I pointed out that one was more inflamatory than the other. It's quite a stretch to say I was approving violence against either.
-
I was just pointing out that there is a difference between making unpopular claims and what some consider to be systematic murder.
-
So, you are OK with the abortion clinic bombings but not the global warming death threats? Nice. Why would you think I'm OK with abortion clinic bombings? Speaking of stupidity.
-
Abortion clinics do a bit more than just offer opinions. What a myopic perspective. You seem to fit right in with people this article references.
-
We're still waiting on the proof on THAT Joe Wilson said so. What else is needed?
-
Are they receiving death threats, too?

I didn't realise you thought there was a problem. I'll ask again - What are you doing to remedy these problems?
-
Good work, no really! Pretend the only possible solutions to the problem are ludicrous and impractical and then you don't have to care about it any more! Utter bullshit. Would you enjoy the prosperity you do now if you had been born in Somalia? Haiti? A Rio slum? What are you doing to remedy these problems?
-
You do seem to have a knack for overlooking the obvious.

It would be a whole lot better than buying 5,550,000 people a beer.

The Repuglican Party continues to be a hypocritical joke
NCclimber replied to Lucky...'s topic in Speakers Corner
Funny how this is ALL the Repubs can say about the Clinton admin..... and they Repubs here get tired of my debt graph as if it's insignifficant. So lying about Iran-Contra is the same as lying about about private sex? Lying about disclosing FBI agents is teh same as lying about private sex? Must suck to be relegated to that. Oh, sorry...my bad. I thought this thread was about what Gingrich did during the Clinton BJ scandal. What he did, apparently, was COVER UP his own scandal while pursuing Clinton's. You mean Newt lied to a grand jury, too? -
It seems that in the last six months or so, manmade GW skeptics have been coming out of the woodwork. The latest is Allegre. Or maybe what is being reported are respected climate experts, who don't support the majority, are now taking heat for not toeing the line.

In comparing 51,003,926 to 50,460,110, I disagree. To me personally, $50K is a lot of money, but in the context of the federal budget, it doesn't even register. This is a subjective matter. If you think Gore's 00.5% margin over Bush is huge, then have at it. Why? Because the party in power gets to take credit for the good times... and in 2000 the times were historically good.

And two years later, that ruling was overturned.

I don't know that much about how the scientific community reaches a consensus, but it seems like whenever something comes to be considered a universal truth, they proclaim a "theory" or a "law" stating that truth. Are there any such laws/theories about man's impact on global warming? Or are there still too many unknowns for leading scientific organizations to make such an absolute statement?

You mean 50 years ago the time honored definition of marriage prohibited interracial marriages?

Proposal to ban booing at sports events (And not in California)
NCclimber replied to lawrocket's topic in Speakers Corner
We're an engineering school. NO FOOTBALL TEAM. Georgia Tech... Virginia Tech... Texas Tech... What do Georgia Tech, etc., have to do with whether my school "gets a lot of ass kickings"? Just pointing out being an engineering school doesn't preclude having a football program. -
If you care about worldwide poverty, Vote Democrat! Outstanding.
-
Neither my fault, problem, or responsibility to alleviate. Few people fully realise how much the relative wealth of our western nations is built on the poverty of the rest of the world. The system may not be your fault, but you certainly do take full advantage of it. And not only have no remorse, but actually think it's funny is some cases..... apathy at best What's the alternative? Only purchase goods for which the labor is paid what you interpret to be a reasonable wage? Lie awake at night obsessing about the injustice of it all?

How common.

Far more? Of the vote total, Gore recieved 1/2 of one percent more than Bush. 48.4% to 47.9% My point was that considering the general well-being of the average American, the election should have been no-contest. Gore should've won in a landslide. 111 million people voted in the 2000 election. http://www.census.gov/Press-Release/www/releases/archives/voting/000505.html 0.05% of that is 5,550,000 people. Imagine having to buy just 1 beer for each one of those noble souls. Even with the cheap shit you drink, still not a trivial bar tab. What do those 5,550,000 people have to do with anything? What's your point?
-
So what do you propose? Should there be a 'salary cap'? Should there be a law that anyone that makes more then a million dollars a year should then have all that money over a million distributed to everyone else? How about over 10 million? If you can't live on 9.9 million, tough shit. Who collects and redistributes the money?

Shitty analogy. How are gays (as individuals) discriminated against. Are there any protections of our civil rights laws that they are somehow exempted from? You can't legislate legitimacy or respectability, which is what gay activists seem to crave.
