection. Oy yeah, did that! Good thing no one was a good shot! * Firecracker fights. I did get burned a few times, but nothing too serious. * Bottle rocket fights. Chased my brother's car on his wedding night shooting bottle rockets and roman candles underneath his car as we chased him going 80 mph. * Roman candle fights. see above * Eating broken glass. Nope, can't say I've done that. * Various dumb things with gasoline. Burned up a kid's front yard once Got any good ones? Stuck my neighbor's baby rabbits in with the daddy rabbit because I thought he was lonely -- Turned out I guess he was only hungry. Dumbest thing I did was tell a kid who was hitch hiking to jump on the hood, and I'd give him a ride to his house 5 blocks away. I floored it and he held on by the windshield wipers as I went 70 mph on a side street. I'll think of more later. steveOrino

There are a LOT of differences betwen Viet Nam and Irag. That wasn't my point. How well did "vietnamization" work to end the war? I expect same results with teaching the Iragis steveOrino

Sounds like "vietnamization" startegy to me. Am I the only one old enough to remember that failed startegy? http://www.spartacus.schoolnet.co.uk/VNvietnamization.htm steveOrino

According to Freudian interpretation, skydivers, and other high-risk takers have a death wish; their repetitive life threatening behaviors among the general populace would be considered as expressing suicide tendencies. However there is strong evidence that high risk activities are hard-wired into our brain. Dopamine is a neurotransmitter commonly associated with pleasure sensations in our brain. Activities such as eating and sex trigger release of dopamine. Other activities that are intense, such as high-risk sports like skydiving, also trigger a dopamine reaction. Those who repeatedly seek sensations from high-risk sports, such as skydiving, have been associated with lower levels of dopamine circulating in their bodies. Therefore, because they are often in a state of under-arousal, their desire to exercise risky behaviors is not necessarily associated with bringing on a high, but to bring themselves to a more normal state of arousal. Despite the public’s perception, extreme sport participants require constant care, intense training, and above all discipline and control. In other words, we're not ALL crazy. I did that years ago. I even put holds on the ceiling. Then I fixed a 15' wall in an old barn on the church property, complete with a large over hang, angled crack climb and a big old knobby bulge over a large door. Lots of fun! steveOrino
