Longmont City Council will take up skydiving noise
grimmie replied to stratostar's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
The reality of this thread is that it only serves the enjoyment of fellow skydivers and the antagonizing of the anti-DZ folks. The best thing is for the lawyers and the FAA, USPA, AOPA, city, county and DZO's to hash it out quietly, without all of this background noise. Debating such issues as this in a public forum and the newspaper comments sections serves no purpose towards the eventual outcome. It's sort of like convincing the folks over in "Speaker's Corner" to vote for their opposite political party. -

No, you're crying that Obama doesn't get treated in the media the way Bush or Romney were. That's a joke. The media helped GWB in his run up to a senseless war and lead the pom pom cheers for his administration. He took 1,020 days off and the media turned a blind eye. He golfed a lot while soldiers were dying for nothing. And the whopper Colin Powell told and got a pass on from the media. What about that? Carry on... No, it is NOT a joke Bush and Powell may have had bad intel (the jury is still out IMO) And you may want to take a look at how many have died during Obama's watch Oh wait, the lame stream press does not report that Hmmm, maybe they didnt during the Bush admin either No We have not seen lies anything like what has been coming at us for years now and the media knew it all along Again expand your info sources You need it badly Well, actually... http://www.thirdworldtraveler.com/Ronald_Reagan/On_Bended_Knee.html

[removed a silly rant and an irrelevant example of supposed media bias in Canada] The media bias does exist, it is real and I am sorry if you are too closed minded to see it. So you don't have an example of Democratic election tampering that the media covered up? Media in America has historically had very conservative ownership, and more liberal reporters. Guess who maintains editorial decision making? Dan Qualye's grandfather, as an example, owned a significant chunk of the newspapers across the country. In any event, we now have Fox News and a billion bloggers to get news out. There's no suppression of anything. And despite your hurt Canuck feelings clouding your judgement about Stewart, the fact is that he will mock everyone that does stupid shit. And Ford...man, he's just a goldmine. If you're happy having Marrion Barry II as your mayor, good for you. But we're going to laugh, the same way we did at the San Diego mayor and Anthony Weiner. If Bush had gone to a similar church as Obama (preaching topics and style) Do you think the media would have not reported it? How about if Bush or Romney had a friend the likes of Bill Aires? How about that? Bush had Rummy and Cheney, way scarier than Ayers. Romney had McCain's advisors and sme of the old PNAC crowd around. Scary. How hard did the media look and bribe to get Bush's grades and other college info? Doing any of that for Barry? It seems GWB's military record, or lack of, was the big deal. Also, the low information voters do not go to blogs or veiw cable news. IF they get any news at all it is from the likes of CBS, NBC, Public TV or ABC. All just as supportive of Bush and Romney as Obama, right? GWB had the support of the ENTIRE media world after September 11th. Remember? He screwed that up royally. Romney kept flip flopping and tripping over his own words with no real plan. These are just a couple that quickly come to mind Please, join the us in the real world

Longmont City Council will take up skydiving noise

It seems that every airport in America has a group of citizens that want to close the airport because of noise and aircraft safety concerns. At my DZ we have two groups, Citizens for a Better Oceanside and the East End Neighborhood Association that are constantly calling the FAA, the mayor and city council. Check out some of these... http://www.closetheairport.com/ http://asapgillespiefield.com/ http://archives.californiaaviation.org/ganews/msg10503.html http://www.casmat.org/ http://www.envirolink.org/resource.html?itemid=241&catid=5 http://airportnoiselaw.org/cases/burling1.html http://www.thepetitionsite.com/1/protect-citizens-surrounding-palomar-airport/ -
San Diego is the best city in the world. Anyone that lives here can tell you that

We'll need to discuss this over beer. Iran Contra should have put him and his cronies in jail.

If you think that, you're answering emotionally, because there's really no objective criteria you could use that would result in him as worst. Study the facts and get back to me. And I voted for him once

I think Ronald Reagan is a shoe in for the top spot.

I spoke with Jeff yesterday for a long time about his battle. He's finalizing everything with the county and FAA and will probably have a formal announcement out soon.

Lost Prairie a few years ago. We were doing a 16 way fax meet. The Twotter pilot had never flown a 16 way chunking exit before and was a bit nervous. Let's just say the results of an over amped jump run had me unconscious in freefall for the first and only time ever. I came to my senses a bit, got in the base and rode a headache to break off. The pilot sincerely apologized over and over and bought everyone on the 16 way and the camera flyer a jump ticket. Classy.

She was too ill to come down and make a skydive with us. I was following her on facebook. She got to do a lot of her bucket list adventures and meet a lot of people she had wanted to. So sad. Fuck cancer...

It kind of looks like a Camaro from the back. I love Corvettes, I used to have a '75, but I think I would buy an Audi R8 if I had that kind of $$$$.

The ACA has performance based hospital inspections. Many hospitals are afraid of it, because of the crappy care and over priced care. A friend in the industry says a lot of hospitals are going to be on the "hot seat" for their shoddy operating procedures.

We were hired to take one of Hef's kids into the mansion on a tandem for his 21st birthday last year. The mansion head of security was a pretty cool guy. He said that people try to sneak in to the "Grotto" all of the time. Hef's kid cancelled, security guy said he was a scaredy cat. My one chance at the Holy Grail to meet the man, damn
