I am just saying they get great benifits, work only 9 months and get an above average salary and in the currant economy they should be happy and do the job well And they only get paid for 9 months**, so what are you beefing about? ** If school teachers are paid like university faculty, the 9 months salary is spread over 12 monthly payments, meaning that they are paid 3 months in arrears for the last month in the school year that they work. but they still only worked 9 months leaving more time to work part time in summer school programs or temp work wich would bring the pay up more but either way they are still payed very well compared to millins in the work force How is that ANY different from an hourly paid worker getting overtime pay for extra hours worked? I would actually hope that the people who educate my children WOULD get paid well - my kids' futures depend on them. I wish the lazy worthless teachers that I have delt with over the past 4 years would just do a good job and then maybe they would be worth what they are getting paid. The way you spell and structure a sentence is proof they must have been very lazy. I have had my children attend private and public schools over the past nine years. The public school teachers have been wonderful. The private, not so much. It's not always the teacher's fault. Parents must step up and take charge of their children's education. Interesting writing. Can tradition be responsible for an uptick in recruitment? Can you suddenly get more tradition? Do they display an esprit de corps now that they didn't have last year or the year before? If a person were to decide to join the military, tradition and esprit de corps could influence the choice of branch. Perhaps the marines believe they are getting more than their share of recruits for these reasons. Joinong "military" is one thing, for work....to Join the "marines"? It would save a ton of money if we could renew our memberships by computer. There has to be a way to do it. I know many of us need signatures for our ratings, but there has to be an easy solution. I renew my USA Hockey membership on line and it works out great.

I met with the Mayor of Oceanside today. He is all for us jumping there. Unfortunately there is an election of two incumbents soon, so I may have to go schmooze some new council members. As of now we have the required votes. There are a lot of minor paperwork issues we are sorting through. I'll let you guys know at what city council meeting we will be getting the vote at. This has been an ongoing process since March. It appears we will now look at a St. Paddy's day grand opening. I will be taking the plane to Belize for a month in February for Boogie VII and Skyfari. And to all of you that have called and written e-mails to the council, thank you.

It had everything to do with the first man down rule. The jumper was fixated on following the FMD, and lost track of everything else, instead of landing in the pre determined direction. This isn't the first time a jumper following the first person down has been seriously injured trying to do a last minute correction of direction. And how many times have we all seen the FMD be two jumpers, going in different directions on a no wind day, landing at the same time????

The FMD rule seriously injured a jumper at the Lost Prairie boogie. The jumper tried to follow the final turn of the FMD, and toggled into a broken femur, neck, pelvis. The FMD only works when a clear and visible downwind, base and final are performed by the "pre designated" FMD. IMHO.
