It would take WAY too long to type out. Just show up. -
Knocked out during skydive, what do you do?
grimmie replied to fasted3's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I was knocked unconcious, jumping with very experienced people, while I was giving the count still on the floater bar and plane , due to pilot error last summer. You won't see the hit that knocks you out in freefall 99% of the time, IMHO. Head on a swivel or not. I have had my helmet nearly knocked off doing 4 way with some super skydivers. Most of us have been kneed or elbowed right out of the plane before. It's not always the "dangerous" people. And why are the "dangerous" people still allowed to jump? -
MedJet Assist-a good idea for jumpers.
grimmie replied to grimmie's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
http://www.medjetassist.com/ I was contacted by this company in January about their membership program. This is a very good idea for jumpers that travel around the world, or travel around to boogies in the US. This was presented to me through the company that flew an injured jumper from Belize to Houston one year. That jumper had to put $28,000 on a credit card. This isn't an "insurance", it's a membership plan. You can get short term or yearly coverage. Many of the Boogie in Belize participants purchased temporary membership. I'm not representing them nor getting any kickbacks from them. I just think it's a smart idea to have this plan if you are a jumper from the USA. Some people think the "DAN" diver insurance will do the same thing, it won't. A DAN plan only flies you to the closest hopsital that can treat you and won't pay to fly you home to the states. They don't cover helicopter medivac from the DZ to the hospital. But after you are stable they would fly you to your hometown, or other location for treatment/rehab. We travel a lot, so I have a family plan for the four of us for $350 per year. -

And if it's roller coasters you want, go to Cedar Point in Sandusky, Ohio. It's the nicest amusement park in the world with some of the greatest rides of all time. There is a nice hotel right on the lake.

I have manifest wenches to do my tedious chores! This will be my 20th year in a row. I'm not sure I like it there yet. Yes, I am old. And Shannon, just wait, revenge will be MINE!!!!! -

I think I just got a little teary eyed... -
I'm a huge Pens fan, but his crap is ridiculous and he should be in the Federal League with Ogie and the Hansons putt'n on the foil.

Where's the Southern Cross DC-3 now?
grimmie replied to BillyVance's topic in Skydiving History & Trivia
The "Southern Cross" is alive and well, and flying with a new camo paint job. I was in Belize getting ready for the boogies and saw a DC-3 sitting on the ramp at Goldson International Airport. As I went through the terminal to catch my flight out to the island I met the guys that now own it. They are from Texas, and they were flying a medical supply mission to Belize with it. He saw my skydive t-shirt and right away filled me in on it. They rescued it from a scrap heap grave in Texas. I tried to get him to let us jump from it, but they were leaving the day before all of the jumpers started to arrive. -
hahaha! "The drug of the 90's".

Satisfaction with your life is a direct result of the choices you make

Satisfaction is a direct result of the friends you make and the beer you drink. -
Buy a rolling hockey bag. They last forever.

McSorley is actually a pretty great guy with a sense of humor to no end. He's as big as a barn and his hands are like catcher mitts. All I could think about was what his fights with Bob Probert must have been like to watch up close.

Madison Rally Bigger Than Biggest Tea Party Rally
grimmie replied to dreamdancer's topic in Speakers Corner
To strip workers of their collective bargaining rights is just another step towards killing the labor movement, or at least what is left of it, in the USA. We're getting closer to Socialism all of the time, and little of it has to do with Obama. In a few years no one will make anything in the US of A and workers will have no rights. Hello America, meet China. Then we'll get the factories rolling again full of $5 hour jobs. If politicians did their jobs the way they are supposed to, many States would be in far better shape. States, counties and cities all tried to go into business for themselves by building arenas, convention centers, etc. We all know what happens when a government agency tries to run a business. So lets blame the workers. -
Kovalev is great fun to watch. I wish we would have picked up Penner, he's killing it right now with the Kings. So speaking of the LA Kings. Last Saturday night my fire department team took on the LA Kings alumni team. What a great time. Their line up was; Luc Robitaille, Marty McSorley, Valeri Bure, Ian Turnbull, Mark Hardy and his son, Nelson Emerson, Craig Johnson, Brandon Convrey and some guy in goal that parctices with the NHL teams when they are in town. We lost something like 17-13, but no one cared. It was a great time and the 2,500+ fans loved it. All of the NHLers were great sportsmen and true gentlemen. I asked Luc if i should have the ref measure Marty's stick. He said it would probably be better if I just left that one alone. Ian Turnbull is hilarious. He still goes pretty good for an oldtimer too. But hell, I was the third oldest guy on the ice. They want to play us every year now. Excellent!!!

Tsunami Skydivers, Oceanside ,CA
grimmie replied to grimmie's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I just returned from an amazing month in Belize. Now it's on to getting Oceanside up and running. I am meeting with the city and FAA officials next week. There are some local folks causing a lot of problems right now by stirring up the council. It's pretty ridiculous, but as jumpers, we are used to the airport access issues we face. The FAA is firmly on our side and we will have everything ironed out in a week or two. The airport sponsor is behind us also, which is a huge help. Stay tuned. I'll have an update soon on our grand opening. -
We are playing the same FDNY team. It's always a brawl!

Hey SoCal peeps. My Ontario Fire Dept. hockey team is taking on the FDNY team at Citizens Business Bank Arena in Ontario today at 2pm. A $12 ticket gets you into our game and the following Ontario Reign/Bakersfield Condors ECHL game that evening at 7pm. Between games we will have the "Battle of the Firehouse Chili Cook Off", live music and a BBQ. This is our annual fundraiser for the Muscular Dystrophy Association. http://www.ontarioreign.com/

The Deer Hunter was filmed in Clairton, PA. Ever seen the "mountains in PA. They aren't the Rockies like the movie depicted. Fighter pilots laughed at Top Gun, Skydivers laugh at Point Break, Terminal Velocity, Drop Zone and Cutaway, firemen laugh at Backdraft. It's entertainment, not documentary.

I lost a girlfriend once at the Lost Prairie boogie years ago. That hurt like hell until I got to the bar.
