  1. What really made it escalate was his follow up of "I’m not going to apologize for going after the president", as if clarifying his intent and courageously standing his ground somehow meant no apology was needed. He finally apologized only after his own party members started distancing themselves from him and publicly said he needed to apologize. To say "he just didn't get it" is an understatement.
  2. Considering how badly he mangled his lines, was it really wise for his people to to point out that in a prepared speech he was suppose to say: "if you aren't smart, if you're intellectually lazy". I mean, how hard is it to tell a joke? A man walks into a bar...
  3. As a fan of public broadcasting, I don't see a particular bias on PBS. On the other hand, NPR is very biased.
  4. I guees LUSH did not clue you in.. get with the program there mister... http://www.fair.org/index.php?page=1971 PBS Panders to Right With New Programming Fifteen months later, it was gone. Why?
  5. So, when Bush screws up his lines, is he really saying what he really thinks? When was this thread hijacked to be about Bush?? Right, we should be discussing Mick Jagger's sore throat. Speaking of Mick Jagger, did anyone hear about a governor's chief-of-staff using a state plane to fly a lobbyist across the state, so the lobbyist could catch a Stones concert. I didn't see anything about it in the MSM. Could this have anything to do with the governor's party affiliation???
  6. Anyone catch "30 Rock" last night. Alec Baldwin plays an arrogant, SOB TV executive. One of his lines was "Excuse me. I'm late for Ann Coulter's 60th birthday party". She's a bonafide leatherneck. and I ain't talking about the Marines.
  7. President Bush will go down as one of the most well-spoken leaders of all time. This link proves it!!! http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-1090105637983364810&q=bush+farrell
  8. I don't know about mass graves, but I heard the Clintons have had over fifty people killed. If Vince Foster were alive today, I wonder if he could help find out what actually happened in Ohio, back in "04.
  9. Too bad Kerry didn't get this advice yesterday, before his eloquent followup statement.
  10. We obviously get our information from different sources. I tend to not rely on movies and television shows (excepting the occasional news program) for my info. Do you have any information on where SS agents are, while the POTUS is in the Oval Office? Are you merely trying to discount my point? Regarding Amazon's latest vitriol - I heard Chelsea was conceived when Bill "raped" Hillary. Sounds like a healthy hetero relationship to me.
  11. Do you really think they would have said anything had they been present? It is entirely plausible they were there. In all the movies and tv shows that had Oval Office scenes, how many times were Secret Service agents actually in the office?
  12. No two ways about it - that OP was funny.
  13. If the Senate vote on his impeachment was the end of it, what was all the hubbub with the deal he cut on his last day in office?
  14. I understood your point. I just think a source loses credibility if they continually offer up half-truths and misrepresentations. Also your comparison to the Ramsey murder doesn't hold water. There was obvious evidence of a crime that was seriously investigated by law enforcement. Why hasn't there been a similarly serious official investigation into the voting irregularities? Would the Democrats actually lay down if there was a compelling case? By their nature, politicians seek to exploit their rivals weaknesses. But this story tends to have a conspiracy theory feel to it. As far as I'm concerned anyone involved in voter fraud should be fully prosecuted.
  15. I wonder what they teach about the history of South America in the UK. I'd guess it's tradtional for UK schools to put special emphasis on North America, Africa, Austalia and Asia... considering they used to control parts of those continents. The key words being "used to". Anyhow, as time passes, I'm guessing emphasis on those other parts of the globe will dwindle. I'd think most European countries would stress European history, but not that much emphasis on SE Asia or Uraguay. Please don't take offense. I'm just kind of thinking out loud.
  16. Ohhhhhh just a BIT of vitriol and hatred there from the compassionate conservative right From what I was reading on YOUR linked site he did nothing more to avoid the draft than many of the NEO-CON administration.. in fact far less than Bush or Quayle... .. and even far less than Cheney et al....WOW even getting his uncle talked to his senator to get the local draft board to give him more time befoe the Oxford trip... oooooooooohhhh so that he could have a bit longer to attend Oxford........oooooohhhhhh Last time I checked it was a good thing to a get a someone capable of even getting a scholarship and keep those young men and women who are bright enough to get that sort of thing.. in school rather than in a foxhole in Vietnam No vitriol, here. The information in the link it's pretty obvious that he ignored notices (and then made up lies to cover them). More to the point, he enlisted the aid of people like Colonel Eugene Holmes to help him gain beneficial status changes, while misrepresenting himself, then leaving them to deal with the consequences while he skated on his obligations. For anyone who read the entire page, I'd think this would be obvious. I'd love to hear how this is "far less" than the actions of Bush, Cheney and Quayle. I'm talking about specifics, not some vitriol about "Bush's daddy got him into the National Guard".
  17. If you feel thisw way about Clinton.. after recieving valid defferments.... how do you feel about almost all of this administration did it.. With Cheney leading the pack of cowards.. All draft dodgers too??? Or is that only reserved for democrats you dont like???? Clinton's deceptive, back-stabbing tactics used to avoid service is decidedly different from Bush, Cheney et al "working the system". http://www.1stcavmedic.com/bill-clinton-draft.htm
  18. What is missing from the statement is that many county officials wished to accommodate these observers, but doing so would violate state law. (editted to correct my previous claim) Of the three points I've checked out (that I thought were damning in any way), only one was true.
  19. How did it compare with the Alabama and Texas National Guards? How about Clinton the draft dodger?
  20. A number of the claims of that damning "cut and paste" are non-issues.
  21. I never said serving in the Navy in Vietnam was risk-free. I never said service in the Navy was any less noble and valuble than duty in any other branch of our armed services. My point was that is was less risky than serving in the Army. Army troop fatalities (in Vietnam) accounted for approximately 2/3rds of all US casualties. Navy fatalities accounted for less than five per cent.
  22. I checked out both of these stories and couldn't find where either claimed "all the voting machine errors detected and reported in Florida went in favor of Bush or Republican candidates" Are you conceding his first 17 points then? No. That was the only claim I checked out. So far the tally is: Lies - ONE Truths - ZERO Are the rest of the claims "false but accurate"?
  23. I checked out both of these stories and couldn't find where either claimed "all the voting machine errors detected and reported in Florida went in favor of Bush or Republican candidates"
  24. So we can't shed light on one as as a stand alone situation? BTW I think Bush's criminal record involves a single DUI charge, from many years ago.
