Not all DZ's come with drama. You can either be the entertainment or watch the entertainment. If you don't go for it now, you never will. Do it. -

Sounds like a great idea. Keep the house and rent it out. After 20 or so years that will be your retirement account. When you cutaway from the real job, have everything paid off for your DZ adventure. RV, rigs, camera etc. and a bit of cash in the bank. Have health insurance. And get a rigger's ticket for the bad weather days and learn to pack tandems. A guy with a good attitude and some skills can make a lot of cash at a DZ. Just beware. Sometimes turning your hobby into a job isn't the fun you expected. Good Luck! -
President Ronald Reagan also had people working. Yup, selling arms to our enemies and funding his freedom fighters in banana republics and working on Flash Gordon defense systems that would never work. And except for the PATCO men and women. But that's another dead horse that has been beaten here numerous times regarding St. Raygun. Back to Benghazi...

So when are we going to start caring so much for these same things happening in other parts of the world that aren't sitting on top of oil reserves or in the path of oil pipelines? There has been machete massacres happening for a very long time in Africa and we've hardly batted an eye. There are terrible things happening in other countries, yet we have this weird obsession with only giving a fuck about the middle east. Why? Not much oil in Rwanda...

My cousin used to have a recording studio in West Covina, CA back in the 70's. They did some movie sound stuff and met Richard during one of their projects. He was a pretty cool guy. He showed up at one of our family reunions and took a photo with my 6'5 cousin. He towered over him.

Bush, Rummy, Condy and Dick should be in jail. It's odd how the GOP is all wound up about Benghazi but don't whisper a peep about a war based on lies that killed thousands of Americans and hundreds of thousands of innocent people. Bush was so right, the GOP loves having him around at election times. Oh, wait...never mind...

Base jumping a properly packed rig hand held off of the Perrine bridge solo is way safer than skydiving at a boogie or a busy DZ. IMHO. If you read the base fatality list, you will notice something dramatic. Early base jumpers died by using crummy gear, over delaying or doing some pretty all around dumb things. A few off heading openings and landing injuries also killed some folks. When wingsuits came out, everyone wanted one. Not because of proximity flying, which no one even had thought of really, but because of the safety. Jump a cliff, get FAR away, over a safe , nice LZ with no chance of a cliff strike. But now it seems that ever base fatality is a wingsuit proxy flight gone bad. Check out the list. It will give you an idea of the current trend killing everyone. http://www.blincmagazine.com/forum/wiki/BASE_Fatality_List Base jumping is a great time, but it takes time to get to know your gear, the different set ups, your abilities and your risk factors. It helps to roll with some experienced good guys too. It also helps to have a lot of skydives under your belt for the canopy skills. My good pal Marty Tilley, owner of Asylum Designs, taught me how to base jump. He said three things kill base jumpers. "Complacency, complacency, complacency."

Why does he need 'saved"? He's not running for re-election, contrary to most Tea Bag sites. -

Casa Grande Part 16 formal complaint filed
grimmie replied to stratostar's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
These people that have private jets and planes are business people. It’s another chance for us to introduce them into the business community to maybe start a business in Casa Grande.” OK. Let's chase a current successful business that is owned by an out of towner away, so we can attract more out of towners to MAYBE start a business in Casa Grande. -
Good point. However I did have to carry one very busted up naked skydiver down a mountain once at Lost Prairie, but that's a story for another day.

If you're unconscious, you're a "Novice" jumper at best. -
Is a 50 way 4 points equal to a 100 way 2 points
grimmie replied to erdnarob's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Take 4 average skilled skydivers and have them do 4 way. It will take them a very, very, very long time to turn Airspeed points in time. Take the same 4 skydivers and put them on a 50 way. They could manage a few points if the other 46 folks played along over a weekend P3 camp. -
They both have AADs, so everything's cool right?
