NYT: "I Am Part of the Resistance Inside the Trump Administration"
grimmie replied to ryoder's topic in Speakers Corner
If a mole inside of the Obama administration wrote this during his terms, conservatives would be leading the charge to impeachment. If Obama had written that Anthony Weiner and Corrine Brown shouldn't be charged because of upcoming elections and slammed the DOJ, Ryan and crew would be printing up impeachment articles in a split second. If Hillary put Chelsea and her hubby in the West Wing, heads would explode on Fox News. If Obama golfed every single weekend, Rush Limbaugh would be livid. If Michelle Obama had posed nude in her younger days, religious leaders would be apoplectic. Odd times my friends... -

NYT: "I Am Part of the Resistance Inside the Trump Administration"

Making popcorn, waiting eagerly to hear Ron and Rush's defense of this one. -
I think he will be dead by 20202 I think there is a world of hurt coming Trump's way, and not all of it from Mueller either. I agree.

The BOD members that voted yes are thinking that is what they are helping to accomplish. "Promoting and building our sport".
-
Thanks Jan, As I figured about the vote. And thanks to you, Gary Peek, Chuck Akers and Mike Mullins for expressing your views here on a somewhat regular basis. I know quite a few members on the USPA BOD personally and a handful of the USPA staff. No one will ever agree with certain moves and decisions made by everyone and I applaud your openness here. I have spoken to probably 50 or so skydivers that are members of the USPA. Not one of them was pleased with the recent museum expenditure vote. Thank you for reminding me what the total USPA buy in will be. It would be nice if the USPA had an online forum for questions and comments on the web site. Like the AOPA has..https://www.aopa.org/login/[url]

Thanks Jan. Jim is a great guy. But this is a lousy idea. Our treasurer, Albert Berchtold, said the USPA can't afford it and yet some members voted yes. Can we get the list of those votes?

Out of 40,000 members, and including DSE, someone has to have a better widget now. The BOD should really look into it. Again.

I wish I had a dollar for every time someone says how easy it is to do video of BOD meetings. Go to the web site of your local government and find video of a meeting, then go to where the meeting is held and video is done (don't forget the audio, which is more important), and look at what it takes, then tell us how easy it is. Or contact a company that does things like this, describe USPA BOD meetings (don't forget the committee meetings) and ask them what it would take to do it right. Or, contact Douglas Spotted Eagle, who used to be the moderator of the dz.com video and photograhy forum, and ask him about his experience in doing video of a BOD meeting. For the record, I would welcome recording or live video/audio of BOD meetings. I'm sure it could be done for less than $150,000

I spoke with Shawn Hill in person about it at the Lost Prairie boogie and let my thoughts be known.

The USPA voted to give the museum $25,000 per year for 5 years for a total of $125,000 to a project with no scheduled opening date? Tell me that isn’t true. If it is true, I have a project that could use $125,000. Derek V It's not true. They actually are giving $25,000 of our dues to the museum for SIX years. The total needed to construct it is estimated at $14,000,000. The BOD was lobbied hard by the museum folks. I'm all for an International Skydiving Museum and Hall of Fame, however I think it is not the USPA's BOD best decision to giveaway our money like this. Especially to a project that may never get built.

The USPA constitution contains the following references: The purposes for which USPA is formed are as follows: To encourage unity among all persons interested in skydiving...to promote and encourage the study and knowledge of skydiving among the membership and the public at large....to compile information regarding the science of skydiving and to edit, publish, and disseminate the same... Chuck, as you know, I'm a pretty pro USPA guy. However. This is an abuse of our dues, IMHO. The museum isn't anywhere close to being built. So we are going to lose interest on a ton of money. What happens if it is never built? Do we get a refund with interest? We have far more pressing needs to keep DZs open across the nation. Our teams beg for funding. I very strongly disagree with the board's decision.

The payment to the museum is not in accordance to the USPA's own mission statement.
-
You are talking in circles. The USPA weeded out the bad apple and you think it was unfair.
-
The BOD voted on the museum spending. It was all their idea.
-
Ed Scott never claimed this happened because Lodi wasn't a USPA GM DZ. I have attached the video for you to review. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NVUTZ3APTMs This wasn't an "Unlucky Tragedy". This was negligence by a number of people involved.

How to make a barrel roll with canopy?
grimmie replied to Sabrekakkonen's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
What did the canopy coach say about you doing barrel rolls?? -
That was hilarious! Thanks!

Emphasis mine This group you list are known to be highly left wing. With almost 95% of their political donations going to the Democrats. All credibility is lost after this point There are no conservative academics or researchers??? And with that logic, Fox News is full of lost credibility then also?

I wonder how the parents of all those EU military men and women felt when Trump said they were our foe? You know, the ones that went to Iraq and Afghanistan with us and lost their lives.

Below knee amputee skydivers- I need your help!
grimmie replied to TyT14's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Nick Fener lost his legs below the knees and has made a full return to jumping. He and his wife Lindsay are at Skydive Chicago now (I think). I'll track them down and have them get in touch with you. Nice job getting back at it! -
And how many people will boycott all of the other Texas DZs, thinking they are the same one?
-
Pretty pathetic, and giving our sport a pretty big black eye. I have known Hank for a long time. It's pretty unreal to me that he is doing this.

emailing the military because of your posts on a skydiving website. Classic.
