Remember when Indiana wanted to regulate skydiving, by charging the DZs to regulate them? Remember when the FAA said only airplanes can use hangars, nothing else, including as DZ office/packing areas? Remember when the government wanted to tax skydivers per head on each jump? Remember when the FAA banned skydiving after many jump plane crashes involving numerous passenger fatalities and injuries and skydiver fatalities under perfectly good parachutes. Oh wait...that didn't happen.

I understand that, and maybe he does too, but his supporters really don't.

I'm an independent voter, but I'll play along. Donald Trump can't point to Syria on a map. That would be OK if he wanted someone to show him where it is, but he doesn't. He cares far more about his ego and his business empire than being president. Instead of draining the swamp, he has brought in lots of creatures. His foreign business dealings will be a looming shit show. His love affair with Putin is scary. He won't prosecute Clinton, build a wall, deport millions, bring jobs back and stop abortion. So many of his supporters will be miserable and turn on him. It's already started. I'll make some popcorn. The fine folks in the rust belt, where I grew up, are really going to be let down. The GOP will go after the unions, medicare and social security, welfare and SNAP. If his wife stays in NYC, the cost of that will be ridiculous. I worry that the people advising him are itching for another invasion of the Middle East.

No one is hosting Nicaragua since we (tsunami skydivers) were there in 2012. It's WAY to windy in the winter. Not sure anything is going on in Mexico except for the awesome Christmas/NYE boogie in Puerto Escondido. It fills up quickly as I think they have a maximum jumper cut off. The Panama boogie is on again. It is the first week of April.

We could all fill about 3 or 4 novels full of Scotty Carbone stories. I think he outlived the "over/under" bets on him by about 15 years! What a character. I am glad I got to make jumps with him and enjoy fireside cocktail chats with him.

The roads in Costa Rica would kill your motor home. The boogie is at an all inclusive resort. No RV parking.

And we can now get an armed group of jumpers, take over Yosemite for a few days and jump our asses off, and then leave. Sweet.

I have a theory on why Trump has become a natipnal figure in our politics. Trump has name recognition. He alludes that he is an ultra successful businessman. He has a hot wife and good looking kids. Now stay with me here... After eight years of Obama bashing, for no other reason than he is a black democrat, that brought the ACA like he promised, and congress dragging Hillary Clinton through endless Benghazi investigations, the "people" want something different. Click bait websites have the Muslims invading us, the government stealing all of our guns and Christians being executed on the street. The black man is getting uppity with BLM, and of course 'Merica! During the GOP clown car primary, Trump stood out. No one wanted another Bush. Christie is creepy in a mafia kind of way. Kasich is as exciting as tapioca pudding. Rubio was a little smarmy bitch. Carly looked like she just ate a sour pickle and Cruz scares the shit out of everyone that isn't a total religious nutter. The more outlandish shit Trump said, the more his base ate it up. Because after years of being told how crappy America is, a lot of people actually started believing that BS. And our congress sucks monkey balls so badly, the people want change. Even if it is the orange man. People are tired of the run of the mill politicians and Trump is the spicy hot sauce the people needed. Not all of the people, just certain people. If you watch Fox News and Hannity, read Breitbart and listen to Rush or Savage, you would be holed up in Georgia with Ron. It's pretty scary shit they peddle. We have a nation that is only educated by sound bites. I have older friends that still think Obama is taking away their guns. Add in an NFL player kneeling, and certain people are losing their collective minds. So here is Trump, the white guy, with casinos, helicopters, jets and a hot trophy wife, telling them everything they want to hear, without a clue about anything that is real policy, and the people are eating it up. 'cuz "MERICA! As for his running mate. Hillary Clinton has shot herself in both feet over a number of issues over the years. The GOP has always had it out for the Clintons, as the Dems have had it out for the Bush family. So we have never, ever seen the likes of Donald Trump on the national stage. There have been plenty of local city and state nutters elected to office, but no one this outlandish has ever made it to the big show.
